I finally figured out how to Google Translate my Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam cover story, and some of the translation of how my life experience influenced my music is truly the best thing I have ever read!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I added the article to my link in bio. You’ll have to put it in Google Translate to read it in all it’s precious glory. Below is one of the best passages. The last line is particularly killer:  “There’s always a bit of ghost in Julie Mintz’s music. Surely many people will think that she has a rich imagination to be able to write that music. Correct! But is also comes from the singer’s life experience.  So, don’t be surprised to learn that Julie used to work at a funeral home. Link in bio for new music out now Thank you for all of the heartwarming comments on my Harper’s Bazaar cover! The interview and article inside the magazine is written in Vietnamese, so I’m working on finding a translation I can share with you soon. Until then, I thought I’d post some of the images from the spread over the next few days. One thing I do remember saying in the interview is that it is unbelievable to me that writing songs alone in my bedroom for many many years somehow eventually brought me the opportunity to be on the cover of a worldwide high fashion magazine, talking about those songs. Very grateful to Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam for having me as their March cover story, featuring the release of my new single “Revolution” out now. Link in bio.  But if you take anything from this: Don’t compare your insides to other people’s outsides.  I thought this was going to be a high point for me. But sometimes...things fall apart. With no indication of when they will come together, professionally or personally.  As a perfectionist, I have suffered under the weight of trying to appear perfect. When playing live shows, when having my picture taken, when doing interviews, when writing songs, when going on dates, in every aspect of life. I thought perfection would make me feel safe, would make me feel like I was enough. It never has. So here I am, looking good on the outside, perhaps, but still struggling to feel ok on the inside.  If this has been a rough time for you, I’m right there with you.  “These pains you feel are messengers. Grateful to @americansongwriter for making my cover of “Revolution” their Daily Discovery.  Several years ago, I took a course on the songcraft of the Beatles where we studied the music theory, chord progressions, and rhythms of their songs. I don’t remember any of it because it was really complicated! Like the hardest math you’ve ever done! But it gave me even more reverence for the Beatles than I already had. Recorded this in 2016. Didn’t seem like the right time to release it, and then I forgot the track even existed.

A few days after the Capitol Hill riot, Moby coincidentally found the abandoned song in his computer. He remixed it that morning and sent it to me with a note to release it asap. I still wasn’t convinced I should do anything with it. Feels sensitive for many reasons...

To my surprise, some very kind djs at KCRW began playing the song on the radio, and people asked where they could hear it again.

My best answer: Nowhere.

But finally I had to admit, maybe I should make a video and just release the song.

So here’s my homemade Revolution video. If it moves you, please repost.

The only thing more exciting than having my Millenium cover revealed on The Daily Mail today was...reading the comments! I was really scared because Daily Mail trolls are known to be savage, but the 1st comment was: “she writes songs about the dark inner workings of her mind but poses with her tots out and her legs open!” Oh my god that really gave me an unexpectedly good and much needed laugh today 🤣🤣🤣!! I say if you love your ‘tots’ quite a lots, why not show them off?! Thank you to everyone tagged for making this such a sensational cover reveal day for me (and my tots).
