A year ago today I was inducted into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated by way of the Epsilon Psi Chapter. It's still unbelievable that I am a part of this illustrious sisterhood. One year down, a lifetime to go. #AOML ❤️🐘

Last night I felt inadequate. At any moment A feather would land on my shoulder & I tip over, I was lost. Last night I cried. I cried b/c No one was there to hold me, When I was young, I felt strong. Could do no wrong b/c I was brave, Last night, I forgot I had power. I. Have. Power. & my power cried out. I cried & then I cried b/c I cried. But Strong ppl cry too. & just as the sky is blue I'll be okay. Last night I felt inadequate, Then I woke up.

Experiencing catcalling when you’re not conventionally attractive is such an internal predicament. Because on one hand, when you experience it you’re repulsed. Because it’s still harassment. But on the other hand- you finally feel that someone finds you desirable. And as fucked up as it is, it validates you for yourself.

And if you don’t experience, you wonder if something is wrong with you, like you’re not pretty enough or desirable enough for it.

And I just think it’s really fucked up that our society has shaped us into thinking that there must be something wrong with us if we aren’t harassed, that if we are its okay to feel good about it. It’s fucked up.

Channing Dungey Named ABC Entertainment President, Replacing Paul Lee

Channing Dungey, EVP of drama at ABC, has been named Paul Lee's replacement at ABC. She's the first African-American woman to lead a major broadcast network. Dungey, who was instrumental in the development “Scandal,” “Criminal Minds,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Quantico,” “Army Wives” and “Once Upon A Time,” will now report directly to Ben Sherwood, president of Disney/ABC Television.

Just want to repeat that she’s the first black woman to lead a  major broadcast network in case y’all missed it!
