i suppose i could start with my mascot and fursona, carrion. he's displayed below!
my bizarre weaselfreak. he's definitely one of my longer-standing ocs. i have a tendency to make like hundreds and then throw them at the wall to see if they stick, and he ended up sticking hard LOL.
i'm not super proud of my writing, so his lore is deliberately vague and focuses more on evoking emotion than making sense. but the long and short of it is that he's a patient in a labyrinthian hospital. he was admitted due to the alien parasite (his hair) that latched itself to his body. he fights mad doctors and scavenges for stale cookies and blood bags as sustenance. it's really unclear as to whether or not it's actually happening, or if it's just the fevered imaginings of his dying brain. even i'm not sure myself, LMAO.
he's supposed to come off as a bit of a "wacky patient" stereotype, as a sort of reclamation of it for me. i'm schizophrenic and have faced some bias from neurotypical people, so i wanted a character that subverts expectations by coming off as "crazy", but who's actually the most down-to-earth person from his world.
i haven't finished the updated reference for it yet, but (cw for even more body horror) he's got a teratoma sword stowed away in that tummy-mouth of his. i don't know what it is with me adding strange and freaky pouches to my characters (also see: pilot,) but i'm a big fan of freaky, fleshy, meaty stuff. like, in my circles i am literally known as the "meat man". LOOOL
i'd say his biggest inspos are the fnaf animatronics, vikintor games (highly reccomend but only if you're 18+), lapfox music (particularly renard queenston), my own dreams, aaand the devolver game carrion, from which his name comes from!
