Furniture pieces and signage designed with ékm architecture for the revitalised restaurant of the La Fontaine park in Montreal. They include 11x17 steel, glass and plexi easels for displaying menus, a large steel and slate easel to display upcoming events as well as a folded steel podium outfitted with electrical outlets for talks and conferences. Fabrication by M.O. Workshop.

ékm architecture's 7.85 square meter medical clinic custom built as an ultra-compact design in a “Sprinter” type vehicle for Médecins du Monde. This project will bring medical care to some of the most vulnerable people in Montreal, such as homeless people and refugees who do not have normal access to health care. Line of work included preliminary research, design, renderings and construction documents.

ékm architecture's Stewart Biology terrace is a large central exterior space that connects the four pavilions of the Stewart Biology complex at McGill University in Montreal. About 9000 plants, including flowers, shrubs and trees were planted. The existing vegetation, including a rare Meta Sequoia, was conserved. Waterproofing of the surrounding buildings, including new membranes, flashing and drainage strategies were included in the mandate.
Consulting, design work and visuals on three different prototypes of student low-cost housing units for UTILE (Unité de travail pour l'implantation du logement étudiant) on their work towards implementing affordable housing for students in Montreal.

The design for the logo and the 2014 cycling kits of the Bikurious Racing Collective, a cycling club founded by Marissa Plamondon-Lu, owner of the Bikurious Montreal bike shop. It features a women's and men's racing team participating in national level road, mountain and cyclocross events.

The design for the 2011 and 2012 cc Croix de fer cycling kits, a cycling club that I co-founded along with Jacques Gallant, Jacques Cormier, Tony Alfonso, Brandon Tulloch, Colin Engel and John Danby in the winter of 2011. The club is still running strong with over 40 members.

The Empress Sessions - This project looks at the rehabilitation of the Empress Theatre, a now abandoned movie palace in the NDG borough of Montreal, into an analog recording studio, a live performance venue, a radio station, a film processing lab and a broadcast centre devoted to analog art and technologies.
Learning from Rocinha - This studio project is an attempt at designing a mega-building, or a vertical city, based on the growth pattern and organic development of Rocinha, Brazil's largest favela (slum). Two different vertical access systems are superimposed to form nodes where public, commercial or recreational spaces are formed, or remote areas where housing, greenhouses and power generators are located.
The South Chicago Performance Centre - This studio project is a counter proposal to the Gary Comer Youth Center designed by architect John Ronan. The existing youth centre is located in the working class neighborhood of South Chicago. Characterized by its fritted glass façades and its homogeneity, the South Chicago Performance Centre is designed around a basketball gymnasium equipped with a fly tower that can become a performance space. Its three upper levels contain a restaurant, a media centre, multi-use classrooms and two music rooms that are accessible to the entire community.
A mechanical computer constructed by hand based on Giovanni Dondi's astrarium: a 14th century astronomical clock. Using the Tractatus Astrarii manuscript as well as various photographs of the existing replica of the astrarium, I interpreted the mechanism of its moon dial using thick chipboard and wooden dials. This mechanism simulates an epicyclical movement of the moon’s orbit: a eccentric elliptical rotation, as well as a circular oscillation.
Crumpled fixture - A lighting fixture made to be played with by its users. The level of light emission varies by crumpling or flattening the lamps' envelope. It was designed as a parody of popular Ikea paper light fixtures, and my strong desire to crumple them .
This series of posters was produced to advertise upcoming conferences at the McGill School of Architecture. Various mediums were used such as screen capture, photography and stencil printing for the Reiser Umemoto poster.
RHIZM City is meant to be 1/12 of an imaginary metropolis for 12 million people. Concerned with water shortage and alternative means of transportation, it proposes funnel shaped assemblies of dwelling units built below ground level. These units connect to a network of water canals that contain the city’s water supply. These canals, not unlike the ones that exist in Venice, Italy, also provide transportation possibilities.
