I have a small team, my Espeon (Espie), Absol (Angel), Dreepy (Aero), the newesr addition Roo (Zorua), and I am bonded with Zygarde (Zigs)
My Pelipper asks are on so please feel free to interact with me! I'm happy to share any of my knowledge or stories and learn fun facts or hear stories in return!!
Learn more about me under the cut :P
OOC: This is an unreality blog for my trainersona! It's for my own enjoyment, so blogging might not be consistant. This is also my side blog, my main is @tadpolesinyourshoes (so don't be alarmed if that one interacts back on your blogs)
I want to share more about Jack's story that might help you better understand her as a character. None of the following is a required reading obviously, but I enjoy learning about other's characters, so I want to offer the same.
Woah, there's a legandary on Jack's team?
Yes. In my redition of the pokè world, lots of legandaries are bonded to strong trainers, or trainers that reflect their ideals. Of course this doesn't pertain to every legandary. I took a bit of inspiration from @/surfacage 's comic ATWWTTA and how they have written the legandary bird trio's bond with the GO! leaders.
Are there other's with bonded legandary pokè?
Yes. Jack has friends with bonded lengandaries. They are as follows:
Jack- Zygarde, Grey- Mew, Kylie- Regirock, Val- Koraidon, Luci- Azelf
Is that a lot? Maybe. Is that a mary sue trait? Sure. Do I care? No, because they are my characters and if you think it's dumb, then kidnly find another blog or enjoy the story.
What the in Arceus's name is a bond with a lengandary?
This is where my inspiration from @/surfacage starts to veer a little bit. A bond with a legandary pokè looks like an intense understanding and shared feelings. There are levels to a bond. Similar to ATWWTTA, Spark and Zapdos share a bond where Zapdos can almost possess Spark in a way. They share pain, memories, and feelings. Jack and Zygarde don't have this exact bond. Jack and Zygarde share feelings, but they simply have the kind of bond that allows them to communicate without words. They can't speak to each other directly, but they understand what the other needs or is saying in a way. Most bonds are like Jack and Zygarde's.
Also at Indigo Academy, Jack met her very best friend, Kylie. Kylie was another boy her age, from the Hoenn region. He wanted to become an archeologist and study extinct and fossil pokèmon. Kylie's partner pokèmon is a Bunnelby. You know, digging and archeology and stuff. When Jack turned 15, her mom moved her again, this time to Paldea where she had some distant family.
What about her backstory?
Here's the crazy lore drop people. Before Jack was born, her father left. Her mother lived in Lumiose at the time. She gave birth to Jack there, then left the city when Jack was 3 years old. During these couple of years, Jack had frequent sightings of a green houndoom. Her mom shook it off. Jack and her mom then moved to the tiny, cozy Pallet Town in Kanto. She moved in next to a the Trace family with a young son named Grey, just Jack's age. The two grew up there together for years. The two later signed up for a program through Professor Oak called "Let's Go!" The program was designed to offer young, budding trainers a chance to learn about pokèmon. Both Jack and Grey were given previously trained pokèmon; Jack a Pikachu and Grey an Eevee. They spent the year with their borrowed pokès and learned more about pokè life in Kanto. The two returned their pokèmon to the professor, then later attended Indigo Academy together. It was there they both caught their first pokemon, Eevees. Jack's evolved into Espeon and Grey's into Umbreon. The two decided to be friendly rivals. Jack decided her goal was to become a conservationist and researcher. Grey wanted to become a pokèmon champion.
Jack still kept in touch with both Grey and Kylie when she moved away. Now Paldea is where the lore gets a little dicey and more so away from the canon. In my pokè world, both Uva and Naranja Academy exist in the Mesagoza. The difference is the treasure hunt. Uva Academy is a moving, hands off, out of the classroom approach to learning. Most classes are taken online. Naranja Academy is more traditional. Sit down lectures with a professor, field trips and what not. But they share a main campus. Jack attended Uva Academy. During a school break, she returned to campus where she met Val, a Naranja student, who had bonded with Koridon. The two became friends and Val and Koraidon helped Jack research lengandary pokèmon. When the school term resumed, Jack left on her treasure hunt again. This was when she caught Aero, her dreepy. Jack had returned to campus when the exchange with Blueberry Academy occured.
During the exchange, Luci, a student at Blueberry Academy, exchanged with a student of Naranja Academy. Val introduced Luci to Jack when she returned. Luci also had a bonded legandary, Azelf. Luci is orginally from Sinnoh.
Once the three graduated from school, Jack had a big falling out with her mom. There was a lot of arguement for her career choices. Her mom wanted her to go after something more 'stable'. Jack decided to go off solo for a while after that. She traveled around through the regions before heading back to Lumiose. Her mom told her countless stories of the green houndoom she used to talk about as a child. Jack wanted to see for herself if such a thing really existed. When she got there, she stayed at a cheap, odd little hotel called Hotel Z. She met some amazing friends and got to research mega evolution. She wanted to see the cases of rouge mega evolution, so she occompanied her new friend, Harmony to a case. That was where Jack met Angel, her absol. Jack recieved her mega keystone from AZ. Lumiose is also where she met Zygarde again. Turns out the green houndoom wasn't really a houndoom. She bonded with Zygarde over the year she spent in Lumiose before the pokè let her catch him. Now, her and Zigs are bonded.
Now Jack spends most of her time traveling across the regions with her friends. She met up with Kylie in Galar while he was researching fossil pokèmon, and also learned he bonded with Regirock on a strange excaviction. Jack, Kylie, Val, and Luci travel all over together. Whenever he can, Grey joins them too.
WELP folks, that's all I have to share for now. Confused, send me an ask, I'm happy to expand. Questions about anything else, or questions for Jack, stories to share, please send them too!! Hope you all enjoy this blog :)
Okay, okay, mommy and daddy issues. What else about her family?
The characters of Pokèmon GO! are also important in this story, becacuse that is where Jack's family lays. After enjoying her early pokèmon research with Professor Oak, she wanted to keep learning more. Oak got Jack in touch with a field professor he knew. That's how Jack got introduced to Professor Willow. Willow became a father figure to Jack, and introduced her to field research and his own conservation efforts. He then introduced Jack to Spark, the leader of Team Instict. Spark had been under Willow's care for a while, as his Uncle Surge was a little too busy with a gym to raise a child alone. Spark is bonded with Zapdos, which is why Willow introduced him and Jack. The two get on like a wildfire. They are basically brother and sister, Spark being a few years older than Jack. They give Willow more gray hairs than he already has. Jack always supplies research and information to Willow whether she is adventuring out with her friends or with her 'big brother'.
