John Lennon's leather talisman necklace
A copy of the one he wore between 1967 at the launch party of Sgt Pepper, he also wore it on the 'Our World' broadcast of 'All you need is love', in photo sessions at his house 'Kenwood' in Weybridge, and during The Beatles visit to Rishikesh in India. Controversially, the leather necklace was the ONLY item of 'clothing' he wore on the cover of 'Two Virgins' with Yoko Ono!
It obviously meant a lot to him during that time.
The original necklace was sold through Christie’s auction house in London in May, 2004, for £117,250 !!!
Using vintage hand stained leather salvaged from a 1960s leather coat, I have added eight blue wooden rondelle beads and three hand painted daisies, with two vintage metal military style domed buttons and carefully burnished metal eyelets.
The necklace measures approx 20 inches and there are two metal press studs to give you the option of a looser fit.
