It’s the debut episode for the JAPAN + the WORLD podcast! This podcast features Japan and the effects of its culture reaching across the globe.

In this episode, I spoke with Colette Fozard, Director of Operations for Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival located in Washington DC and organized by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC. Colette not only keeps all of our Committee Chairs and the festival organization in top condition, but she is also heavily involved in the operations of a number of pop cultural conventions. We discuss ways in which you can get involved with your local Japanese community through education, organizations, events, conventions, and more!
