A while ago I was thinking about a detail in the Black Widow movie and I was wondering what other people think about that. It's been some time since I've seen the movie, so maybe I'm not entirely clear on the details.
Near the end of the movie Natasha 'severs the nerve', right? So she won't be be able to smell Dreykov's scent or whatever that influenced the Widows to be unable to harm him, something like that. But after watching the movie, I was wondering if that meant that the Natasha we saw in Infinity War and Endgame no longer had a sense of smell. See, I've googled whether it's possible to regain it, and Google said it might be, BUT, tha chances are small and you should take it easy and like, train or something (once again, been a while, bit fuzzy on the details). Now, that does not sound like Natasha's lifestyle. Especially not between the events of Black Widow and Infinity War. Maybe during those five years after that, but I doubt she'd be focused on something like smell training. So, what I want to know is: do you think she permanently lost her sense of smell?
The reason this is so important to me is because I myself do not have a sense of smell (never had, although there are some strong scents I can vaguely smell, so technically I have incredibly little sense of smell, anyway). So it touched me to see some kind of representation, it felt like I was seen, you know? And maybe it's just up to interpretation whether she did lose it permanently, but if you can just 'interpret' that she didn't, then that representation is also kinda meaningless, right? Well... I mean, not entirely, not to me, but still. It feels less real, if that makes sense.
So anyway, does anyone know? Any ideas about this?
