What’s the story behind your username? I feel like I need to ask since the ‘frans’ in it brings up a sour taste in any utdr fan’s mouth

Oh boy. From what I remember around 7 years ago, I got into Undertale via comic dubs and animation memes that were mostly AUs of it.

The two that captured me most were "Echotale" and "Sooner or later you're gonna be mine" comics, both of which had Frisk/Sans (kinda) as a major relationship. I think around that time I changed my handles to "frans4life"... 🫠ahh teenage me, storing psychic damage to deal to me now.

But I wasn't in the trenches of fandom, since the dynamic that compelled me was like, not at all close to canon. Fanworks of fanwork type rabbitholes, I had just started near the end of one and mostly lost interest once I reached the end of those works.

I'm vaugely aware the ship is controversial, of course with Frisk being a child in canon (though from what I understand, most Frans content was made as agedup self insert by young artists?) but never got into the weeds of it.

I still liked the "Frans" nick though, and it is a real name, so kept it. I wasn't expecting to get dragged back into ut/dr fandom proper, so I might change it to "Franz" for more distance like I have on other sites.

i was seeing comments about the seeds of megatron always existing within d16 in relation to the line about transforming into a shovel and hitting orion. didnt want to discount it but had remembered it being more of a close-friends-play-threat characterisation more than anything.

but rewatching tfone, he does it a lot?? way more than i registered on first watch. orion also gives him shit and takes the threats in stride, but he doesnt match that specific teasing energy.

these ones arent threats but i think are interesting for similar reasons. orion provoking darkwing has more reason behind it. implication that d16 thinks he's helping orion here by visibly punishing him but d16 pulling his punch (though not sure about that one.) still, owie!

when train hopping, orion and b-127 hide but d16 just goes straight for incapacitating elita. like to be sure, talking would result in her happily selling them out, but d16's split second decision was to go for a tackle. hard to tell what ratio of 'first instinct violent'/'i know our former supervisor and this wont end well if we hide or try dialouge' it is.

it implies a competitive streak that we only otherwise see briefly during the iacon 5000, tho actually might be an extension of his "protocol/power is god" in which case that does get explored lol.
