I’VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT

SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG IS A-No. Not that, sorry.

Hello my faithful followers! I’m here to make an exciting (although tentative) announcement for this blog! Finals are coming up fast, and after that I will be having a good bit of free time on my hands. This time period is when I am hoping to kick off the beginning to something that’s been in the works for allllmost a year now, and I’m gearing up to release the first part of it soon! What I am talking about is a little story that I like to call.... R.A.W.

Now I’m sure more than a few of you are going ‘the hell is that?’ right now. No worries! I will explain everything!

R.A.W., or R.adiation A.ltered W.ildlife, is a completely original story thought up by yours truly! It is the story of a genetically altered rabbit, (named Marmal) and his struggle to fulfill the purpose he was created for. This story will be told in a hybrid fashion: I will be uploading written chapters to Archive Of Our Own, then posting the links in tumblr posts on this blog and my main blog, actuallynobutwhynot. I’ll also be including supplementary artwork, in order to enhance the reading experience.

I must warn all excited readers, however; seeing as life is life, and school will eventually restart in spring, my uploads, both in art and writing, will be somewhat erratic. I apologize in advance, and hope y’all can forgive any long stretches in between uploads. I will do my best to give you guys top-quality content to enjoy!

If people are leaving websites that have chosen to no longer censor their users or prevent misinformation from spreading, I have horrible news for them about tumblr.

Meta has also started more openly encouraging the use of bots on their platforms, filling their content with even more AI slop. I think the combination of openly striping their hateful content policy + fear of being buried by bots is driving it.

They have also apparently said it's okay to refer to women as property

That was the big headline, but what it translates to is that they're not going to care about harassment of women and other minorities, and it's basically open season on queer and trans people. Zuckerburg has declared he's moving moderators from California to Texas so that they aren't beholden to hate speech laws that are stronger elsewhere. He's basically copying Elon Musk.

As for why he's doing this, Meta is desperate to pitch 'engagement' as actual usage and content viewing to keep money flowing from advertisers. It's a pretty blatant and vile ploy and I can't imagine thinking it will work after witnessing the big exodus from X/Twitter to Bluesky.

NEW UPDATE Meta has also just announced they're making it so there's no way to avoid "political content" so if you remain on any of their platforms, you can now look forward to being fire-hosed AI-generated conspiracy-filled nonsense.

So, uh, welcome new Instagram refugees, but I gotta be honest, we're pretty weird here, Bluesky might be the better bet.
