Somewhere Out There is a multi-media music-narrative project. Dive into the OEA's onboarding website to discover the wonders of the Outvoid, the goals of the OEA, and the ever-growing instability of the Void's voice. Piece together the final days before an interdimensional storm breached into reality, and brace yourself for the noises that may follow after.

Hi yes its me a person Who has loved your art for a billion years. You said if someone sent an ask you could share details on the project.
I am asking with a heart full of joy, large puppy eyes, and 15 newts who also want to know.
haha thank you! And thank you to everyone who's sending in asks.
I gave a vague overview of the story on another ask, so I'll use this one to throw out a random fact for each current entity.
(This got a little lengthy so it'll be under the cut)
There are 4 more entities shown on the site than in the video: needle dogs, hand spiders, shells, and reductions
(Needle dogs, tap taps, weavers, and blinkies are all designs I drew once like 7 years ago and then repurposed for this project!)
Mouths are very high-strung and agitated like all the time. Very hostile and easy to provoke.
Weepers always appear within a thick mist/fog.
The Silent Priest is literally so chill big W for its fans I bet it'd hold your hand if you asked it nicely.
The metal spiney tendrils that surround The Prisoner will lash out at anyone who tries to remove a sword from him.
Float dogs, if startled, will keel over and slowly float upwards like a half-deflated helium balloon (they'll float back down unharmed when the shock wears off).
The Herald's presence is almost always followed by some sort of disaster in its immediate vicinity.
Planet heads are very friendly and like to collect rocks to put in orbit around their namesake planet heads.
Weavers stand between ~15-25 feet tall (or a 1-2 story house for visualization). Gentle giants, usually. They also usually move incredibly slow. Until they don't.
Blinkies are incredibly playful but, despite their bright eye, are not too bright themselves.
The hands that cling to a watcher will shoot out of the screen to pull prey into their static.
Tap-taps are hungry, destructive little things. Mischievous but not inherently malicious.
Shrimp scrampi started off as a joke but I loved it so much I found a way to keep it in the project lmao. Groups of them move like birds do in a a murmuration.
And bonus, KB exudes soundwaves like a living speaker -- girl can aura farm by playing her own music while she walks lol. And while it's hidden behind a door here, this is what the "real" KB looks like: just a giant mass of writhing black goop (with colorful accents, usually in orange, as seen in the video).
The designs in your last post are pretty cool but I absolutely fell in love with the music.
Got anything more like like that?
Thank you! That specific track is called Surrender; while I can't share more atm, I hope it'll be fully released on a 3-track EP :,)
The music I've been trying to make bounces between very chill/sad lo-fi beats, mellow grooves like Surrender, and then extremely abrasive survival-horror OST music haha, so hopefully there's a little something for everyone.
What's your project?? :O I've been following you for a while and I love your art! Super excited to see what you've come up with!
Thank you!
The short of it is that I was working on a music project that might not ever actually get off the ground 😅 I put a lot of work into the backstory for it though, so I decided to pull its current lore together into an unfiction website. Even if I never actually release music, the story can still stand on its own! Bullet points for brevity:
The project is called Somewhere Out There
Not a horror story aiming to be scary, but there are horror elements involved.
Revolves around yet another 3-letter organization messing with powers they can't fully comprehend or control (OEA)
The OEA is poking around a place called the Outvoid/Somewhere Out There in an attempt to make contact with a creator entity.
(Also it's probably not smart for my two released IPs to both center around a void as a concept, but here we are anyways!)
While KB's the face of the project (she's very much my music persona, like I want(ed) to bring her design to life for masked dj sets lol), she's only a fraction of the focus.
The way the world of Somewhere works is very videogame-y and fan content friendly. While the website will remain hard canon, it'd be very easy for someone to make their own entities or OCs that fit comfortably in the story (I'd encourage the creativity if anyone wants to!)
Lastly for now, there isn't an ARG involved, but there are 4 "layers" of the website to discover with lots of extra lore hidden beneath the surface!
I'll end this with just a few renders from the website. Outside of another ask or two, the next time I post should be the launch trailer & link to the site!
absolutely totally in love with the weird loop tracks you put on your insta stories! If you did release an EP I would absolutely buy it
thank you!! You don't know how much it means to read this -- I was so nervous to post those WIPs and like, I'm still too scared to look at my notifications to see the replies haha 😅 Maybe tomorrow morning I'll be brave.
This is the first time I've really put effort into pursuing music outside of simple chiptunes, and I still have so so so much to learn. I know my style isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if I do release some tracks, I hope they find their audience :,)
hii, i found you from youtube!! are you thinking of posting any of the individual sprites from your art in the Meganeko Judgment video? :D
Hello! Unfortunately the sprites won't be posted anywhere publicly, but I might post some animation clips to my instagram monday.
Also I suppose this is the perfect bridge to bring this up for those unaware lol, but I made the art/visualizer for meganeko's latest release, and you can watch it here! (flashing lights warning, esp for the 2nd drop.)
The character(s) are also drawn in the As the World Ends style; it's not canon to the song, but I'd like to think our floaty friend here comes from the same universe as the AtWE pantheon :)
