I’m late, unecessary and this post will have no impact even tho it’s sooo long but here is why I think Silver Boys deserved better…
YG made the biggest mistake not debuting Silver Boys in middle 2018 or so. Like he could have debuted them, they could have been monster rookies and then he could have been surfing with the hype with Treasure Box with the 3 other teams competiting.
Let’s be honnest, Silver Boys deserved more than anyone else on the show their debut and all this stupid survival show was just YG disrespecting them. They had to compete against trainees that were unknown, inexperienced and that had less training than them. It’s just ridiculous at this point.
Seunghoon literally trained for 9 fucking years. And what about Midam, that left ? He was the oldest, he should have debuted. What about Hyunsuk and Byounggon, that went through another survival because of YG’s thirst for money, that won and should have debuted. That struggled for months only to see YG destroying their dream by cancelling the Mixnine group. And let’s talk about how JYP himself told Doyoung he was super talented and an amazing dancer. He can even choreogarph and he is sooo talented.
Silver Boys has it all. They’re the full package. They trained so long with each other, they went through a lot, they have chemistry, a beautiful friendship, a super great teamwork and a hope to debut all together. But YG crashed it all by putting them against younger and newer boys.
I mean, the other trainees were really talented and worked hard during the show (and i fell in love with all of them tbh) but they were lacking so much more compared to Team A. YG’s favoritism is no joke when obviously Team A had a bigger impact than all of the other teams together. The votes showed it all. Junkyu and Yedam must be honnestly so sad despite being happy to debut.
I’m not saying Junghwan and Haruto don’t deserve to debut, of course they do. Just not now. Timing is very important for idols. They’re so inexperienced, juveniles and it may be my pov, but they lack charisma and stage presence compared to Silver Boys.
And to all YGTB stans getting mad at Silver Boys stans for saying that Junghwan didn’t deserve this spot more than the Silver Boys is wrong. Because it’s true, training for 5/6 months is not enough and YG should have chosen to debut the trainees that trained for a longer time. Seunghoon that trained 9 years being beated by a 5/6 months old trainees is insulting. Between someone that worked hard for 9 years and someone who just came and got offered the opportunity without really knowing the struggles of waiting long for their debut is infuriating.
Silver Boys could have been another monster rookie group, just like ATEEZ or Stray Kids, but YG is wasting this potential and except for Yedam and Junkyu, the group will get lost in all the 2019 debuts. I really feel like they’ll have no real impact. YG really isn’t YG anymore. They’ll feel like all those other idols, and will not have the YG vibe. Some may think it’ll be a good think, but I think it’s important to continue to have this ‘YG is a wall’ thing.
Anyways, I can’t do anything. I will still support the YGNBG even tho I’ll be still sulking about Silver Boys. And I hope that for the remaining Silver Boys it’ll be either they debut all together with OT9 (most likely not but a girl can dream) or no one debut in OT7 and they form another group without Yedam and Junkyu.
And please do not hate on Junghwan, he just wanted to debut like all the others, the fault’s on YG. Constructive opinion is okay, but free hate is not.
And let’s pray for YG because karma’s a bitch and it’ll not look good for him.
