Tell me why I was just spontaneously struck with the insane knowledge that Lloyd Garmadon is Princess Mia from The Princess Diaries. Walk with me for a minute:
Both characters showcase a visceral dislike for the position theyāve been put in (like Lloyd not wanting to be the green ninja/fight Garmadon at first and Mia not wanting to be a princess) but then grow to be extremely responsible in their roles.Ā
Both carry big āchosen oneā energy due to the sheer unexpectedness and heavy responsibility of their roles
Both are taken advantage of romantically because of their position in their role (Harumi and Josh)
Both have romances after the first romance where they were taken advantage of with someone who is not entirely honest about who they are and then it snowballs into a much larger mistrust that eventually sorts itself out (Akita and Nicholas)
Both have a very outspoken character close enough to be like a sibling who greatly encourages them to use their talents for good no matter how shitty the circumstances are (Lily and Nya specifically in Hunted)
Both have a wise yet surprisingly quirky older relative leading them in their role (Master Wu and Queen Clarisse)
Both have a father who was absent through majority of their childhood but not in the least unloving (Garmadon and lwk I forgot Miaās dads name)
Both are seen as somewhat childish considering their supposed responsibilities, but still show insane poise for someone in their situation (especially considering the crazy shenanigans that occur in their respective plotlines)
I know this means something I just donāt know what⦠*stares off into the void*
One of the most interesting things about Ninjago not really having a solid timeline (in terms of years or ages) is just how much of a mindfuck Lloydās age is to the fandom.
I have genuinely seen it all. Iāve seen people claim he was like 14 in season 8, Iāve seen people claim he was 25 in season 14, Iāve seen people claim heās like 18 in the first season of Dragons Rising.
AND LITERALLY ANY OF THEM COULD BE RIGHT! The vast majority of them actually have evidence to support them!
I love writing Cole as a character because my two favorite methods of writing him are
So shamelessly me projecting that itās barely Cole, itās just me
Spending literal hours researching his speaking patterns, thought processes in the novels and semi-canon novels, and behaviors that my friends and family grow concerned, all for the sake of being as close to canon accuracy as humanly possible
I watched the Lego Ninjago Movie for the first time in a while today
omfg the bar to consider Garmadon a āreformed parentā was in literal hell
but also that movie was funny as hell so all is forgiven
Lowkey this is a little late but Happy Mothers Day to Edna Walker, my favorite mom character in Ninjago. May your casseroles contain all the love and flavor of a Midwestern mother and your inventing notes always be on point
I FOUND LLOYD
Also huge shoutout to the employee who literally hid some of these in the back to spite the scalpers and gave me one
Kai and Cole just started dating on my Tomodachi Life island guys Lava is realšš
Yall im going to be stuck in the car for a long ass time tomorrow so uhhh
send Ninjago related asks for me to answer to fight the inevitable boredom
Apparently this blog is a year old today.
omfg Iāve been yapping about Ninjago for so longā¦ā¦
I love how in season three part two of DR Lloyd keeps offering to pay Rogue extra money
Brother where are you getting this money
The only possible source of income that could possibly pay ninja (the government?) is now effectively dismantled because of the merge where are you getting this dough
what is your side hustle and can I get in on it?
Honestly Iām very grateful to the performative Ninjago fans for making their status known by spewing uneducated and frankly terrible opinions online all the time
makes it way easier to know who to stay away fromšš
Yall Zaneās English va just confirmed that he thinks Zane is autistic and I cannot describe what a big win this is to meš
Zane my boy we love to see you winning in the big 2026
I just bought the Dragon Lloyd off eBay because I will be DAMNED if I pay $110 for the dregon boy in this economy
heās actually a medical necessity, I need him to make it through finals
Dregon Lloyd save me from certain doom (failing all my finals)
My boy is home I am so happy
and it didnāt cost me $110
Being a āgenetics donāt work that way, Lloyd definitely has dragon/oni traitsā truther since I first saw season 8 and seeing the sudden influx of dragon Lloyd content due to DR season 4 has been such a good time
Iāve been here since before it was cool but yk what Iām not even going get into that rn Iām just going to sit back and relax and enjoy the (quite frankly amazing) fanartšš

Dr Season 4 spoilers ig?
I love the fact that Lloyd asked Tween Lloyd āAre you happy?ā In episode 7. Because I think it encapsulates the very common yet often unacknowledged experience of feeling guilt for the past. Not necessarily that you feel guilt about events or decisions, but guilty about leaving it there. In the past. Guilty that youāve moved on, whether it was for better or worse.Ā Like, feeling guilty because a past version of you never got to see the you youāve become today.
Lloyd went through this tenfold, skipping over the latter half of his childhood, so one can only assume feelings like that would be amplified. But until this point, Lloyd really hasnāt talked about the tomorrowās tea or the effects it had on his mentality. But this season alone, oml. That acknowledgment of how the tomorrowās tea messed up his life, along with the āyouāre just a boy pretending to be a manā line from Dying to Live does an incredible job at showcasing how truly guilty Lloyd is about the tomorrowās tea incident and how bad he feels for leaving Tween Lloyd behind.Ā
As someone who feels this particular species of guilt fairly often, I adored the portrayal of it in these episodes, especially since itās hardly ever framed like it should be in media. In shows and movies itās always guilt over specific actions instead of your past self or the past as a state of being, and again I feel like thatās something Dying to Live did really well. Lloyd does feel intense guilt over specific actions, like the ones Enemy Lloyd used against him. But he also expresses shame for his current state of being as a concept, and how what heās doing/who he is now is just generally āworseā compared to other times in his life and what he shouldāve achieved or done at this point.
