Stall Attendant: “Ah, there you are. Mx Quick, do you have a moment?”

Apricot looks up as they hear an unfamiliar voice calls out to them. A townie with bright red hair, dressed in a smart suit, beckons them over. The sim looks totally, not at all suspicious. Curiosity takes over Apricot’s rising concern and pushes them towards the booth. The table is sparsely decorated. It would be hard to tell what career field they represent.

Stall Attendant: “We’ve been waiting for you. Your academic record is astounding. Your programming skill rivals that of your ancestors. We -“

Apricot: “Why are you speaking to me like you know me? Who are you?”

Not phased by their monologue being cut off, the stall attendant places their hands on the table, leaning forward. They take on a powerful pose, but Apricot is surprisingly not intimidated by it. Their mind races, but they don’t let their nerves show. The cagey career representative gives more hints away about their job field with each passing moment.

Stall Attendant: “You don’t know us, but we know you. Your family has a long history of working for us…”

Apricot’s eyes widen as it suddenly dawns on them as to who this strange sim represents. Their family is so vast that they’ve worked in many careers. There’s only one organisation that decimated the family’s recent reputation that would be this shady with them. They raise their hands, backing away.

Apricot: “I know who you were for. I’ll never join the criminal career!”

The stall attendant merely smiles, looking impressed that the student already guessed who they represented. Apricot’s grandmother, Hex Quick, was a prolific criminal that tore apart the Quick family. The Llama Gang has a lot of nerve to come out of the shadows and try to recruit another family member two generations later!

Apricot spins on their heel and runs over to their siblings. Baker and Tea might not be taking part in the career fair, but they need to know about the criminal career stall. No Quick family members should go near that recruiter!

Once the lunch bell rings, concluding the end of the break, the whole school ventures from the school to the auditorium.

Apricot’s heart hammers excitedly as they catch sight of the banners blowing gently in the breeze. The auditorium has been decorated with bright, inspiring posters and streamers. The sight is actually prettier than prom (in Apricot’s opinion at least!).

Career Day is hosted by Copperdale High every year for recruiters from different job fields to showcase their work. Apricot can’t wait to take their time at every stall, ask loads of questions and learn a lot about every career!

Apricot grabs their brother by the arm, digging their fingers in with a solid grip. They don’t realise they might be hurting their sibling, due to the anticipation rushing through them. Baker shrugs them off gently, a knowing smile crossing his face.

Baker: “You’re the only student excited for the career fair itself. Everyone else is just happy to have an afternoon out of the classroom.”

Apricot: “How can you not be interested? We’ve only got a few more years until we graduate! I wanna go to uni but I don’t know what I wanna study! This…”

Tea: “Alright, Smarty Pants! Some of us just wanna wing it day by day. Come on, let’s get you inside. I just wanna chill on my phone, so you can distract the teachers by hogging all the career representatives’ time.”

Baker rolls his eyes at his younger sister’s teasing yet rebellious statement. Apricot throws a baleful glance at their brother as Tea drags them into the auditorium. Using the studious sibling as a distraction is just mean! But, does this benefit everyone? If Apricot takes all the attention during the career fair, they get to ask all of their questions. Other not so interested students can slack off whilst the teachers are distracted.

So, Apricot gives in. They change out of their computer club uniform and walk into the centre of the fair. Time to let their excitement and curiosity bubble over!

It’s a big day for Apricot! They’re one step closer to completing their Goal Oriented aspiration!

Copperdale High is hosting its annual career day! Apricot needs to tick this off of their aspiration, but they’re also keen to network. Their next step after high school is university. They don’t know what they want to study yet, so seeing representatives from different job fields would aid their decision.

As the career day will run past the usual finish time for school, Apricot hosts the Copperdale High Computer Club during lunch. There’s an online coding competition coming up with a prize fund that could support the club for a whole month!

With the rest of the computer club to speak to, Apricot is able to concentrate and push aside the butterflies swirling in their stomach. One of their newest club members, Duncan Ota, worked his way into their heart. Seeing him watching them with an intent, impressed glance could be distracting, but Apricot is always professional and keeps their cool.

Grabbing their lunch, Apricot waved the rest of the club members to a table in the corner of the lunch hall. Their fellow students focus on them, idly eating their food. The Copperdale Computer club is made up of sims who either dropped out of other clubs or felt they didn’t fit in elsewhere. The members often tell Apricot that they’ve found their place finally. As the club leader, Apricot has their utmost attention and respect.

Catching a brief, supportive glance from Duncan, Apricot smiles back at their crush. Time to get down to business. They pull out their tablet from their inventory, load up a programme and pushes it to the middle of the table.

Apricot: “Hi, everyone! Thanks so much for giving up your lunch break for our club meeting today. I really appreciate your time. Let’s get down to business…”

Copperdale, Copperdale High School ~

One night, Mercy wakes up with a start. Her heart hammers in her chest as she blearily stares around her darkened bedroom. Words rattle around in many voices, like her ancestors are calling out to her.

Danger! Wake up! Now!

Mercy scrambles across her bed to flick on her bedroom light. Just as her hand reaches the switch, she pauses. Light from the hallway suddenly seeps under her bedroom door. It’s the middle of the night. Her children wouldn’t be awake. Could it be the family dog, Mochi, or some of the strays she looks after?

Creaking floorboards finally draws her out of bed. That’s too heavy footing for an animal. There’s someone in the house that shouldn’t be here! How could a burglar get in? There are dogs all over the property! Has Mercy taken such good care of the strays that they’re just super friendly and relaxed around any sim?

This burglar made one big mistake - Mercy is the ex-police chief of Newcrest PD! They don’t stand a chance against her! Steeling herself, Mercy throws open her bedroom door, catching the burglar by surprise!

Mercy: “Stop right there! You’re under citizen's arrest for trespass and attempted robbery!”

The former police officer’s voice is so strong and commanding that the burglar instantly throws up their hands, surrendering. Mercy hears more footsteps thundering up the stairs, but she recognises their rhythm.

Mercy: “Sun, call the police. Suspect detained but we need an officer STAT.”

Sunny’s not afraid. They call directly to Mercy’s former police station, requesting immediate assistance. The response is so fast that the burglar is in cuffs and being marched away just as the rest of the household stirs.

Once an air of calm falls on the Quick household, Mercy finally collapses from the stress into her platonic soulmate’s arms. Sunny soothes her hair, muttering their gratitude and pride in Mercy’s rapid response.

Mercy won’t sleep for the rest of the night. She’s security proofing the house and updating all of their alarms!

Sadly, Baker can’t keep Apricot’s crush quiet! Once the siblings finish up their school project and go their separate ways, Apricot finds their sister, Maple, eagerly awaiting them in the kitchen.

Apricot sighs and shakes their head. In a big family, it’s hard for secrets to be kept. They know that Maple’s eager expression is well meaning, but they bristle a little at their emotions being exposed.

Maple: “Riiiiiccccooooo…”

The sing sing tone of Maple’s voice grinds on Apricot’s nerves a bit. They suck in a breath through gritted teeth as they try to smile through their annoyance.

Apricot: “Yes, Mae?”

Maple: “Bake told me something…”

Apricot: “I’m surprised, but I shouldn’t be. Bake loves to gossip.”

Maple’s smile falters when she finally notices Apricot’s annoyance. She raises her hands in a placating gesture, genuinely looking remorseful.

Maple: “I’m sorry, Rico. I wasn’t going to tease you about Duncan. I’m just…really happy for you. You’d make a cute couple.”

Apricot tries to play down their feelings for Duncan. They try to change the subject. However, sibling and sister don’t notice another sim walk into the dining room, overhearing their conversation.

Tea folds her arms over her chest defensively as she hears Maple praising and encouraging Apricot to share their feelings with their crush. However, Tea’s big sister wasn’t as approving of her relationship with her girlfriend, Raine. It’s unfair and makes Tea feel even more of a void with her siblings.

She spins in her heel and stomps away. She slams the door of her bedroom, hearing the hushed voices suddenly stop. She doesn’t care if her siblings knew she overheard then. They’ve once again disappointed her.

A few days pass since the big family get together, pushing the Quick family back into their regular routine.

Baker keeps begging Apricot to finish a school project with him. He’s very capable of finishing the work himself. Apricot knows there’s another motive behind wanting to work with them on the project! Eventually, they can’t keep making excuses. Baker beams victoriously when Apricot finally agrees to work on a project with him.

Within minutes of Baker and Apricot sitting down to start the project, the grilling begins! Apricot tries to look at their phone, concentrating on the project instruction manual, but their brother is easily distracting.

Baker: “How’s it going with Duncan?”

Apricot ignores their brother. Baker always knows the gossip. Nothing gets past him! He’s noticed the way that Apricot and their computer club classmate look at each other. Duncan and Apricot get closer every day. Apricot just doesn’t know if they’re too busy for a relationship.

Baker: “Duncan’s cute! Is he single? I’d love to ask him out if he is!”

Panic rises in Apricot’s chest. Their eyes dart away from their phone to stare in disbelief at their big brother. Baker’s wicked smile shows he’s kidding and was just seeking a reaction from them. Apricot fell for it hook, line and sinker!

Baker: “Hah! I knew it! You do like him! I’m just kidding! I’d never go after my sibling’s crush…”

Apricot: “I don’t…”

Apricot trails off as they know their cheeks redden as they stutter. Baker just grins even wider as he knows he’s broken through his sibling’s nonchalance. Apricot gives up and finally agrees that yes, they do have a crush on Duncan Ota. But Baker needs to keep it quiet!

Baker apologises for pushing. He’s just excited and happy for his sibling. Apricot is always so busy, so it’s nice that a sim has gotten stuck in their mind. The siblings chat in hushed voices as Baker tries to give the slightly awkward Apricot some dating advice.

The next day, Maple streams for her first time as a young adult!

Her cozy community are so excited to see her all aged up! Her chat is filled with compliments. She tries to read every message, smiling brightly at all of the encouragement. She excitedly announces that she’ll be live a lot more now she’s graduated high school. The Maekers (the nickname her community gave themselves) can’t wait to see more of Mae Makes! There will be gaming streams, chatting streams, crafting streams. Maple has so many ideas for her channel!

When she finishes streaming, her mind is buzzing with ideas. She turns when she hears a knock on her bedroom door. She invites the sim in, beaming a smile at her little sister, Tea, as she steps in.

Tea: “That was a great stream, Mae! I was listening whilst doing some yoga in the basement. Super chill vibes!”

Maple knows she should keep the conversation light with her little sister, but she’s needed to catch up with Tea. At prom, her little sister was crowned Prom Jester. The whole school has a grudge against Tea and her girlfriend, Raine. The controversial couple cause a lot of issues at Copperdale High. Many people think that they’re a bad influence on each other.

Tea’s creative and cheerful nature seems dimmed by the cloud of Raine’s angsty attitude. Can Maple talk to Tea about her relationship without her feeling backed into a corner?

Maple starts the conversation gently. She mentions that she hasn’t properly caught up with her sister since prom. Tea’s face clouds over for a moment, like she was expecting this topic to come up. To her credit, she doesn’t let her irritation show. Maple delicately raises her concerns, but tells Tea that no matter what, she loves her and is proud of her.

It’s only when Tea leaves Maple’s room and heads to her own that a door slams loudly. The outlet for Tea’s frustration of everyone doubting her relationship takes the brunt of her emotions.

Maple really hopes that if nothing else, Tea becomes more aware of her behaviour and calls Raine out when she’s acting out.

Crossing over the Miis and Sims has been so much fun! I'm inbetween getting my queue back together and other games, so this save is fun to dip into and update on the progress of my Tomodachi Life save!

(Here’s Maple!

More sure of herself than ever, she’s aged up knowing her sense of style and her likes and dislikes! Her final traits are childish, outgoing and loyal. She’s the best friend a sim could want. Her family are lucky to have her!

Maple’s bohemian sense of style feels more comfortable than ever. Her free natured spirit, inherited from her parent, Sunny, influences her hobbies and career. Maple wants to make more crafts to sell on Plopsy - jewellery, pottery, knitting etc. Her main income will come from her part time job as a Video Game Streamer.

She plans to live at home until she is financially stable enough to move out. She won’t feel rushed, as her parents will happily have her at home as long as they can. She might even start dating. Her schedule as a teenager was too busy to think about relationships. It’ll be fun to explore and get to know new sims!

The future looks bright for Maple!)

Surrounded by their friends and family, Maple and Rhythm step up to their birthday cakes.

As with every family event, there needs to be some degree of chaos. One of the furry friends in attendance, Gingham the cat, helped himself to the honey-drizzled buttercream on Maple’s cake. Luckily, the age up interactions still work, so the cake can still be used. Maple doesn’t mind eating the cat-licked cake slice!

Maple: “You ready, Rhy?”

Rhythm: “More than ready, Mae!”

The cousins reach out and hold hands. They look into each other’s eyes, counting down. Once they hit one, they blow out the candles together. Cheers erupt around them. Party poppers rain confetti on the party goers. Blow horns make ears ring. Love, pride and joy radiates from the friends and family as they watch Rhythm and Maple twirl into young adulthood.

Happy birthday, Maple and Rhythm! 🎂🎈🎁

Mercy definitely cursed the Quick family’s biggest bash!

As the huge crowd of partygoers moves to the opposite end of the beach, a few gasps of shock ripples through them. Some sims laugh. Some sims point. Mercy’s hands fly up to cover her mouth as she sees the sight before her.

Honour: “Plumbobs! Gingham! No! Not the birthday cake!”

Birthday candles should make the cake inedible until they’re blown out, but Honour’s cat ignores them. His head tilts to the side of the cake, lapping at the honey flavoured buttercream. Honour rushes forward and scoops up his cat, who lets out a howl of protest. Honour gets covered in scratches as he wrestles the cat away from the cake!

Mercy and Maple hurry forward to check the cake. Luckily, the age up interactions are still working. Crisis averted!

Maple: “I’ll take the cat licked slice of cake! Rhythm, get to your cake and blow out the candles before something else happens!”

Laughter and cheers erupt as family and friends gather around the birthday sims, ready to watch them age up!

The Quick family spreads out across the beach venue, celebrating every life event and not just the birthdays of Maple and Rhythm!

Growing families share their updates - photos of infants reaching milestones, adoption application updates, excellent school grades. Pet parents shove adorable photos of their furry family under sim’s noses, sharing all their love! Every sim and pet is important. Each sim gets their time to shine in the Quick family’s legacy!

The current legacy heiress, Mercy, reflects on how big the family has become. All types of sims. Lots of relationship dynamics. Many different family groups. Mercy is so proud of each and every family member and their chosen path.

It’s getting late. It’s time for the birthday sims to blow out their candles and age up! Mercy cups her hands around her mouth to amplify the reach of her voice. She draws the attention of everyone to the opposite end of the beach where the birthday cakes await.

Everything is going well, Mercy thinks as she leads the crowd of partygoers. Something in her gut sends a cold spike into her stomach, almost stopping her in her tracks. She didn’t just curse the party with that thought, did she?

After snapping selfies with her cousin, Rhythm - who shares this birthday party with her, Maple goes back to mingling. The whole family turned up to celebrate hers and Rhythm’s birthdays. This could be the last big celebration until mods update and allow the family to invite any guest and up the guest limit.

Maple notices a sim standing quietly to one side, her gaze moving between the sims closest to her. Constance Weaver, Maple’s cousin, is quieter and more shy than her sister, Bailey. Maple’s face falls when she sees how lonely Constance looks. She beelines for her cousin, tapping her gently on the shoulder. She’s pleased that Constance doesn’t jump at the gesture. She must be comfortable at the party, just observing others.

Constance: “Happy Birthday, Mae! I’ve been waiting to give you a present. Rhythm liked his! I hope you’ll love yours too!”

Accepting the small gift box from her cousin, Maple excitedly opens the present. A CD catches the light as she lifts it out of the box. She flips the cd over and reads the handwriting on the back. Constance is a very gifted musician and composed a classical version of Maple’s stream theme song! The thoughtful gift brings joyful tears and a grateful grin to Maple’s face.

Before Constance can mutter her explanation of the homemade gift, Maple pulls her cousin into a huge hug. The time, thought and effort put into this present makes it worth more than anything expensive. Constance likely was going to justify the gift, desperate to know if Maple likes it.

Maple: “You’re so, so talented, Connie! I can’t wait to listen to this! If only we had a CD player here!”

Constance: “I’ve got my free earbuds with me and a copy of the song on my phone if you wanna listen…”

Maple enthusiastically nods, snatching one earbud as Constance pulls them from her inventory. She doesn’t mean to be rude, she’s just extremely excited! She also mentally notes that Constance ignored her compliments and instead kept the conversation on her creation.

The cousins huddle together and listen to the music. Maple showers Constance with compliments. Her musically gifted, kind, patient, observant, creative cousin needs to know how amazing she is! It might be Maple’s birthday, but why can’t every family member be celebrated today?

Duncan: “Hey, Boss! Looking sharp in that suit, but aren’t you hot?”

Apricot feels their cheeks flush as they hear their afterschool club mate, Duncan, teasingly greeting them. The relationship between the computer club members took a turn since Duncan’s failed promposal (due to Apricot’s lack of awareness). The pair are kinda flirty with each other now. Apricot sees Duncan in a different light, making their heart flutter constantly in his presence.

Apricot: “Uh…thank you! It’s uhh…warm. Yeah.”

That was so eloquent. Apricot’s blush deepens as they break eye contact. Duncan just chuckles, the sound warming up Apricot’s heart as it thumps in their chest. There’s no denying it. They have a crush on their club mate!

Apricot: “Isn’t a vest overly warm too?”

Duncan: “I guess! I had to look as smart as you, otherwise I’d feel underdressed.”

Apricot and Duncan’s gaze lingers. They subconsciously take a step closer to each other, wordlessly drawn together like magnets. The pair don’t notice a random classmate of Maple’s invited to the party who interrupts them. The pair jump apart, but the connection still sparks between them.

A sheepish laugh escapes Apricot as they recover quicker than Duncan. They draw their fellow teenager into a casual conversation. Out of the corner of their eye, they see Duncan bristle a little before smoothing out his expression. He clearly wanted to be alone with Apricot, not out of possessiveness but just to enjoy their company privately.

Perhaps, Apricot should take time away from their busy scholarly schedule and consider their growing feelings for Duncan. Their academic achievements, skills and part time job are important, but it’s love and friendship that are what truly fulfils a sim’s heart.
