As we’re sure many of you have noticed, Journey has been very slow as of late. Unfortunately, as you know, Admins Ash and Pikachu moved very recently and have been unable to get steady wifi in order to maintain activity on this blog, let alone on multiple accounts. With that being said, it has become clear to us that it is time. With heavy hearts, we are announcing that JOURNEY IS CLOSED. This is not a decision we have made lightly, nor is it one we are eager to make, but we feel it is the fairest decision for all of the members. You are free to continue roleplaying in this universe, if you desire, but the main blog will no longer be updating.
Thank you all so much for sticking with us until this point. We’ve had a lot of fun getting to know all of you, and we wish you all the best of luck in the future. Maybe we’ll see you again sometime!
As the sun dips behind the horizon and the day draws to an end, a brilliant blaze of bright red and orange flames erupts into the night sky. The barrier fence in the far right corner of the Safari explodes into a shower of pieces that falls slowly to the ground, and hundreds of Grunts begin to flood the area. A voice breaks out over the intercom, projecting a stranger’s voice to the entire park. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for joining us to celebrate Team Rocket’s glorious return.” Mass confusion breaks out afterwards as the Grunts systematically move throughout the Zone, intent on startling unsuspecting trainers and stealing as many innocent Pokémon as they can get their hands on.
As the flames continue to engulf the surrounding forest and greenery, there is chaos everywhere. Trainers and Poké-enthusiasts alike must avoid getting caught in the blaze. Wild Pokemon flee helplessly from the scene and Team Rocket Grunts are scattered everywhere, making escape almost impossible.
WELCOME to Journey’s next event! This is a multi-part event and all members are encouraged to join us.
For this event:
To take part in the event, please like this post. You will be PARTNERED UP for this event. If you already have a partner from plotting for the previous Safari event and have started a thread with them, please also comment with your partner on this post. If you do not have a partner yet, we will randomly pair people up together. You will receive a prompt from the events blog detailing your current situation. Together, you must try and escape from the Safari Zone.
During this event, other prompts will be sent out as well. These prompts will range from interactions with Grunts, to attacks from upset wild Pokemon, to trying to escape. Please respond to these asks with a SOLO at least 200-300 words in length. For each of these prompts, you will be awarded one random item (balls, evolution-inducing items, evolutionary stones, etc).
Team Rocket members will also be sent asks giving them specific tasks. However, your main goal should be to collect as many Pokemon as possible. This may include writing two solos, each at least 500 words in length, detailing a capture of a wild Pokemon. For each response, you will receive 3 rare candies. These solos must be distinctly different.
Welcome to the Safari Zone, a thriving paradise location just outside of Jeonju, inside Byeonsanbando National Park!
There are many different types of Pokemon who make their home in the Safari Zone. Below are a list of Pokemon that can be found hidden in the tall grass and swimming in the Zone’s waters.
Grass
Oddish, Skiploom, Phantump, Skiddo, Lotad
Bug
Joltik, Yanma, Heracross, Caterpie, Sewaddle
Water
Buizel, Poliwag, Feebas, Panpour, Spheal
Ground
Geodude, Swinub, Baltoy, Stunfisk, Phanpy
All members are encouraged to join us for this event at the Safari Zone! The owners have kindly offered their stores of Pokemon up for the general public with the agreement that all participants must take a photo with their captured Pokemon at the end, to be used for promotional purposes.
Each person will receive TEN SAFARI BALLS for use during the event, along with little cubes of bait to throw at the Pokemon and entice them to eat. You may also pick up rocks to throw at the Pokemon, but be careful: these aggravated attacks may cause the Pokemon to flee, instead of stunning the Pokemon momentarily.
Here is how the event will work:
1. PLEASE LIKE THIS POST in order to receive an ask from the event blog about a wild Pokemon! If you choose not to like this post, please note that you will NOT BE ABLE to catch any event Pokemon. You may interact with other trainers and encounter Pokemon, but you will be unable to catch any. All Pokemon will range between levels 15-20.
2. When you are sent an ask from the event blog, please reply to it with a solo of your character interacting with the Pokemon! Please DO NOT WRITE that you have caught the Pokemon, the event blog will use a random generator to determine the result and send you another ask to continue the interaction!
3. The event will run from OCT. 12 TO OCT. 26. You are encouraged to plot with other members for this event!
4. TAG ALL POSTS related to this event with the tag “jy:safari”.
5. You must write at least FIVE EVENT-CENTERED INTERACTIONS/SOLOS in order to receive SEVEN RARE CANDIES. Solos must be at least 250 WORDS in order to be counted.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! All questions directed to the event blog will be sent to the main.
