저 왼쪽에 있는게 치커리 커피 (chicory coffee) 라고 뉴올리언스에서 사온건데 거기 사람들이 커피 엠바고 (embargo) 때문에 커피를 못사먹을때 치커리 뿌리를 볶아서 커피랑 섞어어서 물로 내려 마셧다고 한다. 치커리는 카페인이 없지만 볶았을때 커피맛과 초코렛맛과 흙(?) 같은 맛이난다. 카페인때문에 커피 못마시는 나한텐 정말 좋은 substitute 이다. 여기 링크로 가면 좀더 자세한 역사를 읽을수 있다: https://www.communitycoffee.com/blog/detail/the-history-of-coffee-chicory Chicory coffee latte, remembering New Orleans on a warm SoCal summer afternoon.
