Listen I get it but you CANNOT use "sensory nightmare" as an excuse to avoid essential things. You HAVE to find a way to make it work, such as finding effective alternatives. But you can't just avoid it.
You need to eat some vegetables in your diet or you will become a lich.
You have to wear a life jacket or you will literally drown and die.
You need to be able to exist in public spaces with children.
You have to find a way.
“everyone is mad at me and they just won’t tell me” —> “no one has said anything about being mad at me and i haven’t done anything to warrant being mad at so if someone is silently fuming about me and not saying anything that’s their problem and actually quite weird of them and i can effortlessly move on with my life”
this took SUCH a huge deal of unlearning because, like so many of you, i came out of a home where being quietly in trouble WAS the default state, and i DID grow up not just with the assumption but borderline religious conviction that Everyone Is Mad At Me, I Am Bad, I Must Exist In A Constant State of Attempting to Pacify The Natural Rage I Inspire In Everyone. and no it actually turns out that my family are the freaks . and yours are too
“this isn’t true because i DEFINITELY silently fume at people in the hopes they’ll figure out what they did and apologize” that’s not good. you shouldn’t do that
“this isn’t true because the ex-friendship that traumatized me ended explosively after they were mad at me and never told me why” that’s not good. they shouldn’t be doing that
“i don’t think this is true because my current friend group is constantly icing me out until i figure out what ive done to upset them and properly apologized without being told” hey thats not good. they should not be doing that
if the peacefulness of your relationship with someone (familial, romantic, friendly, anything) can be destroyed by effective communication/asking them for effective communication, you have got to get out of there. if you can’t get out of there, you’ve got to throw away any ideas about what that person thinks of you because they have their own shit to figure out before they can accurately read anyone else
if i were a dead wife i would want my husband to fag out kinda. i would be fujoing out from hell
Suffer with me..
drunk shane dropping down onto ilya’s lap and running both hands through his curls with that dopey little frog smile, “y’re so soft ☺️”
fixing their hair to see their boyfriend situationship
HEATED RIVALRY 1.04: Rose
"my great grandmother who survived 3 wars and raised 10 children by herself while working in a factory watching me go to therapy because my parents yelled at me" ok but your great grandmother was also miserable. maybe your great grandmother would be happy you try your best to not be miserable
Connor really loves his Swiss cheese tee haha.
after they say i love you at the cottage and commit to building a life together, ilya points out to shane that he’s saying rozanov incorrectly, putting the emphasis on the Ro instead of the Za like in russian
“i’ve been saying your name wrong this whole fucking time?”
“is okay, many english speakers do that”
“it’s not okay, it’s your name”
ilya shrugs and they go back to their afternoon but shane makes a point to say it correctly moving forward
and it confuses mlh media and other players when all of a sudden shane is referring to roZAnov in post-game interviews or in the locker room. hayden and JJ exchange faces and mouth “what the fuck” whenever he does it or corrects them and the media only tolerates it for a little while until one new reporter asks
“one last question, shane, we’ve noticed your pronouncing ilya rozanov’s name differently. does that have anything to do with your budding friendship?”
and shane gives the best PR answer of all time, focusing on the irina foundation’s mission and impact, and he acknowledges his mother’s own experience with a non-western sounding name and how he’s committed to making sure hockey is a place where people feel accepted and welcomed
and everyone is just like there’s our perfect king, which yes, but also ilya will watch the interview on his phone in a random hotel room a thousand miles away, smiling at the screen, and swipe over to messages to send shane: ❤️
“Why does this character have to be Black?”
Why shouldn’t they be?
“Why does this character have to be a woman?”
Why shouldn’t she be?
“Why does this character have to be gay?”
Why shouldn’t they be?
“Why does this character have to be trans?”
Why shouldn’t they be?
“Why does this character have to be disabled?”
Why shouldn’t they be?
“Why does this character have to be fat?”
Why shouldn’t they be?
The hollanovling developing a special interest in cars, but not in the f1 racing go super fast way. no they want to take the beast apart and see its innards. Ilya is very charmed by his garage buddy and is happy to teach his little shadow how to do basic maintenance on all the ones in his collection
Right until the kid starts heading for his Cayman with a wrench and a gleam in their eye. Ilya buys the first junker he can get his hands on and the two of them spend all of their freetime taking it apart and trying to put it back together well enough that it runs
Shane after Ilya finally gets to fuck him with his glasses on.
it’s fine to be critical about the books and it’s fine to be critical about the show and it’s fine to be a hater but honestly. the way some people on here are so critical of the books AND the show AND the fanon AND rachel reid AND the cast and crew AND every other thing they can possibly find makes me suspect that. perhaps. they’d be happier not thinking about or engaging with heated rivalry at all
like. it could not be clearer that if you are engaging with the Shane And Ilya Love Each Other story in which the thesis statement is always gonna be ‘shane and ilya choose each other again and again and again’, while thinking that shane and ilya’s relationship is unhealthy and bad and they shouldn’t be together, you’re setting yourself up for misery and would be infinitely happier doing literally anything else
How my Ilya looks at Shane when their extremely talkative 2 year old baby introduces them to a complete stranger like:
"This is my daddy Shanebug and my Papa Asshole" 🌈😾😺💓
do worry, they bite.
