Julie + Coley's big day!
Featured Today: Meg + Landon's wedding on Martha Stewart Wedding!
Meg has been a good friend of mine for years. So when she asked if I’d help plan her wedding the answer was of course yes! Meg is by far one of the craftiest people that I know. She’s an incredible photographer and has a knack for creating interesting things. Her entire wedding was a true testament to her crafty side and love of all things created. From the hand-sewn invitations to the custom picture frame favors — everything was homemade.
Martha Stewart Weddings just featured Meg + Landon’s photos — by the truly talented Jen Fariello.
Stay tuned for more beautiful images from Meg + Landon’s big day!
Monica + Andy's Rehearsal Dinner
Rehearsal dinners are the best. They let you into a couple's past, present + future. Their closest friends and friends gather to honor them, to toast them (sometimes to roast them!). I love hearing stories of the past, how friendships were made and kept. It's just a little preview of the good times to follow.
Below you'll find a glimpse into Monica + Andy's rehearsal dinner at Keswick Hall. Thanks for Aaron Watson for the beautiful photos. And to Maureen McKenna for being my wing-woman!
and stay tuned for their wedding pictures...
What's not to love about Laine + Rob's stunningly sweet Montpelier wedding?!
Martha Stewart clearly loved these images from Jodi Miller too -- check out the rest of Laine's images here!
Ceremony Altar and vintage details provided by Stonegate Event Rentals.
Thanks to Laine + Rob for sharing their big day... the colors, textures and venue all came together in one brilliantly beautiful celebration!!!
Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs.!
A Charlottesville Wedding Gift
I am honored to be a part of the Charlottesville Wedding Gift -- a contest that will throw one lucky Charlottesville couple the wedding of their dreams. Vendors from across our community are donating their services – every detail will be taken care of: from the venue and photography to the planning and decor. We are pooling our resources and our time to create an event of a lifetime for a lucky local couple.
Interested in entering the contest? Head over to our website www.ACharlottesvilleWeddingGift.com, grab your honey and tell us your story. We've got some amazing judges standing by ready to read your entries and select our winner. Contest opens today and closes on April 15th. And the fun begins now!
loving winter
Winter gets a bad rep. And it's obvious why. It's cold (most places). It's dreary (not in California!). The trees are bare and the only flowers you see are the ones you have to buy.
But winter also means the turning of a season. It means snow (usually!) and it means warm fires, hot apple cider and movie nights. It's one of those seasons that I always grin and bear, but it seems to go as soon as it's arrived. And it always makes spring look pretty darn good!
So, although it's February, and still very wintery in Virginia, I wanted to share one of my favorite styled shoots... you guessed it...from winter!
Elisa B teamed up with Stonegate Event Rentals and Sugar Magnolias {among a lot of other talented people} to create this styled shoot. It makes winter look glamorous + sexy. Almost desired. And before too long -- the grass will be greener, the air warmer and even the flowers will start to bud. For now - I'm loving these photos and the warmth from within them.
So cheers to winter, and all that it has to offer!
just a few...
I’m getting ready to launch my new website (it will launch here — so please stay tuned!) and have been going through thousands of photos from events from the past few years. I’ve found myself getting lost in the images — there have been so many amazing couples, families and details that I’ve shared in the planning process and celebrations with — it’s hard to whittle the photos down to a few!
So I’m testing myself… here are “a few” of my favorite images and moments from Isabelle + Andrew’s wedding this past December at King Family Vineyards. Love this couple and their amazing families. So near and dear to my heart. xo

Happy Birthday Roy!
81 years ago today, in the midst of the Great Depression, Roy Vomastek was born in Escanaba, MI. His lifelong passion for golf was sparked by caddying as a young boy and stayed with him through joining the Army out of high school, serving our country overseas during the Korean War, then returning home to Michigan where he became a doctor and raised his family, impacting countless people along the way with his kind, generous and fun-loving personality.
And while Roy always had a knack for golf, as he got older, his game got better…culminating in a match for the ages in the 2010 Club Championship at Dr. Alister MacKenzie’s legendary Crystal Downs Country Club.
You can read his remarkable life story in the soon-to-be-published NSPYR ebook… ROY: The 78-Year-Old Champion by Brian Mulvaney & Jay Lavender.

winter wedding wonder
I promised there would be more -- and here they are! More photos from Isabelle & Andrew's big day. Isabelle decided to get ready at home, surrounded by her sisters and cousin, her mom and dad. It's fun to see her family's house and style shine through in the photos of her wedding day. After all, there's no place like home!
Thanks to Sarah Cramer for these photographs!
Isabelle + Andrew: a winter wedding!!
One of the most beautiful weddings took place December 22nd at King Family Vineyards. Isabelle + Andrew said their vows in front of a crackling fire, oodles of candles and their friends and family snuggled in close to hear. Her father wrote and played the most beautiful wedding song -- and as the guitar and violin filled the air, it was hard to think of anything other than the couple's love and future together. I've known both Isabelle + Andrew for a long time, and felt so lucky to be a part of their big day. More photos to come...
Thank you to Sarah Cramer for this one... and much love to the newly hitched Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin! xxo
It always feels like Christmas morning when I get the photos back from an event I’ve planned. And this one was no different. I’ve known Carmen my entire life — so when she and her mom asked me to plan her wedding, I was beyond honored. You can tell it was a special day for a lot of people. Congratulations to Carmen & Andrew and their amazing families!!
You can watch their day unfold here in their slideshow.
More to come!
{And thank you Patricia Lyons for this slideshow of images that make us laugh, smile and tear up over and over!}
We've got 2 holiday open houses this month!
and you know what they say... the More the Merrier!
I hope you can make it!
