Hey there! Welcome to my blog!
I'm Juliana, but my friends and family call me Juli — pronounced like Julie! And my full name is Juliana Sofia Ruvolo-Carranza. (I know, it's pretty long, and a lot to sign on papers, but that doesn't make me love it any less!)
Here's the most important things to know about me! Without rambling too much, that is.
I'm 14 years old, so no invasive or weird questions, please!
I'm mixed race — my mom is Mexican and my dad is Italian!
I'm currently learning both Spanish and Italian, but I've made more progress with Spanish so far.
I've lived in Hacienda Hills for two years, but I was born in San Diego, and I go to school in Fresadena.
I'm bisexual. Not sure if I have a preference, but I've had a lot of crushes on girls in my classes over the years!
My birthday is April 14th! That makes me an Aries, though I don't know a whole lot about astrology.
My favorite school subject is science! Especially biology. Chemistry is really fun, too!
I used to be the assistant captain of the girls' varsity soccer team at my school, but I was promoted to captain at the end of my school year! I'm so excited to take over the role when I start 8th grade in a couple months. I can play any attacking position, but I mostly play as a winger.
My favorite color is green (obviously), but purple is a close second! Both are so versatile and beautiful.
Outside of soccer, I really enjoy tennis, surfing and biking. I also really like baseball and softball, even though I stopped actually playing it years ago. And outside of sports entirely, I love baking and cooking (especially with my parents), reading books, journaling, planting in my fruit and veggie garden, music and collecting things! I'm also starting to get into makeup and nail polish, and as a way to stay active when it's summer break, I've started taking folklórico dance classes with my tía, who has her own studio in the city.
I have an older sister, Carmela! She's ons of my best friends in the world, even though we're pretty different as far as personalities and interests go. I also have an older half-brother, but he lives a bit far away and is a lot older than me, so I don't see him as often and it's a different kind of relationship.
Some of my other best friends are the girls I play soccer with (hi Rafaela, Charlie, Vani and Juno!); my cousins Luju, Nico, Anaya and Elena; and my classmate from social studies class, Tabi. She's a cheerleader for the school's competitive team with Elena, and she's super talented! She even made efforts for the team to begin attending the girls' soccer games throughout the school year, and set up a jewelry stand on the sidelines that helped raise a ton of money for us — don't tell anyone else I said this, but it might be one of the most thoughtful gestures a friend has ever done for me!
I think that's all there is to know about me! I hope we can all become friends, and I look forward to answering your questions! 💚
