fckathenas:
The smile was still on Athena’s face, and since she had been with Jaxon it seemed to have been suck there not wanting to move an inch. Her heart hadn’t beat the quickly in a very long time, and the boy made her heart feel like it was pounding out of her chest. She couldn’t tell if it was his crooked smile, chocolate hues, or his goofy personality but the girl wanted the moment to last forever. It had been a long time since she felt….nervous around a boy? The whole hookup situation had never made her feel this way, she knew she was pretty and boys would be coming out of the woodworks in bars but Jaxon…..Jaxon made her feel like she was fifteen all over again, falling for a boy for the first time. Athena’s eyes shot open when Jaxon spoke, his words giving the girl the chills; she tried her hardest to stay calm around him, to keep him from knowing the effect he had on her. All he had to was say the word babe, low enough for her ears only, and the girl was melting in his arms. Athena felt like putty, but she had to keep her posture straight so she could keep dancing with Jaxon, keep her body so close to his. “Oh I think that this whole ball scene is more my scene and less yours.” She laughed lightly. “Drinking champagne with my pinky up is practically second nature at this point. “ Athena hung onto Jaxon a bit more tightly, not wanting to let the brunette escape her grasp. “Oh come on, you look incredible in a suit.” The blonde girl smiled at the boy. “Honestly….you look great, so it was worth it getting all dressed up for the free booze.” Athena let out a nervous laugh, hoping that the boy would react favorably to her compliment; there was no reason for him not to but she had this seed of doubt in her stomach when it came to Jaxon. She took a few deep breaths in further attempt to calm the nerves that were currently out of control. Athena looked up to make eye contact with Jaxon as they twirled around once more and she couldn’t help but smirk when he spoke, feeling satisfied he was here, she was hoping, for her. He had his alcohol at the bar, but here they were dancing the rest of the night away while his time to get drunk for free slowly dwindled. “You are?” she questioned, her eyebrows raising. She needed the reassurance, she wanted to know that he was here for her as much as she was for him. Her original plan was to sneak out when Savannah wasn’t paying attention. She had been to more of these events that she could count on two hands and she was getting more and more sick of them as she got older, but she couldn’t deny that getting dressed up was the only good part; a good part that had apparently paid off because the boy in front of her hadn’t taken his eyes away from her the whole night. She went to speak again, but Jaxon’s hand moved (or maybe slipped?) and his hand went lower than it had on her back, grazing over her butt. The smirk went back to Athena’s face, tugging at her lips. “Jaxon….” she trailed off tilting her head to the side. “Did you really….did you really just try to cop a feel?” The smirk turned into a full smile, showing off her perfect teeth. “You know,” she lowered her voice, “If you wanted to touch, all you had to do was ask.”
The whole point of this masquerade themed dance was to keep your identity anonymous and while Jaxon had gone out of his way to wear a mask, it was that article in itself that most likely gave him away to everyone and anyone who laid eyes on the familiar colours of Deadpool. So taking it off earlier was really no big deal to him, despite the fact that all other ball attendees had at least half of their faces hidden. The only thing he deemed important enough to be concerned about was the girl he had in his arms, everything else buzzing around them merely background noise, and so the brunet was completely entranced with Athena; she basically had him wrapped around her little finger and he doubted that she even realized that kind of hold she had on him. “Y’know, I think you got me there. This whole fancy ballroom getup seems more your style. A lot more.” A chuckle vibrated against the back of his throat to go along with her laughter, his head tilting a little out of curiosity. “Second nature, huh? Damn, alright, so... I take it you go to a lot of these things then, yeah?” One of his eyebrows cocked up a bit, unable to fight the crooked grin that swept across his features at the compliment that followed. “I look pretty great out of a suit too, just sayin’, but... Thanks. Maybe I’ll rent this sucker more often and pull it on when you’d least expect it.” When you think of a masquerade ball, you think of an expensive ballroom, tasteful attendees, and an extremely elegant atmosphere, all of which was the complete opposite of everything Jaxon lived for. The fact that he had even shown up was appalling, really, but he was never one to pass up a party, especially when free alcohol was provided, no matter the time limitation. However, the night had definitely taken a surprising turn and there was no denying that he was no longer staying for the free alcohol. Instead, his time spent with the blonde who basically made him weak in the knees every time her gaze locked with his own was worth losing out on getting completely and utterly shitfaced for free. She made him feel something he hadn’t felt in a long time, and he was going to grasp onto that for as long as he could; for as long as she’d allow him. “Absolutely,” he gave a few small nods of his head to follow up his response to her question, raising dark eyebrows a bit to mimic her own, though his lips curved to form a small smirk as well. When his name left her lips, Jaxon bit his bottom lip a bit harder in an attempt to discourage the grin that was threatening to make an appearance, brown irises first dropping from her gaze before lifting to take in their surroundings, though he honestly didn’t give a shit about anything but her at that point. “What? No. .... Maybe,” he murmured the last part, that boyish charm seeping into his composure as his gaze slowly returned to lock with her own once again. “I mean, my hand slipped a little and it was... there, so...” Another drop of his gaze as his tongue rolled along the inside of his cheek, and Jaxon could hardly even try to conceal the mischievous smirk that tugged at the corners of his mouth. “Hold up—All I had to do was ask?” After repeating her words, his voice lowered then, meant for her ears only, the smirk still very much intact across his features. “So... whenever the uncontrollable urge to touch your butt strikes, I just gotta’ be like ‘hey, girl, can I grab a handful of ‘dat booty’ and then you’ll let me?”
“what has two thumbs and went to the grocery store specifically for a dozen eggs, only to end up leaving with milk, bread, cheese, and no eggs?? — that’s right, this girl.” she’s still clutching her grocery bags with her head thrown back in frustration. “i act more and more like my bestemor each day.”
“Listen, alright— wait, what?” With a short riddle in play, he’d been about to go off on one of his infamous tangents but was completely thrown off by a word that had never met his ears before, which unbeknownst to him, actually belonged to a separate language entirely. “I dunno what the fuck a bestie-more is. Is that like a best friend ... but more?” Jaxon was basically humouring himself at this point, speaking whatever crossed his mind without worry, before he pulled a hand from his pocket to gesture at the bags as he took a couple steps closer. “Anyway, d'ya want some help with that? Lucky you don’t have eggs ‘cause it looks like you’re ‘bout to lose your goodies.”
Sometimes River would play at certain bars, mostly during slow nights since he was new to it all. This being one of those nights. After doing so he thanked everyone who was there, which were maybe twenty people, and made his way outside. Although he was generally confident, singing in front of people made him feel vulnerable and maybe even nervous. So he needed to calm down and found himself with his guitar on his back and a cigarette between his lips. Noticing he didn’t have his lighter with him he tapped on the shoulder of the person closest to him, “Hey, do you have a lighter you could borrow me?“
Peering up from the stoop he’d gotten comfortable enough to enjoy a few spare moments alone in peace, the brunet tilted his head up a bit once he felt a tap to his shoulder and then proceeded to give a few small nods along with his reply. “Yeah, man, for sure.” Reaching into his coat pocket, Jaxon fished out the cheap lighter he always left in that particular jacket, in case he ever forgot to snatch one up before leaving his apartment, and held it up for the other to take. “Hey...,” brown hues squinted the slightest bit once catching sight of River’s face, taking a drag from his own cigarette before he continued on, “you’re the music fella’, the one with the—” cutting himself off once he spotted the guitar over River’s shoulder, his lips tugged up at the corners to form a small smile, “—yeah, the guitar. Good show, bud. Don’t think I’d ever be able to belt out a tune like that. Not seriously, anyway.”

Basil: the restaurant fucked up my delivery order and now I have enough Chinese to feed a family off four
Basil: want some Chinese?
Jaxon: wtf my dude.... u could save that shit for leftovers or a rainy day or however long it would keep in ur fridge cos that's what I'd do 🤙🏻
Jaxon: but hey if ur offering then who am I to say no to some good Chinese grub
“can you stop fuckin’ breathing down my god damn neck?” wilson asked as he stood in line at the grocery store, ready to pay for the food he had gathered in his basket as he glared at the individual behind him. “jesus fuckin’ christ, dude. and you’ve got coffee breath.”
“I don’t care if your hooker— not-hooker stole your wallet and your legendary whatever card while your dumb ass slept. That’s not my problem. My problem,” he paused to pick up an apple from a stand, lifting it to his mouth to take a bite without the slightest bit of hesitation, “is that I’ve been waiting for you to meet up with me for the last... almost a week, amigo, with no progress! If you don’t hook me up tonight, I’m takin’ my business elsewhere.” With that said, Jaxon ended the call and returned to Wilson’s side in line, brushing passed a few people behind him. “Alright, so Ronnie’s being a dumb sack of shit lately. Might have to make some new connections ... Fuck, I hate that.” It was only then that he noticed there was a bit of tension in the air between Wilson and the person in line behind them, a single brow cocking up but a smirk played along his lips as he turned to face the other. “Drug dealers, am I right? Can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em.”
julianneok:
for some reason, without even needing to look at him, julianne knew he was crying. maybe it was because they had memorized each other’s habits and movements so much during the time they were together. she remembered rainy, winter days where they’d go over to his house and cuddle in bed, with the lights off. they’d laugh and talk and make out until one or both of them fell asleep. they couldn’t afford to go on lavish dates like most others in their school could. but for some reason, those afternoons were the ones that remained most prominently in her head. they reminded her of the best times. even now, whenever it rained ( which happened almost daily in seattle at this time of year ), all she could think of was him. maybe it was only appropriate that it was raining again for this interaction.
she didn’t know what reaction she was expecting when she brought up the past yet again. for some reason she expected him to pull away or even leave then and there. she could feel his heart pounding against her own chest, and she only held onto him tighter because of it. she could swear that even through the pouring rain, she could feel his tears drip from his eyes and down to fall on her neck. it only made her feel more guilty. obviously she couldn’t take back the past. she couldn’t go back four years and fix the mistakes she’d made. she wished she could, but she couldn’t. this was what they had left to deal with now. at his deep exhale, her body stiffened slightly. this was it; the moment of truth. she knew now he’d express his true thoughts about it all, rather than just push her away again. if he did that… that would be it for her when it came to trying to convince him to forgive her for her actions, for her mistakes. it would be obvious that nothing would get past his hard exterior.
but then he was speaking fast, all too fast, and she closed her eyes tightly as all his words sunk in. it was a lot to take in. not one word he was uttering made her feel any better about it all. in fact, she only felt worse. then he mentioned her dad, and she thought her legs would give out beneath her then and there. she had no idea he’d thought that horribly against her father. that he would’ve hunted him down and gave him what he deserved. he would do that, he would risk his own safety for her and grace. “j-jaxon…” she sobbed softly when he said he’d asked his mom if she and grace could move in. now she felt selfish. taking his money, sobbing in his arms. the more she thought about his kindness, his selflessness, the more tears escaped her eyes. “i-i’m s-so sorry, i had no idea… i… i just p-panicked, i-i thought i was doing what was right b-because i wasn’t in my right mind at all… i-i know that now… and-and i can’t tell you how horribly i feel because of it…” she could practically feel the cash he’d gifted her burn a hole through her bag and against her thigh, but she knew trying to give it back wouldn’t amount to anything. he’d just reject it and tell her to keep it. that was definitely something he would do. pour his heart out to her and tell her how she completely shattered it then give her hundreds of dollars to support her sister. why she expected anything less from him, she didn’t know.
though it absolutely broke her heart to do, julianne paused then slowly stepped away from him, moving her arms to wrap around herself now, though the comfort wasn’t nearly there. not like it was with jaxon. but she didn’t deserve his embrace. his pity. any of it. “please, d-don’t… don’t come up to me after shows anymore… don’t try to give me more money…” she murmured, sniffing and wiping her eyes before stepping back again. “jax… i don’t deserve you… i don’t deserve this… i did the shittiest thing i could possibly do to you a-and you’re still here, wanting to help.” she pushed her wet hair back and away from her eyes as she let out another sob, tilting her head down. she may pay the dear price of a cold later, but this conversation needed to be had. she needed to put both of them on the path to closure. “i-i still hold you close to my heart, jax, but please cut me out of yours…” with that, she shook her head and began walking swiftly down the sidewalk on her own, which was no easy feat with six-inch heels on the soaking wet concrete. but she needed the escape, to be away from him as soon as possible. otherwise they’d both only face more heartbreak.
Although he’d trailed off, unable to allow his true underlying feelings to continue to be made known in a spew of word vomit, it was as if on cue that Julianne seemed to pick up from where he left off, which gave him a slim chance to compose himself and recollect his thoughts. An arm lifted again from the brunette so Jaxon could hurriedly rub a hand over his face to discard of any stray tears, as if this would completely wipe the emotion from his features, but the reassurance of her feeling absolutely guilt-ridden and obviously quite torn up still over the how they’d parted ways only left him feeling more mixed up and confused than ever. In fact, he hardly had time to really, thoroughly process this information before he felt her pull away from his hold, leaving him with a hollowed sadness he hadn’t had displeasure of harbouring for quiet some time. There was honestly nothing he could do about it though, so that passionate grip that had locked her against his chest magically dispersed, gangly arms falling limp to his sides as he slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans. Not only was it a clear sign of defeat, his stubborn efforts still unable to adequately squeeze his former lover back into some part of the life he was now leading, but it was also, in one way or another, a baby step forward in letting her go, which was absolutely absurd considering that was the last thing he ever wanted to do with Julianne.
The flow of her next chosen words caused brown irises to leave the brunette altogether, gaze cast down to his feet and the sidewalk, tracing out every crevice in the pavement rather than choosing to look at any part of her. The first spent apart had been agonizing; a dastardly pain he’d never felt so intensely before, and his mind hardly ever spared him a moments peace without any little thing reminding him of Julianne. As the next few years dragged on, it got a little easier with the distraction of narcotics and new found friends who shared his toxic interests, but every now and then, the brunette had still managed to cross his mind. Now, with this undergoing plaintive reunion, it was as if Jaxon was being forced to start all the way back at the first year again. And he didn’t want that. He didn’t want to have to live without her for a second time, even if it meant intolerable suffering on his part. She was the last good thing he’d cherished in life, the last time he could remember being sincerely, utterly happy, and he was desperately trying to grasp at any loose thread he could hold on to from that part of his life. But she was backing away, detaching herself from him not only physically now, and with it, she was tugging that thread right out through his fingers. Every last word that she spoke before turning away him, mercilessly hit against his heart like sledgehammer, leaving him unable to even utter a single word in protest to her departure as a result.
“I can’t,” he finally croaked out through the lump in his throat, still watching Julianne walk away as quickly as he could imagine she was able to do in those heels. “I can’t just cut you out. Like, my fuckin’ God— what does that even mean?” It was then that his feet slowly started to move again, carrying him toward her without really acknowledging the fact, much too wrapped up in her trying to just end all means of communication between them. Again. “Explain to me what the means, explain to me how you just— expect me to be able to wipe you completely out of my life. My memories, my thoughts, my fuckin’ feelings?” It didn’t take long for him to catch up to her, the difference in footwear probably being a major factor along with his determined strides, and soon he was stepping out in front of the brunette, forcing her to at least falter her movements if not stop altogether. “You just made me spill my guts out to you, and you’re gonna walk away?!” If the hurt anger hadn’t been evident to her in his tone of voice before, it surely had to have been displayed in the twisted expression capturing his features. However, just as quickly as it built up and erupted through the otherwise quiet night, it seemed to sizzle out just as fast into a cold, sardonic cloud of smoke, the hint of a sneer causing the corners of his mouth to quiver slightly. “But whatever. Right? Whatthefuckever. You’ve done it before, must be easy now; a fuckin’ cakewalk.” With that practically spat out at her feet, Jaxon swerved around Julianne, brisk walking eventually turning into a light jog in the opposite direction to put as much distance between them as humanly possible. If this was meant to be closure, then so be it. He would close every door, every window, and board them all shut as if hoarding himself away from the apocalypse (which he was convinced would strike any time soon with the bad luck everything seemed to be suffering through as of late). Hurting him once, shame on her, but digging the knife in a little deeper the second time? Shame on him for being the idiot who pretended not to care, only to end up secretly caring a little too much.
fckathenas:
“Okay very good to know because now who knows when I could just show up.” she laughed, shaking her head at the boys response. It was a common theme when she saw Jax, she couldn’t help but laugh. Athena didn’t come here to get dressed up and dance, she came to show face, say hi to a few people and make her way out; plus Savannah wouldn’t let her stay home. Once she was on the dance floor and Jaxon squeezed her hand butterflies erupted in her stomach and her breath hitched in her throat when he pulled her close to him and his hand rested on the small of her back. The girl never imagined her night ending with her being so close to Jaxon. She giggled and shook her head as she rested her hands on the boys shoulders. “Don’t worry, we can pretend like you’re leading and not me.” The blonde moved around in small circles hoping it would look close enough to dancing. Athena had been to tons of events like this when she lived at home with her parents and she learned to pretend to look like she was a professional on the dance floor. She used to be miserable at these, but there was something about being with the brunette boy that made it enjoyable, that made her want to be here and not just for the free booze. “I can’t believe you’re here by the way….this doesn’t really seem like your scene.” She smiled at the boy, looking up into his warm brown eyes. “Not that i’m not happy to see you.” she added quickly. The blonde continued her pace to the beat of the song, shifting her body closer to Jaxon to close the gap between them. She couldn’t help but be a little nervous, and she knew that the boy was too considering the boys hands were slightly clammy when they first moved into the dance floor. She felt better knowing that because on the inside she didn’t know what to do with herself. Yeah there were hookups and one night stands, but she felt a bit differently towards the awkward brunette holding her, she wanted to know every single thing about him and what went on in that head of his, she wanted to stay this close to him for the rest of the night. Looking up at him was painful, her chest was tight and she wanted to lean up and kiss him but she fought the urge, letting out a breath instead. “Just so you know…..this night hasn’t turned out half as bad as I thought it was going to.”
The implication that she could just show up to his apartment at any given time sent an exhilarating chill to course through his spine, though he concealed it to the best of his ability. Although he would love nothing more than to have her over in his own little cave of sin, Jaxon would need to spruce the place up in order to prevent Athena from turning on her heel and making a mad dash for the exit. The desire to impress a girl hadn’t really been sparked within him for quite some time, maybe a decade or so, but with her, the feeling seemed to be completely inevitable. So as soon as the giggle bubbled up from the blonde at his confession to a lack of dance knowledge, he was relieved to find that she didn’t seem to care and in fact, was actually in favour of not just leading him through it but also making it look as if he actually knew what the fuck he was doing out there with this absolutely stunning girl in his arms. “Thanks, babe. You’re an absolute angel,” he murmured in response for her ears only, adding in a quick wink of his eye. There was no doubt that he wasn’t one to take dancing seriously, busting out the wildest moves he could think of whenever he had the floor to himself, but Athena’s movements were easy enough to follow along with and soon, Jaxon found himself actually easing into the situation a lot more comfortably than he probably would have otherwise with anyone else. It also helped that she kept the conversation going, which he was quite obviously appreciative of as a lopsided smile tugged up the corners of his mouth. “No? You don’t think I like to play dress up, and stick my pinky finger in the air while sipping a glass of champagne?” It was obvious the brunet was teasing her as the smile never really left his face, just developed into a smirk, before he was giving a small shrug of his shoulders in an attempt not to disturb her hands resting there. “Honestly? I came for the free booze. As a big of a pain in the ass as it was getting this dumb suit sorted out, anything’s worth an unlimited stock of alcohol, even if the cut off time’s midnight. But y’know ... something else might be keeping me here.” His smile softened then, brown irises examining the design of her mask before locking with her bright blues. It was then that he felt the blonde enclosing the already small amount of space between them, her body pressing up against his own, which caused his heart to flutter, skipping a beat at the close contact. “Well, I’m definitely relieved to hear that ‘cause, I dunno ... I’m starting to think I’m feelin’ the same way.” All while trying to keep his cool, Jaxon swallowed thickly and readjusted his hands to the closer position as a means to keep her right there, but with the slight roaming of his palms over the slippery material of her dress, he accidentally (maybe not so innocently) copped a feel over her butt. Taking in a quiet, sharp breath, he tried to play that off as well, pretending as though nothing happened all while gently sucking his bottom lip in to rest between his teeth, nibbling at the flesh.
Athena couldn’t help but laugh at Jaxon’s response to her and she hopped on the counter and sat back so she was a bit more eye level with the boy. “The only time pizza will ever come between us is if you eat the last slice without asking me first.” she laughed lightly, nudging the boy lightly. Athena was surprised at the level of comfort she felt with the boy, well besides her stomach being in knots. The closer she got to him the more her chest tightened, she more her hands shook with anticipation. “You wanted to see my too?” she added, actually surprised. It seemed like Jaxon was always around a ton of people, always occupied with someone or something so the words shocked her. A smile spread on her face, and a laugh escaped her lips. “I’m just surprised you always seem to….occupied? You have a job and friends so I’m just happy you found the time for me.” She looked to the floor, not wanting to make eye contact with him after her admission.
Athena was pleasantly surprised at how well everything was working out for her and the boy. She expected tons of awkward conversation and uncomfortable silence but here they were actually hanging out successfully. She was concerned when Jaxon’s eyes shot up from the menu she handed to him and her eyes grew wide, before she relaxed and a smirk played its way onto her lips. “Oh, I know that I could take you down.” she hopped off the counter and crossed her arms over her chest as she moved a bit closer to Jaxon. “Now, no cheating, and no letting me win either, okay?” she laughed lightly, the smile staying on her lips. “I can’t wait until you have to tell everyone you got your ass kicked by a girl.” she giggled, nudging the boy gently, hoping he would fall back against the counter again. Her heart was beating so quickly and so hard she thought that Jaxon might be able to hear it. Athena didn’t know what she was doing but she knew that she wanted him to play along, her blue hues looking up to read his facial expression, waiting for him to react before moving any further.
“Duly noted. Never sneak the last piece, unless I want you to fight me.” The nudge to his arm caused a low chuckle to erupt from the brunet, gaze casting down at the menu in hand for a finale time before lifting to settle on Athena once again, setting the sheet down onto the counter. Crossing his arms over his chest, Jaxon used an elbow to lightly nudge her in return, one of his eyebrows cocking up at her evident surprise about him wanting to see her as well. Maybe, just maybe, he had escaped crossing the ‘too obvious’ line with an inch of his life, regarding the tooth-achingly infatuation he held for Athena because surely that was all it was, right? Then she went on to add that he simply just seemed to be occupied at all times, and that was when a more prominent laugh rumbled up from the pit of his stomach. “Me? Too busy for you? Not a chance.” The words were spoken prematurely, not really giving a second thought to the meaning until it was too late, and brown hues lowered to his feet for brief moment as a hand lifted to rub over the back of his neck. “I mean, y’know ... I like to keep myself busy and stuff, but that doesn’t mean I got somethin’ on the go all the time. Guess I just kinda’.... put myself into situations and force people to talk to me ‘cause I talk so much and they basically only have two choices then: add in their two cents or walk away.” Giving a weak shrug of his shoulders, rows of pearly whites were revealed in a slanted grin with an attempt at diverting the attention away from his slip up.
The playful banter being tossed back and forth between the two was almost comparable to some form of an anti-drug for Jaxon, unable to shake the electric feeling coursing through his nervous system as Athena hopped down off the counter and moved in a bit closer to him. The tip of his tongue slipped out then to quickly smooth over his lips before disappearing once again, a failed attempt at trying to mentally convince himself that he was completely prepared for whatever was about to go down, but prepared or not, he was certainly intrigued. “Awh, c’mon, breaking the rules is the fun part,” he teased her as the smirk lightly tugging at his lips grew a little deeper, brown hues eyeing the blonde before a thunderous laugh lit up his features at her next comment, before adding in his own. “Well, hey, I can’t wait to tell everyone a hot girl touched my butt.” Although he hadn’t been expecting the nudge, it had only been enough just to budge him a bit, but of course, he had to make it somewhat dramatic for a laugh by all but throwing himself back onto the counter. “Alright, Wonder Woman, I see how you wanna play,” he drawled out, attempting to contain a laugh as he pushed himself back up and stepped closer to Athena again, this time tensing his muscles into a stance like something out of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. “Let’s see ya’ try to knock me down now.” With that said, Jaxon began to throw fake punches at her arms and stomach, completely stopping the force behind his thrusting fists so he didn’t actually touch her, of course, but getting close enough that he would catch the sweet scent of her shampoo or perfume, or whatever it was, while also making noise effects to go along with his actions.
Who do you ship?

jaxon and julianne are so entertaining.
i second this, julianne and jaxon should sell their story to a film producer… or just get it over with and have a nice afternoon of hate sex (is it still called hate sex when you’re obviously still in love with each other?)
@julianneok @jvxons
Are you afraid to fall in love?
I’m afraid of being the only one who falls
