Wynter shook her head, stifling a laugh. She wasn’t laughing at his suggestion–or at least not directly–but at the way he said it. Like maybe it was a friendly teasing sort of thing, and she liked that. “No. Well, sometimes, I guess, yeah. If i can’t pick what to read, it’s nice to have like a way of narrowing things down.” Wyn wasn’t a particularly picky reader. “Non-fiction, huh?” It wasn’t that surprising. Julian was so serious all the time. She couldn’t exactly picture him with a fun romp-style book. “Is it all, like, biographies of important people or history books about war?” She didn’t know if he’d take it teasingly like she meant it, but they were stuck together, so what was the worst that could happen?
He could almost ignore how they got themselves into this situation now that they had something to talk about. Talking about books seemed like a safe enough option even if they had different preferences. "I guess that makes sense. Like setting a mood with the right kind of music." Not that he'd been much of a person to do that either, but he could at least understand the gist of it. "Biographies more so than history pieces," he shrugged. "Essays, academic journals, critiques... Not exactly the most fun array to some people, but I can't always get into some of the plots of fiction stories." Now that he'd said that, it did bring up a question for him to ask. One he was more genuinely curious now that they were on the topic. "So what do you like about these books anyway?"
