I like to think that Ilya’s jealousy would largely evolve into smugness once they’re married.

Yes, Ilya is canonically VERY jealous. But we’ve only known Ilya in a dark, insecure place where he can’t claim Shane as his. Once they’re married and the world knows it? I feel like he’d be the smuggest man on earth

Like, okay, he’s always gonna feel weird about the Rose Landry of it all, considering the circumstances. And he’s probably still gonna feel something feral unlock in him when people at bars get bold enough to hit on Shane

But when Shane does another shirtless photoshoot and thousands of fans are posting about how hot he is? About how badly they want him? About how they’d give anything for just a chance to lick his abs? That’s music to his ears. He scrolls through every post gleefully

He wants to reply to every post with “I won, I won, I won, fuck you, you lost you fucking loser, I was smart enough to call dibs as a teenager and he’s belonged to me since”, but for his husband’s sake, he restrains himself. He posts a picture of Shane smiling at him adoringly while drinking tea alongside one of their interlocked hands, wedding bands practically glistening in the light, and captions it something corny like “Mornings with my love 😍”

But anyone with any sense knows he really means “I won I won I won, he’s mine, always mine, only ever mine, I WON”. And then he goes upstairs to fuck Shane, because unlike these thousands of drooling fans, he CAN. He takes a moment to admire Shane flushed and begging and panting beneath him and can’t hide his smirk, because…fuck. What a gorgeous trophy
