I am an incest shipper and I do not hide it, my blog has a tag for it and for when I talk about my ships or things related to them, I am not very vocal because I honestly prefer to be in the shadows, I do not like attention. I always tell myself that I do not care what others think, and honestly I do not care, if someone wants to stop following me they can do it whenever they want, however I do not like make people to feel uncomfortable, in the end I always end up thinking about others. 1/2

Because of what I’ve tried to make a blog just for those ships, they don’t last a week because I’m very lazy to have a secondary blog hehe. I don’t know a lot of incest shippers so making a blog from scratch, and not knowing what tags to use, discourages me a lot to make a new blog. 2/2        

If you’re posting incest on your main blog and tagging it, then you’re already doing your part in thinking about other people’s comfort. People should be able to curate their own experience, including not following or blacklisting tags.

I love all kinds of dark things in fiction, of course also fluff things but in dark moments I look for fiction things like cope, the fluff does not help me, it does not make effect on me, even if I try to see cute or pink things I can not, I need look for something dark or write it myself, I need to get it out of my system, sometimes I am surprised that other people do not do that but I do not judge, I have cope with very dark things please do not say that i dont should ship that, thats all

Using darkfic for catharsis is perfectly normal, and I wish people would stop judging over it too.

(age diff tw?) I have this really obscure ship of a character who's like thrice the age as another but I love their relationship so much?? Character A (older) is a parent friend while still being pretty affectionate on the levels of 'yeah they're definitely NOT related' but Character B has totally been mistaken as both a golddigger and an adopted child on more than one occasion.

Baffled positive confession: It's always funweird when you find a fic that hits like. MULTIPLE squicks and pet peeves, but the rest of it is good enough that you're happily putting up with it. (I don't read a lot of E fic. I tend to stick to platonic Sonadow because of headcanons about how they're related. Shadow calling Sonic 'Faker' drives me UP THE WALL. And yet. Such well-thought out worldbuilding around a heat/rut plot! I subscribed and eagerly await more.)

Very weird, and it almost feels like a self-betrayal for me. But honestly, well-thought-out worldbuilding is so good, I’d  read a lot of things I don’t usually like for it.

while my squicks and canon content morals generally align with anti rhetoric, I still read so much ZaDR (a human lad who's a child in canon, and an alien of indeterminable age repeatedly called an "old man" by the show creator) due to being unable to shake the idea that they'd remain on the same cognitive level as time went by and the sheer level of kinning I do with Zim as a hypersensitive autistic who's still being guided through their own relationship. it is my own legit problematic ship.

Nothing wrong with personal squicks or boundaries about what you want to see in canon, anon, and I hope your ship makes you happy.

i'm a semi-popular content creator in a good-sized fandom that has a lot of antis and i mostly get by by just not disclosing too much of my personal views, which i feel really bad about! i feel it's my responsibility to stand up for what i believe in more than i do, but creating is already so scary and i feel like my mental health couldn't take the discourse. recently, i realized i hardcore ship an incest ship and want to write, like, So Much fic for it, and now i'm feeling even more uncertain

Listen, as far as I’m concerned, mental health should always be a priority, and discourse is a particularly bad place for that. You matter too, and that is not something you need to feel guilty about- particularly not when standing up could lose you a probably important creative outlet.

If nothing else, please try to remember passive defiance is still defiance. Don’t spread nasty posts about other shippers, keep your work tagged appropriately, and keep creating what makes you happy, and that’s plenty.

On the last point- maybe an unlinked account? You can still create and share that way, although I get building a following could be harder. But it might be worth it for the tradeoff of keeping your main account safer.

Tfw you get back into an old forgotten Disney show from 2012-2015 that you watched as a 14 year old and you're Nasty now so you start shipping a grown adult scientist guy with a highschool freshman only to realize that the ship literally does not exist outside of your mind, plus the last remaining fans besides you are all antis so you can't even make content. (Also they'd probably call you racist since both of the characters are POC 😔)

I'm hella invested in an old ass niche series and ship the problematic stuff that blog records show was p much a given back in the 2003 anti-free circa, but there's no content and I cry. Through other fandoms I have met ONE person that knows the series, but I can't bring myself to even reference the ship. I guess I'll cave in and do smth myself... in about 7 years. Maybe.

No content is the worst hell, especially for older series where there’s not much chance of someone making it.

I also am grimly curious about what the Hot Take on Shadow's age is, since in his debut game he's apparently supposed to be physically/mentally 15, acts like he's 19 or 20, was created 50 years ago, and likely has at best a year or two of actually being aware. Any which way I guess we can't ship Shadow with ANYBODY since he's either way too young or way too old!

Shame, he has some nice interactions with Rouge in the comics. But yeah, that’s a mess to untangle.
