I’m a Whiny Liberal and Here’s Why

I cannot take it anymore, I have to get this off my chest. Since the election conservatives have been loud about their belief that the Democrats are 'sore losers' or "whiny babies" and only enduring what they the republicans did under eight years of Obama. This literally blows my mind, was it really so painful for republicans to see low income people insured? Did it really hurt when all Americans were given the right to marry the person they loved, as they should have had all along? Was it torture to watch as a strong leader pulled us out of a literal depression to the lowest unemployment rates we've seen in decades? I understand that conservatives may have disagreed with the Obama admin. but it was a matter of "this is against my best interests as a -blank-" or "I disagree with this from a Christian, Moral, Conservative ect. stand point" the atrocities our current admin. is committing are a matter of right and wrong, black and white, good vs evil. Because as a human being, who just so happens to lean strongly to the left, I can say that I cannot sit by in silence as we close our borders based on the xenophobic rhetoric of a madman. I will not close my eyes while women lose the rights they fought so hard to gain. I will not be quiet while our leader appoints billionaire after billionaire to posts they are wildly unqualified for, in the most transparent case of mutual back scratching I've ever seen in politics. As a human inhabitant of planet earth, I will not quietly watch a climate denier who's own home state is plagued by man made earth quakes due to rampant fracking is made head of the E.P.A. I cannot let the principles that this country was founded on fall by the wayside, and say nothing, I will not normalize this behavior. It is not okay. Not for a conservative, not for a democrat not for anyone. My issue with Trump is not because he is a republican, it has nothing to do with red or blue, it is plainly and simply that he is a terrible person, doing terrible things. And when you see a terrible person doing terrible things in plain sight, even if that person has a lot of power, and a lot of supporters, it is in no ones best interest to cover our eyes.

Trump won last night because the country is angry at their government, they are out of work, they are working but unable to own a home or build a life, they are afraid to the point where a madman screaming about building a wall seemed like a better option than more of the same. The sad thing is that this desperate majority will find no relief with a Trump presidency, he has no solutions. What will happen a year from now when we are deeper in debt due to his lack of policy and tact? What about when the rest of the world refuses to deal with us? What happens when the working poor loses their health insurance? We have proven a point though that's for sure, the only thing left now is to impale ourselves on it.
