At Gina's
Vanessa took the paper and stared at it a long time. “So they think we’re monsters,” she whispered quietly to herself. She waited a while before looking up. “There must be more resources on this.” Her mind was racing, planning. She may be freaked out as hell, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going down without some action.
“I’ve only been here a few days,” she replied absentmindedly while she scanned the paper for more articles. Finding nothing important she grimaced and tossed the paper on the coffee table. She took a sip of her coffee, glad for the caffeine now before continuing with what was on her mind.
“So,” she began, wondering whether or not she really wanted to know the answer. “If you’re not like me, then what are you?”
Parker shifted uncomfortably while Vanessa read the newspaper, Chum seemed to sense her unease and came over, rubbing his squashed face against her own and she smiled a little. "There's... a lot of information, I think they give you some form of pack or something if you register... I don't know, sorry" she looked down and stroked Chums belly, earning herself a chorus of purrs from the ginger cat.
"Regardless, this has been like, a worldwide thing. Right? You haven't heard anything... at all?" she blinked curiously at the blonde, wondering how she could have missed such a huge turn of events in the world "I mean, the act was passed months ago, there's been an uproar about the whole thing- ouch!" Chum cut her off by clawing at her arm, deciding that enough tummy rubs was enough, she rolled him off the sofa and rubbed her stinging arm while glaring at him.
"Me? I'm not anything. Just me. Just plain old Parker" she said quickly, not meeting Vanessa's eye while she spoke.
