will they won't they (end this farce). there's only one bed (but for some reason they don't really want to share it). out of context eavesdropping (that paints the relationship in a better light than it deserves). chasing after them to stop them getting on that plane (and stopping them from finally being free)
nobody understands my vision i don't mean any old story where a relationship fails and it's tragic or w/e i mean a story where the intention is for the audience to root for it failing the same way u root for it succeeding in a romance. & when the relationship finally implodes at the climax of the story it's all very cathartic & everybody cheers.
Bill is feeling rather bold, knowing that he has an eldritch god hovering over him, ready to squish at a moment's notice. Bold enough to want to handle things himself...
As for how Bill 'knew' Ford was going to intervene, well. Bo did just forcibly snogged him just then, in a foolish attempt to be romantic. Ford has popped in for far less. (This is as far as this story/comic will ever go)
i know everybody wants to do 2014 tumblr sexyman bill but wokely but ive noticed a trend where peoples human bill designs are often the darkest skinned character in the cast. and well. it is interesting to me that you would pick the character who is very selfish and extremely violent and unpredictable to do that with. especially when most human designs of him are made with shipping in mind. and so you end up with the dominant controlling character in this abusive relationship being dark skinned. hm. interesting decision!
seeing fanart on pinterest where they design him to look arab specifically and all the comments are "omg wait why is this is so fitting for him" i think you guys are just racist
Gravity Falls is a fascinating exercise in censorship, coding, and implication because one of the main characters is an old man who spent 10+ years homeless, in and out of prison, running drugs across borders, doing sex work to survive etc but the main cartoon canon can’t focus on this obviously. it gets spread out across different material. so yeah Grunkle Stan is genuinely one of my favorite characters.
example: we know he was institutionalized because of an aside in a coloring book. we know he’s on some kind of psychiatric medication from an aside in the DS game.
actually, one of the really clever things that makes it into the show is finding out that one of his old identities was Andrew '8-Ball' Alcatraz. it’s a sly coded message (in a show all about decoding messages) that says Stan Was Incarcerated For Drug Trafficking. (8-Ball is a classic unit of measurement by weight for a few different drugs and Alcatraz is a prison.)
Now I wonder how much scholarship money Stanford was paid to even build it let alone keep it, how'd he even convince people to give him that much scholarship money given his plan was to basically live in the woods and study myths 😭

Now to discuss the asterisk on the Thursday prompt. Since this was a week I created specifically for myself and I'm just opening it up for others, I please ask you to respect my boundaries. I do not want to see anything shipping Bill and Ford with other Pines (or Bill's family) or children in the week's hashtag. This isn't petty fandom drama that you can argue with me about, this is MY personal boundary and I want it respected, please.
You can, however, do two Bills and a Ford, or two Fords and a Bill since that's just two of the same guy. You can also do selfship/yumeship/crossovers/oc x canon! Again, just don't include characters who are underaged or meant to be related to either Bill or Ford. Thank you <3
Most other days don't have any hard and fast rules. Sunday is Repentance Sunday, but it's meant as a sort of free day with no concrete prompt, so have fun! Only other thing I ask is that you please warn for any mature themes!
Honestly I wish ppl on A03 wouldn't label fics as abandoned in their bookmarks when the author hasn't stated that they are abandoned. or no longer being updated.
Sometimes we're just slow...and it can be really disheartening to see that tbh ;-;
MORE PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR THIS.
your public bookmarks are public, meaning anybody—including the author—can see what you put in a bookmark. and unless the author has specifically said the fic is abandoned, you (general you) don’t know if it’s abandoned or not. one of my favorite fic writers posted a new chapter of one of their fics after 13 years of no updates.
my point, you don’t know if a fic is abandoned just because it hasn’t been updated in years. you don’t know if the author will one day continue it. and saying “this is abandoned” just because it’s not updated regularly can be super discouraging to authors who write as their hobby and their gateway.
be respectful and considerate to fanfic writers who are kind enough to share their works with you to read for free.
The key to writing good fanfiction is to harbor a deeply humiliating desire, and the trick there is that even pretty basic and societally-accepted desires like “being held” and “being wanted” CAN and WILL be humiliating if they’re intense enough. Become so estranged from human connection that the idea of someone playing with your hair fills you with yearning so deep you feel like you’re going to throw up and you will write some banger fanfiction. It might have some other consequences too but idrk about that.
