So this is the B-side to Ima wo Ikite. It’s called “Kemono no Kemono” this sng is very different then what AKFG usually makes, but honestly, it is so amazing. The jazzy/pop piano part is amazing as well as the jazzy juitar solos. The vocal part is so catchy, it gets stuck in your head all day. I have literally listened to this song at least 100 times since I got the CD last week. I recommend you all listen to this. AKFG have outdone themselves this time :D ~Jake

For those of you who live under a rock:

This track is a new AKFG single called “Ima Wo Ikite”. It is going to be used as the title song for an upcoming Japanese movie titled “Yokomichi Yonosuke” (The Story of Yonosuke) and it’s official CD release is February 20th. To me, this song kind of sounds like a mix of a song on the Magic Disk album mixed with a kind of like an American soft rock feel to it. I quite like it to be completely honest, I even Pre ordered the Limited edition CD. Though, most people may not like it because it does seem very different than us, as AKG fans, are used to. Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Mustang (Mix for Meiko)

Reading Solanin (the manga) while listening to this makes me cry all the time. Such a beautiful song. AKG Fun fact:

This mix was released as the B-side to the Solanin Single. The lyrics to Solanin (the song) were written by Inio Asano (the author of the Solanin manga) and the original version of Mustang was the ending song to the Movie adaptation of the manga. The reason for the title being “Mix for Meiko” is that Meiko is the name of the female protagonist of Solanin.

I listened to the Rewrite redo. I feel like the extended middle didn’t add much to the song. It’s cleaner and somehow more damp. It’s hard to be unbiased when the original is so good.

I saw in an interview that ajikan said that they wanted to redo this album with the skills, resources, and creativity they have now. I respect that, but the changes they made didn’t add to the song. I feel like they ended up with the same thing.

I realized that I have been a fan of ajikan for 10 years now. I was barely a teen when I first saw the Blue Train pv in Mexico and now I’m heading towards my mid-20s. Time flies.
