I absolutely love that okarun's yokai transformation keeps the glasses. Peak character design choice and all, but I can't decide if it would be funnier that his yokai side doesn't need them and just keep them on for the aesthetics or if the cool glowing demon eyes aren't immune to astigmatism.

The thing about Dandadan that works so well is that everyone in the ensemble squad is a main character in a different genre. Momo’s a supernatural shonen protagonist with dead parents a hot older mentor badass psychic powers and a willingness to throw down at the slightest provocation, Okarun is a shojo protagonist as a shy nerd with a deep passion working to become worthy of the affections of his main tsundere love interest and constantly barraged by side characters who want him carnally for his autistic rizz, Aira firmly believes she’s the chosen one in a magical girl anime, Jiji’s from a comedy that briefly veered into a horror manga before turning into a buddy cop comedy, Kinta is in a gundam sci fi, Vamola’s trying to escape a dystopian space opera, Rin DESPERATELY wants to be in a paranormal romantasy but got trapped in a magical girl plotline, Unji got isekai’d. and they’re all in the same friend group.
