Juliet was born to a fragile family with neglect, she met her husband when she was 16 and had high hopes to become a lawyer. Unfortunately, she got pregnant at 18 and gave up on her dreams to become a mother. Her marriage to her husband, who had connections to the mob (while family is left open for connections!), was not ideal, the two being known for their constant fights. He was constantly unfaithful, something she had always prided herself over, and had a great deal of rage towards those he slept with.
Five years ago, he finally decided to cut ties with her and the two filed for divorce. Juliet had never had any independence, but with her husband’s connections, and years watching him do his mob work, she found a way into the Commission, preferring not to swear loyalty to one family in specific. Only a year later, her husband was found dead. There’s speculations that the scorned ex-wife had done the deed, but she’s never been prosecuted so she argues that’s hearsay. Now she’s secretary for the Commission and just tries to make sure everyone does their damn job.

There’s not really much to remember from the time before Philip. Juliet was born in Brooklyn, to a family that probably never should have had kids. She didn’t know what love looked like, only that her parents weren’t interested in one another and the fact that she’d caught her dad having an affair when she was ten. The first of many moments, that would become. She had a younger sister, too. One she doesn’t talk to anymore, or even mentions. That life long since passed. Long since buried.
Juliet was a smart girl, too. One who planned to become a lawyer. Perhaps just on the sole purpose that she was good at arguing with others. But it didn’t matter. When she set her sights on something, that would stop her from nothing.
But then Philip came along. They met at a party, and he was tall, and handsome, and spoke sweetly. They started dating when she was fifteen. It was the only time she felt special, really. It was the only thing dazzling about her life. He had money and status and she didn’t know where it came from but he picked her and that’s all that mattered.
When she was seventeen, she got accepted in NYU and nothing felt more special than that. Only two months later, she found out she was pregnant with Philip’s child.
Perhaps it was his first method of control. To keep her tied to him forever. It worked, considering Juliet was young and hopeful, feeling like she was gifted an opportunity to do things right when her parents hadn’t. So she collected her diploma with a pregnant belly and declined her acceptance into law school. Philip was going to be working all the time after all, so someone had to raise the baby.
Two years later and she was married, with baby number two, and Philip told her of his crime connections. Of course she was angry, but he didn’t give her much opportunity to argue. That’s just the way it was. So she settled. She kept her head down and took care of the babies.
Then the first mistress came around. Pink lipstick stains on Philip’s boxers. It was completely embarrassing. History was repeating itself and she didn’t know what to do, but she knew she was being made a fool just like her own mother. Which she refused, so she found the woman’s work place, and keyed her car. The keyed Philip’s car.
Very Carried Underwood, she’d say at her weekly book club.
This would go on for years. Just like her own parents, there wasn’t really love in her marriage. Passion, yes, absolutely, but the love had died in her early twenties and there was no getting back. But she had to raise the children and he had all of his work. And perhaps Juliet couldn’t handle the idea of him being on his own. It was easier when she could see him cheating, when it was within her right to enact revenge.
It wasn’t up to her anymore, though. At forty, the divorce paperwork was filed and Philip was free to fuck whoever he wanted, and Juliet was in charge of sending their kids to college. Until she refused to let him hold down her life, even after divorce.
She never got to go to college, but she knew people now, and Juliet didn’t want to just sit on her hands anymore. So she made phonecalls, she got coffees, and baked a whole lot of pies. It got her in the office of the Commission and the rest is history.
Until, of course, Philip turned up dead in a motel. His flavor of the week had found him, overdosed on whatever it was that was getting him high then. The murder was suspicious to say the least, but after Juliet’s initial questioning, she walked, and the death has been ruled as an accidental overdose.
Now her kids are grown, she’s secretary now, and she’d just like to claim the success and power she was never allowed to before. She’s waited this long, it’s about time.

i will be sending in wcs for her children soon but if you’re thinking of another muse, she has two kids, who are 28 & 26
i left philip’s mob ties open but i would love to have him connected to a specific family! he doesn’t exactly have to be blood related or particularly high ranking, he was just involved, and that would have given juliet a social circle in her years of marriage and now potentially some folks who aren’t her number one fan... considering.. she might have killed him.
those who’ve had relationships (romantic, friendships, falling outs) with her children
someone she slept with (post divorce)
someone she tried to go on a date with, did not go particularly well for whatever reason.
someone who tried getting in her pants when she was still loyal to her hubby
close friends (preferably 40+)
others with children who come for mommy guidance (she is mommy supreme) or sometimes need a babysitter (she’ll do it for free, she is Always in baby/children fever)
gals pals who wanted to drag her out after her divorce to ‘get back out there’ or get drunk or wtvr
fellow girl bosses !
