operative phrase here is i did it specifically on my weird route save. i did not do this on my regular save. i spent two hours grinding for revivemints very specifically on my chapter 4 weird route save in preparation for the chapter 5 weird route, going in completely blind.

Thoughts on chap 5?

i really enjoyed it overall but it was a real mixed bag for me, i'll put more below a spoiler warning

AS A DISCLAIMER I HAVEN'T PLAYED THE WEIRD ROUTE YET AND WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN AS UNSPOILED AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE UNTIL I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO so please refrain from commenting on the weird route literally at all in the notes thank you !!!

it was absolutely gorgeous, and i really liked the emphasis on ralsei this time around. his arc felt like a very good follow-up to chapter 4, where he's expressing his own opinions and frustrations and also not keeping susie in the dark when she asks. the pink secret boss i felt was also really important for this, since ralsei explicitly tells a lightner she should listen to and respect a darkner's wants, too.

the light world segments were sooooo cute, and i was kind of going insane pointing at the screen during the sans punch card scene. the ending of the chapter also made me very emotional with susie considering castle town her home and preparing it for noelle.

that said, having just replayed ch4 a few days ago, it had an insane difficulty spike (mostly in how much damage the bullets did), was sooo agonizingly long with weirdly spaced save points, and i felt the ensemble cast fell flat at times. asgore also kind of felt like a disappointing addition since he really didnt do much and has a super quick change of heart at the end. i know this was also advertised as the last fun adventure, but the fact that susie says that tomorrow you have to do something in ch4, and then Nothing happens in ch5, is a bit of a letdown.
