— Anthony Doerr, All the Light We Cannot See (via books-n-quotes)
“Some people feel like they don’t deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past.”
— Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild (via books-n-quotes)
Remind Yourself;
People leave
Life goes on
It is what it is
Everything is temporary
Don’t over think, and;
Let it go
“Other people teach us who we are. Their attitudes to us are the mirror in which we learn to see ourselves, but the mirror is distorted. We are, perhaps, rather dimly aware of the immense power of our social environment.”
— Alan Watts, The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are (via books-n-quotes)
“Don’t ask for guarantees. And don’t look to be saved in any one thing, person, machine, or library. Do your own bit of saving, and if you drown, at least die knowing you were heading for shore.”
— Ray Bradbury, Farenheit 451 (via books-n-quotes)
“You hate him for what he did, but you miss him.”
— Rachel Hawkins, Hex Hall (via books-n-quotes)
“It’s a question I often ask myself: what would I do with me? And I don’t know the answer. I don’t know what I’d do, except run away.”
— Alexander Masters, Stuart: A Life Backwards (via books-n-quotes)
“Things end. People leave. And you know what? Life goes on. Besides, if bad things didn’t happen, how would you be able to feel the good ones?”
— Elizabeth Scott, Perfect You (via books-n-quotes)
I prefer to distance myself whenever im mad because i turn into the most heartless person you’ll ever meet and you’re going hate me for that
“Do not bother holding onto that thing that does not want you.”
— Rupi Kaur, Milk and Honey (via rupikaurpoems)
Life is too short to be wasted on what ifs and what could have been. Focus on what is, what can be avoided and what you want. I say this because I was suffering from the same silly mentality until recently.
“Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (via books-n-quotes)
Stop dating while you’re healing.
Heal first, then date.
if you ever feel stupid remember that kodak used to hold almost 90% of all camera sales in the US but fell off the face of the earth because in 1975 they created the first self-contained digital camera which would have been market-breaking but decided to trash the project because they figured that digital photography was a phase that people would grow out of, only to go out of business because they were the only company that wouldn’t commericalize on digital cameras
@iamoutofideas “capitalism promotes innovation!”
Kinda similar to how 3D printing is 40 year old technology, but the reason it’s big now is because the patent finally expired
