why are you doing this?

bc i’m a dyke & a christian, & i’m sick of trying to choose between those identities in queer & christian spaces. so i’m making my own queer christian space where no one has to choose between their queer identity & their faith!

this server is open to queer people who are looking for a christian space, christians who are looking for a queer space, & anyone who wants to engage in a queer christian community. i will also take a moment to state: this server is a safe space for POC & all queer identities.

What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?

It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.

My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂

Listen I have zero theological backing here this is all just vibes but hear me out

Christ is chilling after ascending, yeah? He’s up there with his still fully human body—he didn’t unman, that’s heresy. And he’s also got his full human mind and will and all. We also see him eat both after the resurrection and in the depictions of the afterlife we’re given (the literal wedding feast of the second coming). So presumably he’s got all the regular human needs and aspects still. Yes he’s God and thus has that connection and those abilities and all, but he’s also a regular human guy (again, gotta be both or u get a funky heresy).

He’s been up there for a damn long time, not to mention however long it may still be till the second coming

And we know he’s busy with the whole “preparing a place for my bride” situation and also the work of being Jesus Christ and answering prayers and showing up in the Eucharist and all that and acting in the world and I’m sure that keeps him incredibly busy and active

But like do we think his human needs ever also manifested as “I wanna do something for fun and relaxation now”, especially since him being God and ascended kinda lets him do all the things at once across time and space so it’s not like he’d be neglecting anything

Basically what I’m saying is

Do we think Jesus Christ has created some batshit hobbies while up there? Like he’s doing stuff for the funsies and vibes we can’t even imagine yet bc hey he’s also human

And yeah he also for sure is coming down here and manifesting himself for funsies too basic theology affirms that so see Christ in your weird local hobby groups too absolutely
