#SYRIA #chemical warfare #IdlibGasAttack

This hashtag has to do with a gas attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib province that happened earlier today at the time this was posted. The Syrian medical relief group, UOSSM, says at least 100 people have died and 400 are injured.

Upon further discussion, we feel as though it satisfies the 6th characteristic of a discourse community through the use of lawyers, doctors, newscasters (experts) to get information from novices and victims from the attacks.

Batman VS Spider-Man! WHO WOULD WIN?

“I don't understand how people are arguing AGAINST this. They literally name every conceivable weapon that Batman has and would use in a fight. They mention all his accomplishments including taking down the Justice League and beating Superman. Batman is badass, no doubt. But in a death battle against Spidey he loses. ONLY in a death battle though. Keep in mind that all of his accomplishments took days, sometimes months. He beat Supes, sure... but only with a kryptonite ring. Taking that into consideration, it wouldn't have been that difficult.

Also, you guys are forgetting the main rule of this. It's a Death Battle! It's both heroes being pit together with absolutely no information about each other. If Batman knew he was going to fight Spider-man, yeah he would prepare and he probably would beat him. But Spidey would need time to prepare as well, being a genius he could also conceive ways to fight Batman. Either way, neither party has time or the chance to prep. It's a one-on-one, improvised battle. In this case, Spider-Man wins.”

-Keeping in mind that the fight took place at random from both superheroes, Spider-Man deserves the win, he’s faster and with his Spidey sense he’s almost invincible. Batman on the other hand isn’t the easiest adversary either, but, keeping in mind that it was a random battle, he looses the fight.

“Uhmm....Spider man would've been dead at the middle of the battle, bats is always prepared, you guys are saying that Spider man won because the creators actually wanted him to win, so you guys can comment how Batman should've won And Batman should've won”

-Batman is the smartest superhero in the DC universe, he’s the best in finding weak points for EVERYONE, even himself. If Batman had time o prepare for the fight he would easily defeat Spider-Man.

CONCLUSIONS:

1)Batman will need prep time in order to be able to beat Spider-Man

2)Spider-Man has super-strength and Spidey sense, giving him the upper hand considering he’ll know when Batman will attack

3)Although Batman is at an extreme disadvantage, he’s always prepared for any outcome, making fans believe he still has a chance

Question of Inquiry Profile

To be entirely honest, my question is kind of vague, but it’s:

“How can gaming affect the way one writes?”

In my research paper, I’m going to try to focus on gaming and how its prolonged effects can “make or break” you when it comes to your academic performance, specifically writing. I’m going to be using myself as a point of study/reference for this paper considering that I play video games a lot and have always wondered if it can really affect the way one writes in a positive or negative manner, especially when it comes down to how much one plays or what they’re playing.

I asked my peers on what they thought of this and they said that I should go more into detail on who my audience is going to be and what the purpose is exactly. They also said I should specify which games I’m planning on using...like is board games, video games, etc. And whatever it ends up being, to specify the genre as well.

I thought this was all great advice and I plan to take it to heart when I begin writing this essay.

In the future, I think my question won’t cause any problems to be entirely honest. If anything, the only thing that might be kind of difficult would have to be the sources, but then again, all my friends play video games, so I could just interview them and see what their view on the issue is.

Get Literate

1) Literacy sponsors are anything in relation to the economics of literacy. the sponsors of literacy come in many different forms and are classified in the text as any agents, local or distant, concrete or abstract, who enable, support, teach, model, as well as recruit. The people who are sponsored have obvious benefits in literacy of course but they honestly benefit from the relationship. Others have less obvious connections, like government policies which can affect the process of their literacy potential.

No matter what, you’ll always be literate in some specific profession.

In this article, Brandt compares Raymond Branch and Dora Lopez’s literacy experiences. Brandt argues that race and class impact how much access people have to literacy sponsorship. Branch had access to his father who was a professor, his father’s science lab, his own computer, and other advance technology that his father worked with. Dora Lopez has access to her father who received an accounting degree at a local technical college, her mother who briefly attended technical college, a bookstore that her mother worked part-time at and held jobs that Dora held that allowed her access to computers. Long story short, although Branch and Lopez were both able to apply themselves in literacy development, it was a lot harder for Lopez to obtain a rich learning environment.

Sponsorship is an opportunity of developing and obtaining literacy.

Dwayne Lowery’s union joining experience evidences that sponsorship is an opportunity that keeps people refresh literacy in order to fit in the new society which taken over by the new forms of literacy. Dwayne had to travel around, and attend workshop regularly to keep himself on track, as the trend of value shifting to more literate young people who are able to match the nowadays situation, and haudle the pressure from our sides.

We all write bad at first!!!

Nobody can write a perfect first draft...not even the professionals. First drafts are meant to get all your ideas out, not to get it right away and start making it all amazing off the bat. Think of it as a diamond, you’ll never find a perfectly-shaped one, you’ll need to shape and form it to what you’d like it to be, but not from the start. Don’t just jump into it. Just get it down on paper first and work from there. Like Anne Lamott said, “People tend to look at successful writers who are getting their books published and maybe even doing well financially and think that they sit down at their desks every morning feeling like a million dollars, feeling great about who they are and how much talent they have and what a great story they have to tell; that they take in a few deep breaths, push back their sleeves, roll their necks a few times to get all the cricks out, and dive in, typing fully formed passages as fast as a court reporter. But this is just the fantasy of the uninitiated.” SO YOU SEE...

Digital Writing FTW!!

Would you be surprised if I told you that this very post consisted a lot of what they teach you in English class? Well, I sure hope not.

Writing is amazing, but when the writing process or things of that nature come to mind, we don't usually think about texts or posts like this one.

...or like that ^^^

Texting, the use of social media and digital electronics in general have been frowned upon a lot in schools in the past...and even to this day. Why do you think most teachers tell you to put your phones away? BECAUSE THEY FIND IT DISTRACTING!!

While instead, they should be finding it helpful and see it as a new approach when it comes to writing and speaking your mind.
