I just wanna spread a scam awareness, that just recently happened to me just now.
I posted new artworks that I made and then suddenly, someone on Tumblr named "stronglyviscousimp" commented on my post after just a minute. They told me, through the comments, that there's something going on with my account and I need to message them directly because they couldn't message me "for some reason" through Tumblr. And apparently, they and their friends "accidentally" reported my account for "phishing" because they thought I was the one who "stole" their money due to "someone" using me, as their identity, for "fraud." I first checked their account and once done looking through it, I thought they seemed legit and didn't look like a bot. They then told me to contact the "Tumblr support team" on Discord with a specific name after sending a screenshot of the "report", which is suspiciously VERY low quality and edited. But again, I was tired so I wasn't thinking straight. And because of that, I fell for it and contacted the person on Discord, thinking it was one of Tumblr's support team.
The guy they made me contact with was named "olivergrif" or "Oliver Griffer," and he started asking me for my personal information: My full real name, contact number, birthday, and email. I unfortunately answered it all. The only thing I lied about was my birth year. But once they started asking for a card or bank, I started to get skeptical about the situation. Due to not having any of that, they then suggested my parents' card instead. But, again, different time period. So my parents were asleep. So, since I was falling for it, I started to panic and started to ask for my friend's instead. Explaining to that friend while also not telling the entire detail because of the fear I felt of losing my account and all. But thanks to another friend who snapped me out by saying the guy doesn't sound very unprofessional at all and is very much impatient with the request, which is the bank number. After this, before anything else, I started to do some tiny research. Asking Google if this guy is the real support team. They said no and I then saw a particular Reddit post that was posted 4-5 months ago. They have experienced the same situation I dealt with and finally realized that the discord person isn't actually part of Tumblr support team and is a scammer. Thanks to the Reddit post, I was able to block the person on Tumblr and the guy on Discord before anything else. I then click the link that the Reddit post had, sending me to the REAL support team so I can send an email for them to check up on my Tumblr account if it will still be ok. Also changed my email password and turned on 2-verification security, which I should've had on long ago.
So for others out there, please be careful and don't be like me. Stay safe out there people. 🙏
