‘ Greetings and salutations. God knows what this is- a “blog” of some sort. I suppose my newly-found shrink (not that I need one, but he’s been shoved on me after getting caught robbing that Snappy Snack Shack or what have you) decided I need, what was it he said? “Communication with the general populace”. What an airhead.
Anyway. All I’m allowing you people to know are my initials of J and D. People have come up with distasteful yet oddly creative nicknames, so go and do that. I’m seventeen— I’ll tell you that too, I’m not sure what exactly anyone would be able to do with that information save for being a creeper, which I can deal with.
I’m a temporary senior at… was it Westerberg? Yeah, Westerberg Highschool. It’s the same as all of the other high schools, as forgettable as them as well. What I do there… well, that’s less forgettable. But I’ve had enough of those grimy jail-cells around the Midwest.
Well, I’m done with this. Do whatever you want, run rampant, cause a plague. This is perhaps one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done. Hooray. ‘
(ooc under cut)
I have tried and failed to run roleplay blogs before, let’s see how this one goes. My JD obsession runs through and through and hopefully will until the end of time. Anyway!!
I will occasionally draw his reactions when I’m able, but since my airdrop (what I usually use to send my drawings to myself) is screwed up, I think that’ll take a while, but we’ll see!
Ships: All of them. I love JDronica the most, but I’m a huge fan of Chandean (+ chansawdean) and JDuke. I don’t think he has any other ships, I’ve never seen McNamara/JD, I feel like that would be really funny.
My interpretation of JD is a strange one, as he’s based on the musical more than the movie. He’s more prone to nervous breakdowns and when he kills Heather he’s in a manic state, a state he’s also in when he plans to kill Kurt and Ram. He puts on an asshole persona (he’s still a bit of an asshole when not pretending to be one, though) to keep people away, and that persona is based on movie JD as he’s more callous and indifferent to his actions. Anyhow, that’s how I view him. He’s moreso based on Simon Gordon’s JD from the 2022 West End pro-shot.
Considering I have school and am in a play, I don’t know how much time I’ll have to do this, but I’ll try very hard! To keep going!!!! Everything for JD…
headcanons ?
Bipolar II, narcissistic traits, PTSD, some sociopathic traits (lack of empathy, violent tendencies, manipulative), as well as undiagnosed +untreatdd clinical depression post his mother’s death. Also a bit of a kleptomaniac (how he got his gun, he stole it from a shop while in Boston).
Worked at a 7/11 briefly to get some money after he and Bud had an argument and Bud said he wouldn’t pay for JD’s cigarette habit. Working at the store fueled JD’s slushie obsession and he eventually got fired after an attempt to steal the machine’s mechanics to make one for himself.
Doesn’t feel one way or another about his name, but feels “Jason” is too fancy. His mother called him “J” and eventually he just started going by JD to avoid any potential recognition from the adverts Bud always has out. He’s irritated that Bud keeps calling him Jason even though he hasn’t gone by that name in years.
Bisexual but heavily leaning towards women because all the men he’s met throughout his many high-school careers are womanising pricks and he hates them all.
Very inspired by Ted Kazinsky and was obsessed with reading all about it when he was younger. His mother was very disturbed but Bud found it funny.
Has contemplated suicide very often, mostly out of habit more than anything else at this point. Written several of his own suicide notes, as well as writing what he think his mother’s note would’ve been (she hadn’t left one). Became obsessed with forgeries but was never any good.
Therapy would help him but he refuses to go even when he was able to (like a school counseler of sorts) because he has very traditional views about mental health stemmed from his dad who is very against the concept.
Kept getting expelled from the schools during a rebellious phase (usually whenever the anniversary of his mother’s passing came around). Bud eventually stopped caring altogether.
Born is Boston and when speaking one can sometimes hear it. Comes out a bit when he’s upset but he’s embarrassed by it so he shoves it down most of the time. Boston is also where his mother is from and she was adamant about going back there so her son could be from there too.
Nihilist after reading Niezsche (read him shortly after his mother’s death). Went in a spiral and grew suicidal and that never went away.
relationships:
Veronica: Cares about her a lot more than he has anybody before her. My HC is that before Veronica breaks into his room JD basically has a Beetlejuice “Dead Mom” moment where he’s asking for a sign to keep living, and Veronica came in seconds later so JD immediately believes of her as an angelic sign of some kind. He’s very obsessed with her and loves her a lot, but is psychotic about it. He wants to protect her but she doesn’t want him to. Anyway, he has a very toxic love towards her and he would and did go psychotic when she left him. (Considering in Meant To Be Yours he says he resorted to self-harm / punching walls, he was very dependant on her and she was one of the main pillars holding up his mental stability). Without her, he goes crazy. So that’s that.
Heather Chandler: Dislikes her especially after she made Veronica beg for forgiveness. He respects her to a very small degree after realising how well she kept Kurt and Ram in line. Had they actually had more interactions, JD likely would have had a rivalry of some kind with her. They probably would argue a lot and, out of spite, JD would attend parties just to irritate her. (JD is extremely petty like that since he believes he has no reputation to lose, considering he’ll leave in a few months anyway).
Heather Duke: He pities the remaining non-Chandler Heathers. JD prefers Duke to McNamara, finding Heather M to be quite pathetic (again, his negative view of suicide comes into play after hearing her talk about her suicidal thoughts). JD likes how well-read Duke is, and would’ve liked her had she remained as she was prior to becoming a new Heather Chandler. Began to dislike her only when she began spreading rumours about Veronica.
Heather McNamara: Doesn’t hate her, but doesn’t like her one bit. JD thinks her problems are her own decision, blaming her for them.
Kurt Kelly & Ram Sweeney: Finds them to be thoroughly terrible. JD doesn’t really like men in general because he hates his father and everyone sucks, but high-school boys are the worst. JD thinks they’re insufferable and channels his disdain towards the general populace into specifically Kurt & Ram, which makes it easy to kill them when the time comes. He was angered by their contribution to the crude rumours against Veronica, but that anger didn’t contribute to his decision to kill them as much as he made it seem.
Ms. Fleming: Profoundly irritated by her. He finds her to be very fake, and even after she speaks about her life he still finds her depressing. Dislikes her because she reminds him a bit of his mother.
Bud Dean: Has a very very very strained relationship with his father. Blames Bud for his mother’s death and constantly frames it as though Bud killed her. (JD has a complicated view of suicide considering he despises his mother for leaving him but is also suicidal himself, which he finds pathetic. He doesn’t like viewing himself or his mother as suicidal). He hates Bud more than anybody, tolerates him at the very most. They both treat the death of Mrs. Dean as a toughness contest (JD less so since he was rather traumatised by witnessing her death) and are very insensitive towards each others feelings. Bud pretends to be oblivious to JD’s very obvious mental problems and when he does bring them up it’s always in a mocking way to continue their contest. Anyway. He hates Bud and Bud doesn’t like him very much.
Mrs. Dean: Torn between revelling in nostalgia for the good times he had with her and hating her for abandoning him. Because he was poisoned by Bud’s negative views of mental health, JD grew resentful towards his mother after he realised that she had ended her life purposefully. He hates her more than he loves her, but doesn’t want to vocalise that hatred because he doesn’t want to acknowledge it. Had a very high opinion of her before she died, and after her death it was shattered. Hates her and tends to blame her for a portion of his problems, namely his own suicidal tendencies (says they’re inherited from her and despises that) and all of his mental problems.
The Therapist: Finds him to be extremely irritating. Lies to him all the time and is very vocal about his hatred towards psychology, finding it stupid. Begrudgingly doing the blog as a means of pleasing Therapist, but is secretive as to what he posts because he’s more honest on the blog since he feels as though what he says on it doesn’t matter.
Will most certainly add to this one day soon, just wanted to get this intro post done while I had the time.
