Julia: I don't think I'm wasting the best years of my life. I think anyone who categorizes one period of their life as the best, is just setting themselves up for a mid-life crisis or the like. I'm perfectly happy growing old and settling.

Camila bit her lip, both laughing slightly and turning a bit pink. “That’s not a bad idea. Both going with Human Sexuality and getting a head start. What do you normally study?” She decided just to glance away from the textbook and focus on their conversation.

“I figured it’d be interesting, but I’m sure there’ll be a couple idiots giggling in the back of the room. I’m normally a Bio major, I’m kind of thinking about genetics. I haven’t totally decided yet though. What about you?”

“We can watch the first one and the last half hour of the Lost World, at that point we might as well watch that Godzilla movie with Matthew Broderick,” she laughed, about half-serious. She really did like the T-Rex in San Diego scenes, they had some interesting parts that could’ve easily been transferred to a full movie. “But like, I’ll watch the third if there’s snacks I can drown myself in. Then I’ll ffinally watch Jurassic World, just because I like the look of the Indominus Rex.”

Leila: He did kind of spend three years away from her proving he was worthy of being her royal consort??? But maybe I just have a soft spot for science breakthroughs like his surgical arm :-p sometimes those stories don't but most of the time for me they don't. I FORGET WHICH ONE WIN WAS, CARMEN WAS THE LEAST SPIRIT ANIMAL-Y FOR ME WHEN I READ THEM WHICH IS TOO BAD BECAUSE NOW I FEEL LIKE I'D RELATE TO HER SO WELL.

Leila: I know, but I've been speaking it my whole life os i sticks better, I guess. WHY DID MY PARENTS NOT START ME LEARNING CHINESE WHEN I WAS 2 OR SOMETHING?

Julia: I found the "surgical arm" thing to be really ill-conceived. But I'm too super rational for ridiculous things like that, I guess maybe a huge chunk of why I didn't like Michael was because he was such a know-it-all but he was usually totally wrong. Like at least Lilly was portrayed to be totally pompous about her intelligence, Michael was just annoying about it. WIN WAS THE DUDE VOLUNTEERING IN THE HOSPITAL SHE MET WHEN SHE WAS BABYSITTING LENA'S AWESOME GRANDMA WHO WAS SAD AND MISSED GREECE. I am probably Carmen in a lot of ways, but I hate it because she's such a bad Latina stereotype in a lot of ways. I bottle my emotions and Carmen definitely does not.

Julia: Yeah, practice helps. It's really hard to become truly fluent in another language unless you spend enough time speaking it, even my Spanish is rough since I've barely used it the last few years. Honestly high school and college language requirements are kind of stupid because in all likelihood we'll forget them before we get a chance to really use them.

“Are you the reason for all the forest fires in Cali?” he joshed and cocked his head, narrowing his gaze on Julia. “I don’t know why you’d want to get rid of your powers. Like okay, you just tried to kill me by setting me on fire just a few days ago but come on, fire doesn’t always mean destruction or death. Fire can also mean life— since you know, we need heat to survive. I think what you can do is cool, actually. You’re like a portable camp fire. You just need to stop using hatred and rage when using it and then maybe you can control it. Think of it like… a SUN inside of you! The sun is needed for photosynthesis which allows us to survive since oxygen is made in the process that keeps us alive. Maybe it’s your destiny to be one to keep people alive in times of darkness. Maybe we’re actually reincarnation of ancient magical warriors and that’s why we have these special abilities,” Dick enthused as he basically just said everything that was coming to his mind.  “I don’t annoy you. You just get yourself automatically worked up with everything I do and say because it gives you reason to be mad at me. I mean, I do say some pretty shitty things and do awful stuff but you’re just always so impatient  with me even when I actually try to be nice. Maybe if you would just suck it up and treat me like an actual person then we’d get along.”

“No, walking around at peace with nature doesn’t exactly make me angry. It’s mostly people that trigger my powers.” She rolled her eyes, “Literally the only benefit I have is that if I ever get caught outside in a blizzard, I won’t catch hypothermia. Which is only a small consolation when you’re ‘power’ is burning people alive. Why would I want it? So I can make a couple hot dogs as a camp trick? No, thank you.” She shook her head, “You really don’t get how science works at all, do you?” She looked at him flatly, “I’m pretty sure you just enjoy annoying people. Isn’t that why you’re telling everyone you have evil quintuplets? Do you know how genetically unlikely having identical quints would be? There’s been exactly one reported case in the last hundred years.” Julia paused, “What nice things have you done, besides try to con me out of an enchilada?”

Is it scuffling towards the Nutter Butter?”

“He could kind of use brain tissues as arms, but Crang wasn’t really the hugging type. I’ve never even tried since I was a kid, I used to get so frustrated. It’s really ridiculous how many kids toys require full-on adult set up though.” Julia listened, hearing a rush of water after a moment. “I think one of the boys upstairs is just going to the bathroom,” She couldn’t help but laugh.

“I hate to bust your bubble, Kon, but we don’t actually have any proof that Dick isn’t Mr. Anesthesia. And even if he isn’t, he’s been using his powers to make other students think they’re insane. There’s you, and then there’s Garrett who thinks he’s an identical triplet or some bullshit. Dick has him convinced he “killed” his brother. I did and because of that I resolved never to use my powers, not to use them to psychologically torment others. No, it’s not on the table. If you want to become Robin to someone’s Batman, then by all means becomes BFFs with Dick.”
