So uh the joke is that Joe has a character. a stage persona for Combichrist - Nancy. At first, she looked like she did in the early photos, a little blonde girl. But later he changed her appearance, and she became… a brunette. An edgy dyed brunette. And if we look at Joe’s characters not just as costumes but as actual characters with lore, then I explain this change in Nancy’s image as growing up. I kinda have a headcanon about how differently Joe’s characters think (one day I’ll make a huge post about that), about the age they think at, and their intellectual abilities. And speaking briefly about Nancy, she’s pretty naive and not very smart. Both emotionally and intellectually. things like memory, math, and everything you could measure as IQ. I’d compare her to a four-year-old child with some developmental difficulties. BUT it’s important to remember that she’s physically mature, and sexual themes are more than familiar to her (gonna make a post about that too). So brunette Nancy is like Nancy in her teenage phase. She didn’t suddenly become smarter or anything like that, but she started changing like a typical teenager: she cut her hair… started wearing trendy, short, black clothes… changed her image… And that’s it. Nancy flies away… Nancy grows up. Wow. Shit.
