the male wasnât the best when it came to kids . usually he hated the things , their sticky hands and loud voices , but since dating nathan and getting close to annie he was beginning to grow a soft spot .. today wasnât the case , though , and as the girl thumped into his legs he growled in frustration and waited for the other man to catch up . there was no way that woody was going to touch the child and help her stand , knowing that with his luck heâd be called out for being a creep and thrown in a jail cell before lunchtime . â if your kid has a tendency to run into people maybe you should put âem on a leash or something so she doesnât catapult into people like me . careful , she mightâa caught rabies from me . i ainât the cleanest of the bunch . hasnât anyone told you to avoid the andersons ?? âÂ
There was something weird about this guy that made Vin feel a little weird, unsure what to say about the rabies comment or the fact he said he wasnât clean. Vin frowned.Â
âAs a police officer, I find itâs my job to be around the people others tend to avoid,â he said calmly, keeping his daughter close to him. âSheâs eight, she doesnât need to be on a leash. She was just excited. Iâm sorry, sir, are you okay? Do you need anything?â
Rory Reilly was going to have a good night. That was a promise made to herself as soon as she saw the text inviting her over from Vinny. She was going to have a good night, because she was young, and hot, and most importantly, cool. And even though she was heartbroken over Isaac, her godforsaken production assistant ex-boyfriend, she would forget about him for one single night, because she deserved that, damnit.Â
Vinny was hot. He was older, and he was a cop, and he was hot. And he was a father, which⊠that could be cool. He had alcohol and records, but most importantly, at least for now, he was hot. Rory could work with this.
She slipped on her combat boots, brushed her teeth, dabbed a touch of perfume on her neck, wrists and collarbone, and applied one layer of clear lipgloss. She slipped on her oversized leather trench, and she was out the door.Â
When You Get Old by Future Wife was her song of course, and she sang along to it, as she walked to the address listed. Soon enough she had arrived, and she knocked on his door, with a smirk. âHey stranger.â
@justvinnyâ
Vin had a night off from everything, and instead of his usual going out and drinking he'd invited Rory round. The evening was going to be good; he'd bought snacks and set up his record player.
Dressed in a blue button down and a pair of dark grey jeans, Vin waited with a bottle of beer for the door.
And when there was a knock, he stood, opening it with a smile.
'Hey.' He grinned. 'Come in.' Vin's cat had been shut away in Sarah's bedroom for now just in case Rory was allergic or didn't like them. Nothing to ruin the mood.
'Drink?'

âI think a lot of people try to call you daddy and think you arenât anything else because youâre a little older. You like having your ass fucked and being called pretty.â Since Jack was used to getting stared at, he wouldnât give a fuck if people started looking at him funny.
He leaned back in his chair and took another sip of his drink before smirking over the rim. Right about now, heâd love to know what was going on in Vinceâs head, though he wasnât about to ask. âEnh, Iâm sure we all have regrets. We all have things we would go back and change, but itâs how we learn from it that matters.â
Vin hated that the comment made him flush because it seemed that Jack had hit the nail on the head. Whilst he enjoyed the dominant role, sometimes it was nice to be the submissive one. All he could do was drink. He wasnât sure what else to say apart from--
âYeah. I guess youâre right.âÂ
We all did have regrets, yes. But Vin wasnât about to let this night become one of them. He didnât want to be too forward, but after Jackâs comment he figured that there werenât many boundaries now. âSo, you gonna keep calling me pretty to get me into bed or was that just an observation?â

Why did Vinnieâs lips feel so good against his own? He could feel his body melt into his friends for a second, before their shared kiss came to an end once more. âFriends with benefits? In my twenty seven years on this earth, Iâve never had a friend who I casually fool around with.â The nurse admitted as he proceeded to follow Vincent back over towards the couch, sitting himself down. Ezra quite liked the idea of this, even if his stomach was riddled with nerves. âIâm working this weekend, man. Who knowâs whats going to walk through the emergencies doors.. This world is rife right now.â
âMazel tov, you do now.â Vin smiled, watching as Ezra came to sit next to him. He spoke about the issues that were going on around them, and he nodded. Yeah... heâd been watching a lot of news recently.
âAmber got Rosie?â He asked. âIâm with Sarah. Imogen is taking the weekend off to recuperate. Sheâs been going through a lot recently... like... more than I ever imagined. I mean, she was bad when we were together, with her mental health, but this is just...â He let out a breath. âSomething else.â
thatbraxtondudeâ:
âActually, I said you looked like a daddy. Which could very well have been an insult,â he pointed out, a brow rising to mock the otherâs expression.  âAnd the fact that you didnât take it as such tells me a lot about who you are and what youâre about. Donât worry, though, Iâm into it,â Braxton finished with a smirk, bringing his drink to his lips and downing it in one more go.
âWhat can I say? The guys my age donât know what they want. Iâm not into the wishy-washy,â the explanation made him smile again, and he placed his empty glass on the bar behind him.  âAnything thatâs not gin, thanks.â
âI donât insult easily.â Vin replied with a smile. Anything thatâs not gin. Well that just made Vin want to order gin, but instead he chose two whisky and cokes, something stronger for him to get him buzzed quicker.Â
âSo what do you say, we gonna drink this and get outta here? Iâm not getting any younger.â He said as he paid for their drinks. âMy place or yours? You still live with your folks?â

As his message sent, she felt the vibration in the pocket of her jeans. First step completed, contact was made. She itched for a cigarette, but calmed her nerves. Not in front of the children. Rory was 27, but more and more recently, especially after her big breakup, she felt more childish than anything else. But being a responsible adult was probably a thing to be, at least in this moment, anyways.
âWell, Iâm a cashier. Which isnât much, but it pays the bills. I spin records there, sometimes, just to entertain myself, but I used to have a bit of a DJ career. The possibilities are endless, in the music world. But records are my favorites of all.â She paused, thinking. âVery stoked for the new 1975 record. Itâll be lining the shop. And Haimâs gonna drop something soon, too. The new Tame Impala album was tight.â
âRecords are the best. Sometimes itâs good to have old instead of new.â Vin hoped she would understand the double entendre. âWe should get a drink and listen to some records sometime.â
He looked over his shoulder at Sarah who was now waving for her dad to come over. Dad duty called; he could flirt with Rory later.Â
âIâll call you, yeah?â
roryreillyrecordsâ:
She loved listening to people say her name. It made her feel important, somehow. The effect was not lost when he repeated it. She liked the feeling of her name from someone elseâs lips. âVinny⊠I like it.â She smirked right back, already feeling out the dynamic of this conversation. Rory was naturally a flirt, and this was like a game to her. A game she very much enjoyed winning.
âBass? Ah.â She nodded, handing back his phone, a new look of appreciation crossing her features. âIâm a bass player. Iâve played in a few bands, over the years. But I work at Resident Records. You wanna talk music, you come to me, okay? I can tell you anything there is to know.â
He sent Rory a quick message so she had his number too before putting the phone back into his pocket. He glanced quickly over at the park and saw that Sarah was fine, playing with some other kids. Vin knew that she could stand up for herself if she needed to (even if she did get bullied at school), and if she had a problem she would come to her parents.Â
âOh, no way? Thatâs awesome. What do you do there? Any good music coming out soon?â

Ezra figured Vinnie would be understanding, although he couldnât help but to feel bad for the guy, he knew exactly how blue balls felt. He glanced into his friends eyes as his face was held within Vinnieâs hands, and smiled. âI donât think sex is a good idea, man.â Ezra informed through an exhale. âBut I do feel bad for.. turning you on.. Iâm just.. nervous. I feel like my eighteen year old self again.â His first time would always be memorable, just like this instance. âBut I.. never noticed how cute you l-look.. close up.â
Above all else, Ezraâs friendship was the most important to him. There were other ways to get off, and heâd enjoyed sucking Ezraâs dick. There were worse things to do in an afternoon.Â
Vin pressed his lips to Ezraâs gently. âIf you ever need to get off, give me a call and Iâll be happy to help. Call it a friends with benefits situation without the sex and we can... foreplay, as you put it.â
He grinned, walking back over to the couch. âAny plans for the weekend?â
roryreillyrecordsâ:
It was in that moment that Rory realized the kid was his, and therefore maybe flirting with him wasnât the best idea. Maybe a mom was in the picture, and then this all would seem like some bad dream, making her bad day⊠well, worse.
But then he answered that fear on his own, with a wink of course, asking for her number. This was more of Roryâs speed. âThat sounds like the best thing Iâve heard all day. Iâm Rory, by the way. Rory Reilly. You like music, mystery man?â
âRory.â Vin replied with a smile, writing her name in his phone and then handing it over to her to put her number in. âIâm Vincent. You can call me Vin, Vince, Vinny... officer... some other things once we get more acquainted and I know what kind of things youâre interested in.â He flirted with a smirk.
âMusic? Sure, I played bass back in the day but I canât say Iâm that great.â
wxhwtneâ:
Weston flicked a paper clip at him. âCome on man. You canât for once think you were in the right. Youâre better than that, Vin. You fucked up, and you know you did. I dunno about you, but thatâs all they preached to us. I had one instructor that told us over and over, it doesnât matter if Karen from the bank down the road gets drunk in her driveway and screams into the void at 3am before puking, but if I do it, itâs frowned upon.âÂ
He signed into his desk computer, lulling his head over to look at Vin once again. âWeâre still trying to figure out how to get in and talk to this guy to get him. He keeps everything lowkey and away so it doesnât get back to him, and if it does, he canât be tied to it.â
Vin rolled his eyes again and gave Weston the finger. âYeah, I know but Rusty is a grade A asshole,â he replied picking up the paper clip Weston had flicked, fiddling with it. âand so was that douchebag, fucking Edward Benson. Iâd beat the shit out of him again if I could.â
Edward Benson was the former paramedic who had been arrested for possession of category A images of children, along with videos and had also been charged with acts himself. It had made Vin sick when he was interviewing him; the man had no remorse. And heâd flipped, beating him up and taking three officers to pull Vin off the man. Who could blame him?
âNeed someone to go under cover? I could do it.â
itsezrabestâ:
While Ezra checked on his daughter, it gave him time to compose his thoughts and nerves as Vinnie spoke of more. Should he wait until he finds someone he truly loves before delving into the world of gay sex? But then he remembered just how turned on his friend also felt, and how unfair it would be to suddenly leave. Ruffling his hair with his right hand, Ezra returned and forced a smile, before nodding his head towards Vinnie. âYeah man, sheâs still sparko.â He informed while nibbling his lower lip in an anxious manor. âTo which Iâm surprised.. Yâknow.â The nurse giggled, his cheeks flushed with the embarrassment. âLook um, I donât know if I should wait to meet someone before I experience the intercourse side? Iâm sure I could.. uhh.. we could..foreplay?â Ezra suggested through a mumble, fuck, his heart was beating fast.
Vin could tell from the look on Ezraâs face that he was a little uncomfortable, and the last thing he wanted to do was make his friend feel weird. He walked over to Ezra and placed his hands on his shoulders before moving them up, resting either side of his face.
âIf you want to wait, you wait,â Vin said softly. âI donât want to make you do something you donât want to do. I can get laid... with other people.â He smiled. âGo at your own pace, yeah?â
justvinnyâ:
âI wouldâve had to arrest my own daughter.â Vin commented as Sarah rushed off to the park without saying a word. He shook his head. They would be having a conversation about manners later on for sure. For now, heâd apologise on his daughterâs behalf.Â
âYou wonât find any nepotism with me.â He looked over his shoulder to see Sarah playing with some kids and he knew that she would be okay. She was a smart kid.Â
âLet me get you a new sandwich, yeah?â Vin offered. âConsidering yours is getting eaten by the ground now.â
She almost started laughing. But she kept it in, for fear that her peals of hilarity would come out as manic, and quite frankly, concerning. The whole situation was absurd, however. Her whole day, running itself into the ground. Maybe there would be something left to turn it all aroundâŠ
âAhhh, youâre a cop then, huh?â She paused, looking him over. âThatâs kind of hot. You gotta pair of cuffs on ya?â She couldnât hold her laughter in any longer, and shook her head. âSorry, sorry. Long day. Iâd say I wasnât always this forward.. but thatâs probably not true.â
âWell, Iâd say no, considering it was a poorly made pb&j at best, but hey! Why not? Thanks, handsome stranger.â
Vin laughed too and nodded. 'Yeah I'm a cop.' He didnt expect her to say it was hot, though. He wondered if she would say the same thing if she found out he wasn't out on the streets these days.
He still had his cuffs, though.
'Not on me as it's my day off, but I've got some at home.' He winked and laughed. 'I'm pretty forward as well, and seeing as we both are, how about I get your phone number and we can acquaint ourselves when my kid is with her mom and not with me.'
âVin.â He smiled, holding his hand out for her to shake. He wasnât sure why heâd decided to go for a handshake but heâd drank a bit and now he felt like being formal. âNice to meet ya Alesandra.â
Vin nodded. âYeah, one of those nights. You want a drink?â He gestured towards the bar and his emptying bottle of beer. âTime to refill.â
Alessandra shook his hand slowly with a smile. âYou too Vinâ she winked. Looking down at her glass she nodded, âSure. Iâd love a drinkâ she said scooting her vodka glass closer to the other side, âSo why are you here tonight?â she asked.
Vin pulled his wallet out and paid for their drinks when they arrived, turning his attention back to Alessandra.
'Seeing where the night takes me,' he replied. Vin didn't want to turn around say that he was here to get laid. He could be forward but that far forward might put Alessandra off. 'What about you?'
