thoughts on stranger things season 4 volume 2
SPOILERS AHEAD!
- i’m glad that they made will more explicitly queer this season, but i still need him to say the words “i’m gay” to someone. johnathan, mike, joyce, i don’t care. he just needs to say it in season 5
- the writers need to commit to killing their main characters. if they want to kill them, they need to kill them and let them stay dead. el, hopper, brenner, and now max. the emotional impact would be much greater and if they do it correctly, it won’t incite outrage from the fans
- stop introducing characters just to kill them. stop.
- although will crying in the car hurt me, i understand the scene. he can’t just tell mike how he feels because it’s the 80s and i can’t even imagine how scared he feels
- hot take but i loved the russia subplot
- i thought that giving nancy and johnathan relationship problems was an interesting plot point of the season, but put her with either one of the other. stop flip flopping and, as i’ve said earlier, commit
- i think there was too much time spent on el’s “training” because like, i get it, she needed to get her powers back and she needed her memories to understand one/vecna, but it seemed so drawn out! it also doesn’t help that one of the things that makes stranger things so iconic is the humor, and all of the characters in that subplot are very serious
overall i just feel like a lot of the things in volume 1 were set up great and then volume 2 kind of let us down. i don’t think it was bad by any means, i still love it, but a lot of things could have been handled better. they set up that a lot of things would change and then nothing did.
it almost seemed like they had too much time and too much money to make the show. they overshot the ending and it fell short. for season 5, i think they need to reel it in a little bit. not a lot, but just enough to keep it true to the characters and not stretch themselves too thin.
that part in Everything Everywhere All at Once where Evelyn chooses kindness and it turns out every single person carries some kind of pain that just needs to be seen so that even a small gesture is enough to turn that pain that manifested as violence into peace and comfort

It's a good time to bring this tweet back 🥺💕
i have so much love in my heart but no one to hold it, so i put it everywhere i can. i put it in my tweets, in my instagram story, in the captions of silly tiktoks. i post my love everywhere, but yet give it to no one.
How Impractical Jokers usually punish each joker:
Sal- usually something that has to do with his germophobia or fear of cats. It’s usually something the average person wouldn’t be afraid to do.
Joe- they try their best to humiliate him since he’s basically invincible to embarrassment.
Q- something demeaning, cringy, or makes him appear as an asshole.
Murr- they try to kill him
