So. I went to St. Petersburg for this past week and I had a goal in mind: to visit as many locations where they filmed soviet Sherlock Holmes as I could. And so I did. And here is the result.
There are maybe twice as more I didn't get to (which I was surprised to learn, before I started planning this trip I thought almost all the outdoors scenes were shot in Riga), but I only had a week there and this wasn't the only thing I wanted to do x). But I guess I'll have the chance to make a follow-up the next time I go, if I want to!
Anyways, I love how these turned out and I'm so thankful to my friends who had to endure walking around those places with me xd. Ily <3
A small bonus (in a separate post bc tumblr only lets to have 10 pics per post): two more places we did visit, but didn't get to make those proper Instagram-style lined-up shots:
The first one is a house whose roof Holmes runs through in the Deadly Fight (it's obviously hard to film a roof from the ground... We might've maybe figured something out but just as we got there it started raining really heavily and we had to hide), the second is from the Deadly Fight too, this arch is visible when Watson walks from the club, and sadly it was filmed from the inside of the yard where we couldn't get😔 And the arch itself was covered with this ugly green tarpaulin from the outside😔
