soooo remember when I made this poll months ago then completely forgot about it???
chapter one of the Eiland/Caldarus fic is now in its first draft - have sneak peek of "Observer Bias and Emotional Deviation" to (hopefully) pique your interest! Let me know what you think!
Things began, as they often did these day, with Ari’s mischievous smile.
Eiland blamed himself, really. He suggested bringing someone to help Adeline with the reconstruction of the town, after the earthquake. At the time, it had seemed perfectly sensible. He just hadn’t expected that someone in question would be Ari.
She had, for lack of a better word, flew into town. Smart as a whip and fast on her feet, she hadn’t skipped a beat and had pulled the town up to a solidly decent ranking in just two years. She was friendly, charming and charismatic. But she was selfless to the point of recklessness, putting herself in danger without a second thought. He couldn’t count the number of the times he’d sat in Valen’s sterile waiting room because she had collapsed from exhaustion, or had crawled out of the mines, bloody and delirious.
But as of right now, Ari was safe. She sat at the counter of the museum, but neither of them were expecting any visitors, so she was preoccupying herself by writing in her journal and occasionally taking a bite of one of the strawberry tarts she had bought with her. The snow had been coming down steadily and the wind was bitter, occasionally battering against the windows, but not a trace of chill reached them. Eiland was three rungs up the bookshelf ladder, stacking a collection of antique encyclopedias his father had sent along with other trinkets from the Capital.
For a moment, Eiland didn’t have a worry in the world. Nothing existed outside of the smell of ink and old paper, the sound of pen scratching against paper and the lingering sweetness of strawberry on his tongue.
“The dragon statue on my farm is alive and now living in the Deep Woods.” She said casually as Eiland was making his way down the ladder. He stumbled, missing the last two steps in a clatter that reverberated through the empty museum.
After he had caught his breath, he turned his head to find her looking at him with a conspiratorial grin.

The woods were still and cold, and so different from the rest of Mistria that it felt like a world upon itself. Sounds from the nearby road were muffled to the point of silence. Eiland had been waiting for Ari for what seemed like forever, it felt like time itself has slowed, minutes dripping like treacle. It always felt like that in the woods. It certainly felt like somewhere a dragon could come to rest.
hey 100 fans I was just wondering if anyone knows what happened to this particular bellarke fanfic.
it must've been circa 2016 when i read it and i had the sudden urge to see if the author ever finished it! it was called work song (i think) and was about bellamy working in a peach orchard owned by clarke's family. it had a whole playlist attached to it that really set the atmosphere and it had the song "peaches" by in the valley below.
if anyone knows what happened to it, or if they can find it, lmk!
I'm familiar with this fic! I had it, and the playlist that went with it, in my bookmarks but I don't know that I ever read it. It was by tumblr user crooked-queen. You can see the post about it here. However, it has sadly been deleted.
