I want to pack, my universe, in three-and-a-half boxes, of memories, buy a ticket to a place, I have heard or seen, in a long forgotten dream, I once had with you, and leave, just like that.

Madrid, Sol
Standing and waiting for your mom. Facing Sol you hover over the horizon and see bunch and bunch of people going all directions. Different faces, paces and moods. Locals passionately discussing something, tourists trying to navigate through the narrow streets, illegal shoe sellers looking around ready to pack up and run if the cops show up. All kinds of people; mothers with kids, people coming back from work and couples. Oh my gosh these couples. Like the seeds of the pomegranate, they spread the same kind of mood but they are always different. But one thing looks like they have in common is the fact that they look happy, sincerely happy. And why not? These people that met at some point of their lives and may split apart later on but right here and right now, they put smiles on each other's faces. I don't know why it makes me so happy to see so many people in love, but one thing for sure that I wish that this doesn't end for insignificant reasons. Reasons that shouldn't be something to get in the way. I understand, appreciating something in that very moment may be the hardest thing to do for them, but what else can they possible do if not getting the best out of each smile, touch or a kiss. It takes so little to be happy after you've met the right person, just a bit of compassion. In this world that is a huge chaos when looked upon from a bigger scale, we all need to be able to get down on the street level (as urbanists would say) and see those beautiful things hidden in that diversity of people, events and spaces. Every space incapsulates infinite amount of stories, memories and emotions and those windows looking to the street is a small opening through which you can start noticing those if you are observant and imaginative. Strolling through the streets of a megapolis you get a feeling you never get in a small city because nomatter If you are a tourist or local there's always number of little surprises that awaits for you at every corner. Surprises not vast enough to shake your general feeling of the city but something that builds up on it. That's what it means for a city to be alive, to be in a constant change and development without leaving the values it's residents are attached to. Because in the end, those changes shouldn't be made by some people and their random decisions but a natural consequence of the city trying to adapt to people and to be able to meet their expectations a bit better than the day before. Because in the end there is a constant influence between people and the city; we shape the place we live in and then it starts defining who we are. Those little things like; where we usually meet with our buds, how we get there or where we eat dinner together determines our daily routines and eventually becomes part of our life.
