the most difficult task the gods would have given hercules if he had been trans: putting on a binder right after showering
friendly reminder NOT to wish your transmasc friends a happy international women's day today
happy international women's day to all women across the globe, especially to trans and intersex women!
y'all are amazing and deserve the world❤
i fucking hate gender dysphoria
do you know what kinda pisssed me off today?
i was feeling kinda euphoric and so i sent a picture to my (cis girl) friends with a text that said "i love beong a man, favourite pastime fr" and part of one of the girl's reaction was "that would sound so problematic in a different context" (she complimented me first but still)
and i was like thanks now i feel bad
but it made me think and now i'm kind of pissed off, because why couldn't a man just enjoy being a man? like i get it, woman hate men because they do bad shit a lot of the times, bit like there is nothing inherently wrong or bad about being a man and enjoying that. yeah sure this sentence could sound bad from someone who revels in the idea that he has power over other people, especially women, but like that's not what this was about? and it just kinda brought my mood down and made me feel bad, for being a trans man, but like that is just so wrong.
but idk do you guys think im overreacting? is there any basis for this? i'd love to know what you guys think, or how you feel about this, feel free to give your own two cents
why is it that cis girls get surprised when a trans guy tells them they want facial hair?
it was so cruel of nature to make it so that i cannot make my hair grow by sheer willpower
what do you mean i can't have my hair buzzed one day and shoulder length the next
no one prepares you for the type of pain that is being trans trying your best to pass and to look like yourself, but it doesn't work. you are just a stranger in the mirror
being trans can be so surreal sometimes, because what do you mean i get dysphoria from having a mental breakdown
imagine sitting on the floor crying and then suddenly thinking: 'you really are just a girl sobbing like that, real men don't cry you know'
like what the fuck, this is so wrong on so many levels
it's actually so frustrating when you go to an event or just spend time with people as a trans person, and you can never fully enjoy the experience or just be fully present because you constantly worry about what you look like or how others perceive you
like i just want to be able to be in other people's presence and enjoy their company without thoughts like 'are my boobs visible under my binder?', 'am i sitting masculinely enough?', 'is my voice too girly?' going through my head
like i don't care, man, just leave me be
sooo... today i bought a roll of body tape at the drug store in hopes of trying to bind with that like one would with trans tape. needless to say it didn't go well. which okay i expected it not to go well so i really shouldn't be surprised. which i'm not. but somehow i am still disappointed. maybe not entirely because this attempt went horribly, but because lately i've been binding with a binder and i have a large chest and it never was really working. and i've tried taking it in a bit so maybe it would work then but it still didn't bind my chest like i wanted to instead it jist became tighter and more uncomfortable, which wouldn't be a problen if it made my chest look masculine or flat but it didn't. and this just really frustrated me so i wanted to try transtape but i don't really have easy acces to it so i had to use body tape if i wanted it quickly. but it didn't go well and now i just feel like nothing is working.
and i just really needed a win today because it's been kinda rough, and even the possibility of t shots and top surgery is so so far away, so i just feel miserable
and the fact that my family doesn't support me or that i live in a transphobic country doesn't help. i feel so alone and hopeless all the time
here's an art piece i did a couple of weeks ago, it doesn't look that nice but it helped me channel some of my frustrations and anger against my mother.
just wanted to share it and see what you think about it
is anybody else terrified of talking about things related to being trans to their friends who they are out to and who are actually very supportive?
like in theory i am totally safe with these people, yet i still feel weird about even just making offhand comments about my transness and my experience.
why am i so scared of them just one day having had enough, or getting bored with me being trans? why am i scared of them suddenly rejecting me because it's been going on too long or i've talked too much about it? why are these even thoughts that cross my mind? why are these legit fears that i have?
i think it's really tragic that as trans people we have to be scared of these kinds of things even if they don't have any proof or maybe even much possibility. because all our life we've been conditioned to think of peole like us as weird or freaks or even that we don't exist, so now we just fear that those who accept us now could suddenly realise that what we've been taught is correct, and trans people actually are weird and freakish and we aren't actually the gender we know we are.
but there are also so many instances when somebody says they support trans people but then turn around and say transphobic shit. so we have to be cautious around the people who say support us too because we can never really know whether they truly mean it or whether they just think they support us but actually don't.
and i think this is fucked up. and that this just makes being trans that much lonelier and isolating.
i'm so exhausted my eyes hurt and i really need sleep, but unforunately my brain cannot slow the fuck down and stop thinking about my day and all the slightly awkward social interactions i had
i just love it when i am relatively comfortable with my gender and all it takes for me to feel absolutely horrible is one single person misgendering me one single time
it's so funny how i can go from "yay, gender is fire today, i can actually maybe recognise myself in the mirror, and do kinda look like a guy" to "i just saw a picture of eddie munson on pinterest, remembered i'm not him, or a real boy and now i want to scream my lungs out and cry myself to sleep" in a span of fucking twelve hours
being jealous of 8 year old little boys for getting to have what i never could, as a mostly closeted, 18 year old transmasc hits different ngl, like if things just could have been different, that could have been me 10 years ago
also seeing old pictures of myself and just hating the innocent little girl looking back at me, like it's not her fault, she doesn't deserve to be hated, yet i still do, i still hate her for the way she is
