Kato and how she handles mistakes

Kato is so much in her character. Do you remember how she reacted in her season whenever she did something wrong? She said „Sorry!“

In her world that fixes every problem (a broken car, possible legal consequences,...). And again today it is her who asks: „Did you say sorry?“ She really doesn’t understand that just saying that world doesn’t make anything better.

Season is over

I was so impressed by Nora‘s season. I did enjoy Fatou‘s, but it couldn’t fulfill the very high expectations after the wonderful season five.

But what I really disliked was the amount of smoking scenes. I know there are a lot of people and a lot of teenagers smoking. Druck wants to show real teenagers with all their mistakes and weaknesses.

But most of the scenes didn’t make sense to me, for example the window breakfast with Ava and Fatou. Where did the smoking suddenly come from? What message did it carry? I think it doesn’t go with Ava‘s charakter at all. It didn’t help the story. It just gave a bad example. Even more during a time of a pandemic lung disease.

I didn’t expect to like the new season

I have never been too enthusiastic about Skam France. Somehow I never felt it like I felt OG or Druck or WTFock.

But I really like the new season! There is an interesting plot with teenage pregnancy and some promising other stories around like being trans, feeling bad about not having any sexual experience, changes in friendships and so on.

It was a brave choice to make a very unliked character as main but it works out brilliantly!

And that’s somehow the thing about Skam: becoming familiar with a charakter in a very close way because of that personal point of view we are getting. At first it is just a teenager but clip after clip it is a person with flaws, insecurities, good and bad choices and in the end the main is so unbelievably close to me.

I didn’t get that feeling with Arthur but it really hits hard with Tiff!

Please no season 3!

Everything is perfect now and I don’t want it to change. As much as I would enjoy to see more of it I prefer them to live happily ever after...

No break ups, crisis or whatever. Keep going and smiling to each other and watching each other with heart eyes.

There is no Main at all!

Big drama on Friday: Kato and her parents have an argument, Kato runs away. Tears, screaming and so on included.

Thoughtful Saturday: Somehow it’s a climax following the argument. We (almost) get excited about how the family can reunite. What can be done? How could it be talked out? (But in the end we learn more about Milan than the other person.)

Time lap to Monday: Oh, sorry. That storyline has not been so important at all. We just mention the parents-talk in a little chat. We don’t show Katos feelings, perhaps angst, insecurity, anger towards her parents. (That would be too close. In the end somebody could think Kato is the main. So let’s rather not show something from her point of view.)

I don’t get it! What’s WTFock doing? That is so not Skam!

Josh‘s T-Shirt and Nora‘s coat rack

Did he really bring a t-shirt for sleeping to their Friday evening date?

In bed he is wearing a blue one, when dressed (before and after) he is wearing a white t-shirt.

Has he really been that foresighted?

And also: Why did Nora take a jacket from one hook only to hang it on another? Does that mean something?

When was the first time we saw Josh?

The girls talked about him on Thursday and we saw him in the yard then. But we did see him before, right? I can‘t remember right now.

Let’s see the good things!

Yesterday I read that the good part about the last clip was the drone shot at the end. (I totally agree!)

There must be something good in each clip. Let’s concentrate on that!

(Probably it will be nothing about the story, but it might work for coping with season 4.)

I like the pink bottle in the shelf, perhaps not the colour but the bottle is nice.

New place, old story. One reaching out for the other, being rejected. Nothing more.

Same as in the very first clip. I don’t count anymore how many variations of the same scene we have been watching by now.

At least there is no danger of feeling stressed because of too much excitement, angst, ... First time I have no problem to wait for being able to watch a new clip.

Don’t harm Sobbe!

I really admire what WTFock is doing at the moment. It’s brilliant!

To react so quickly to the Corona crisis and do it so well!

But... don’t do anything bad with Robbe and Sander. For me all the Evaks are an icon for true and neverending love. It is like Romeo and Juliet. No chance that they are not meant for each other.

All the other relationships are broken but these two must stay happily together.

So, I don’t want to worry about them. Of course they speak to each other every day! (I will blame the writing that made us doubt that in Friday‘s clip. Somehow they must have thought that only the things happen that are showed in the clips.) Of course Robbe loves Sander just as much as Sander loves him.

Especially in these times with all that worries about health, economy, uncertainty and so on I need this relationship stable and happy!

Please, no drama here!

Sander has a new thing: His „Hugh?“-face, for example when Robbe says „No“ to cyber sex or when he announces to come over (in Sander‘s dreams). 😧

Senne‘s new girlfriend seems sweet. But sweet is not enough for a grown up. She is not forteen, I suppose. And For me mentioning her dream came quite strong and out of nowhere. I am also not sure what to think about her when she decides to call again later. Is it a nice move or is she just not interested in Senne when he is in a bad mood? Sorry, I don’t like her and I do not think that we will see lot about her.

Druck in the US with German subtitles

Hi to the US- people!

After some effort I (German) convinced my US friend who is learning German now to watch Druck. I am so excited about it! I would love to share all the impressions with her and it would be so nice for her to learn about everyday life here.

She needs German subtitles.

Do you have an idea/ link how she can watch it?

I really need your help.

My Anniversary

I have a bleeding heart right now.

It was one year ago that I accidentally found an episode of Druck on YouTube. I can’t even remember how I got there.

I ended up binge watching the first season and the first episodes of the second. I remember being confused because of clips and episodes and wondering why there was no other episode to find... I found out that the season was just airing, learned about the concept and joined from that day the clips and the social media.

I would not have believed how much I could be caught by a series. I was blown away. And still am.

I learned that there is an OG which I watched more or less at the same time.

And I knew that I had to be very careful with myself and avoided to watch the other remakes. I wouldn’t have been able to stand all that excitement.

I have even been at the Druck fan event in Berlin!

I couldn’t resist and watched Wtfock season 3 and it caught me again in such an intense way. I am spending hours and days on checking tumblr and reading all the fanfics on ao3. I am watching Skam espana 3 and Skam France 5 now...

It really made something with me.

And here I am now.

Not having a single friend in real life who is into Skam I am posting this here to celebrate this anniversary!
