YES!!! GOOD!!! KawaTen is one of those ships that I wish more people were into, and TenSemi is one of the most entertaining Tendou relationships to think about, haha.Ā
Surprisingly compatible and really mutually beneficial!
Kawanishi struggles a lot with self-confidence and putting himself out there, but Tendou is great about encouraging him in these aspects.
Tendou is aggressively encouraging (almost too aggressive sometimes) on the court and during practice, but in more private moments he offers more serious and calm encouragement when he knows Kawanishi needs something not as loud.
Kawanishi doesnāt often vocalize it, especially openly in public, but he appreciates Tendouās confidence in him and the fact that his senpai really and truly believes in his abilities, not just in volleyball.
Meanwhile, Kawanishi is a wonderful cadidate for Tendou to dote on.Ā
Tendou Loves having the opportunity to gush and fawn over his kouhai, and all of that intensifies once heās in a relationship with Kawanishi.
Thereās a lot of potential angst and feelings when it comes to the topic of Kawanishi being Tendouās replacement on the team as soon as he graduates.Ā
He probably doesnāt entirely believe he can manage it, or that heāll even be half as good for the team as Tendou was, but Tendou is eager to squash those insecurities.Ā
Their relationship stays pretty lowkey and private (for Kawanishiās comfort)Ā but Tendou takes full advantage of the times when theyāre alone and Kawanishi is more open to affection.
Lots of random late-night adventures, spurred on by TendouāsĀ ācāmon, Taichi, itāll be FUN!ā and Kawanishiās inability to argue with his enthusiasm.Ā
Since Kawanishi isnāt that good at expressing his feelings for Tendou in words, he likes to make mixtapes and playlists for him. It allows his music-nerd side to come out plus Tendou always becomes an emotional mess when he receives a new playlist.
After Tendou graduates and leaves, they call each other a lot. Kawanishi isnāt talkative but he actually enjoys listening to Tendou rattle on about his college post-high school adventures. Plus, as heās the new vice captain, having the regular confidence boosting pep talks is really helpful.
They end up dating on a whim, but honestly, they feel like theyāve been dating for a lot longer.
The relationship isĀ āofficiallyā established, according to Tendou, after a silly joke late one night in their dorm room, a fleeting comment about feeling as though theyāre dating.
The next day, Tendou is suddenly telling everyone that theyāre actually dating now, and Semi is just extremely confused, though honestly surprised that he feels super okay with it.
Oddly enough, the entire team doesnāt feel surprised. Most of them had been betting it would happen eventually, anyway.
Since theyāve been best friends for a while and roommates for three years, their relationship stays pretty much the same, just with lots of affection now mixed in.Ā
Nights after practice generally consist of sitting together on one of their beds, āstudyingā - aka complaining about having to study instead of actually doing it - for several minutes before deciding that cuddling is way more important.
Their living space is an absolute disaster, both have a hard time getting rid of anything due to sentimental value, so thereās lots of clutter and random objects that other people would usually throw away or not need.
Having separate closets is honestly pointless, because Tendou somehow ends up with half of Semiās clothing anyway. Somehow he doesnāt find it as ugly if heās the one wearing it. Semi is just confused.
Semi is always confused and trying his best to keep up. Thatās just his constant mood as long as Tendou is being Tendou.
They love to give each other shit constantly, but itās all in good fun.
Both struggle with their own insecurities and their ability to express and talk about them with other people, but both are comfortable with talking to each other, so thereās a lot of nights where both are up extremely late having heartfelt and supportive conversations.
