“You’d say that, but it offers something for every member of the family?” She offered up, before letting out a little sigh. “Go see Crazy Rich Asians. It’s amazing and you’ll love it.”
Juliet smiled at her. “I could always make it a double feature,” she suggested. “But if I’m taking Kai one movie is probably enough, and shouldn’t be animated.”

“You don’t? I feel like I eat out all the time. But, that might be because I still haven’t finished unpacking yet. It’s terrible. I- I keep on telling myself I’ll get around to it and just never have,” She told the other with a little shrug.
Juliet smiled. “I’m a vampire,” she clarified. “I don’t need to eat out unless I feel like treating myself.” And generally speaking, she didn’t like going alone. Kai didn’t eat human food at all, so he made for a poor dinner date.

Brianna nodded her head as she barely took her off her other shoe. “ Oh, don’t be sorry! I should be the one who needs to be. I’m normally not this grumpy..” She told her feeling a bit guilty that she basically jumped down this person’s throat. “ I haven’t seen him, but he’s probably in the other on call rooms? And plus I wasn’t sleeping just yet.”
Juliet offered her a smile and nodded. “Well I’m glad I didn’t wake you. I’ll have to go find Kai in a bit. Surely someone his size can’t be that difficult to track down,” she joked.

“Oh true. I guess that means I’m going to get all old and wrinkly then. But, hey! At least I’ll be able to get away with more things then! Maybe I’ll even be that crazy grandma who dyes my hair blue or pink or something,” She said with a little smile, not really being one to mind the idea of getting old.
Juliet laughed. “Oh you could pull it off,” she teased. “And fifty years from now I’ll be looking like your sweet granddaughter that thinks dying your hair is just one of those weird old people things,” Juliet replied, laughter in her tone.

“Here, take this.” Ripping a piece of paper from her notebook, Mags quickly scribbled down her name and a phone number, an excited smile on her face. “This is my name and my personal number. I always have my phone on me so just shoot me a text or call and I’ll book a day with the admins and we’ll figure out a day.”
Juliet stopped and watched her write down her contact information. If it all worked out it definitely wouldn’t be a bad field trip for the kids. “Thank you,” Juliet replied. “It’s very sweet of you to offer, so we’ll see what the administration can work out.” She paused, tucking the slip of paper into her purse. “I suppose I’ll see you around then.”

cori brushed aside the dark curls of her hair out of her face as she listened to the person across from her. tanned fingers traced the rim of her glass, as she smiled over at the person across from her. “well i can certainly try fix your problem, shouldn’t be too hard. i mean that’s what i do. little magic and all your problems will be gone.” she smiled. “of course there is a little payment needed….if you don’t have money i do accept favors. just a small one.”
Juliet listened to the woman speak and chuckled. “Witches accept favors in exchange for services rather than payment. That’s new,” she commented. “Where were you two hundred years ago when I was trying to get a daylight ring?” It had been quite the process to get one, especially in such a sunny region of the world.

“Damnnn, son,” The words spilled out of her, before she realized what she just said. “I- I’m sorry. I don’t know where that came from.”
Juliet laughed when she said that. “Oh it’s fine. The nice thing about vampirism is continually looking great for your age,” she joked. Not aging was a nice perk.

“Yes. You have to,” Gemma smiled brightly over at Juliet as she said she might swing by the theater. “Out of what’s playing right now? Crazy Rich As-” She started to say without second thought, before second guessing herself. Not wanting to come across as a stereotype, she quickly changed her answer to, “Incredibles 2. Yup. I know it’s technically for kids, but it’s totally a perfect date movie. Yup…”
Juliet chuckled and smiled at her. “Incredibles 2 sounds like something my students will be really into as soon as school starts back up,” she told her. “It doesn’t really scream date night movie though.”

Brianna had just gotten done doing a ten hour surgery and her feet were entirely sore. She just needed to take a short power nap. So she headed into the next on call room and took her shoes off. When she heard the door open she sighed quietly loudly, “ Please tell me you’re not here for me. I swear I haven’t heard my pager go off…” She told the person who was coming in.
Sometimes when Kai worked overnight shifts, Juliet would go to the hospital and sleep in the on call room with him. It was comfortable for them. They liked being close together. When she stepped into the room and heard the voice, Juliet shook her head. “No, sorry,” she murmured. “I thought Kai was in here. I’ll let you get back to sleep.”

“I- I know right? I’ve been living here for almost half a year now and I still haven’t made a dent in their menu,” She told Juliet with a little smile.
“Really? i don’t eat out too terribly often,” she admitted. “So I probably haven’t either if I’m being honest with myself.”

“You haven’t? No You have to go! It’s about the experience of it all. You get to watch the previews, so you know what you want to see next, you know what happens in the movie as soon as it comes out so it won’t be spoiled for you, and, if you go with a date, you might have your hands in the popcorn bucket at the same time,” Gemma said, being way too much of a movie theater enthusiast for her own good. “Plus, you’d get to this adorable face,” She joked.
Juliet laughed while Gemma spoke. “I’ll see if I can talk Kai into going with me,” she told her. Of course she could. It wasn’t hard to get Kai to do the things she wanted to do. Juliet just didn’t want to go by herself. “What movie do you recommend I see?”

“I can today, Julie.” He was practically beaming with excitement that he could, in fact eat and taste and enjoy food. When she noticed his heart beating he grinned. “I’m human…for a day. I’ve forgotten so much about being human. Food didn’t taste like this when we were. I can barely remember but I know it didn’t. This is…heavenly.” He marveled at it. At how different things were compared to him being a vampire. It was almost as if he forgot, chucked his humanity aside over the years and never looked back at it.
“Human,” Juliet mused as she looked at him. “How did this happen?” She honestly did not know what to think. There was so many ways this could end and she hoped it wouldn’t give him a taste of something he could never have again. That would be heartbreaking. “I’m glad you’re enjoying the food though...things have definitely changed in the last two centuries.”

“Think of the pies, fam. Think of all those frosted as shit cookies. We gonna get our goose cooked because of a Thanksgiving turkey? We gonna let that honey-glazed ham laugh in our face? Hell no we ain’t! So don’t you quit on me. The holidays are comin’ and we gotta prepare for that carnage.”
“That would be more effective encouragement if I was human,” she pointed out. She had no need to eat food or exercise if she was being honest with herself. Of course that didn’t stop Juliet from indulging now and then.

“Oh. You mean like a ‘chocolate bar’?” She laughed, rolling her eyes at that. “But yeah. Level Up! is pretty sweet and I get to see free movies which is always a plus.”
“That’s exactly what I mean,” Juliet replied. “Ooh that is a plus. I haven’t been to the movies in a very long time. Netflix is just so convenient it’s hard to resist when it’s just right there.”

“Okay. Well um… maybe the Hellmouth? They kinda have everything?”
“That sounds like a very good idea,” Juliet replied. “You can never go wrong with the Hellmouth.”

“I just wasn’t expecting it, is all. And here I was talking to you like you were around my age. I’m sorry. How old- how old are you by the way? If you, you know, don’t mind me asking?”
Juliet nodded. “Looks can be deceiving. That is very true,” she told her. “I’m nearing two hundred and fifty.”

“It’s easier now. It’s been years, but on occasion there’s a stray thought, a memory that will pop up and you just think about the could have beens and the what ifs of life.” She shook her head. “But it’s only a stray thought. Because reality is I’m still here for a reason. Most of my old pack might have been slaughtered, but I’m still here to make sure others aren’t hurt like that.” That was at least what she told herself and what got her through the time right after their deaths. Sure she tracked and murdered those that hunted supernaturals and something inside her died with each kill, but this life was her new normal.
Juliet nodded. She couldn’t imagine how difficult it had been for her, but hearing that things got better helped give Juliet faith that things would always get better. “That is a very good perspective to have,” she told the werewolf. “It’s important to focus on the reason you are here and keep pushing for the good things in life. It’s what you deserve.”
