A particularly talkative fruit had filled him in on June’s return to town, but Javi still found it so strange. She wasn’t really meant for Frostford, of all places, she had big dreams to achieve and a fashion house to start and— he couldn’t really judge the marriage bit. Marriage was hard. 

“So how long do you plan on staying?” Javi asked as they walked around. “You okay bein’ back at the orchard?” 

“I don’t have any plans to leave,” June shrugged. When she came back to Frostford, she intended on staying. “I don’t wanna hear it, Javi --’M happy here. I’m okay with bein’ at the orchard, for now at least. It’s only a matter’a time till Mama drives me crazy and I start lookin’ for my own place.”

That’s what they were singin’.” Seeing the blonde immediately reach for her sewing supplies eased his worries, she was his hero. Maybe that’s why he was so eager to unbutton his pants right then and there, and drop them to his ankles. ”You’re a real life saver, Drops of Juniper.”

“Boone!” The blonde couldn’t contain the string of giggles that escaped her. To say that him immediately dropping his pants was jarring was an understatement. Thank god nobody else was in the shop. “Y’couldn’t wait until you were in the dressing room?”

Once every three days, without fail, Jeremy would text her at noon exactly. Sienna didn’t have the heart to block him, though she was sure he’d assumed she’d already done it. Why else wouldn’t she be replying? After six months and hundreds of check-ins, the man with the big ego just had not let her go. His most recent text had come when she was out with June, her phone beeping in her purse as they tried to have a civilized meal without any distractions. 

She knew what it was, though, and couldn’t help but want to talk about it. “I didn’t think I had to make it any more clear for him, you know?” she said, pulling her phone out of her purse and showing June the lockscreen. “It just feels cold to block his number.” 

Part of June felt bad --after all, it’d been her idea to set Sienna up with Jeremy back in New York. She’d figured they’d be a good pair, but she hadn’t imagined that her ex-brother in law would have fallen head over heels, so much so that he couldn’t accept her friend moving on and back to Frostford. “The heart wants what it wants... But I feel kinda terrible that he won’t leave you alone. He’s still...family, in a way. Want me to talk to him?”

“Sure! Though I won’t look as nearly put together! I’ve got a ratty old raincoat and a pair of discolored boots. Lord, when I was younger, my mama dressed my sisters and I up in cherry printed raincoats... I wish mine still fit.”
