āScout ship A, prepare to enter New Worldās atmosphere in T minus 37 seconds.ā
Theo scrunched his nose as an itch started to appear to the end of it, but his hands were cuffed and locked behind him, and a lower-face muzzle prevented him from uttering a word of complaint. His red orbs flickered lazily about the cabin and its crew, all performing the habitual procedures heād seen countless times before. His seating was opposite the entrance door, made only for people like him. Most of the crew ignored his presence, more excited to explore this famed paradise than pay attention to the likes of a sub-human, even if more many of them- it was their first encounter with the likes of a sub-human.
āCopy that, Mother Bird.ā The captain drawled, sending a quick thumbs up and signal to the crew which had them eagerly using the Zero G to float towards their assigned seats and buckle up hastily.
Theo supposed it was lucky that he was the one assigned to visit this planet, instead of one of his siblings. Who instead were more often used for exploration of worlds holding much more hostile native life. Heād seen a few of those types of worlds before, and such trips were usually only made for resource gathering. So the trips were short and sweet, unlike this one⦠Theo slumped as much as he could within the confines of his restraints. Heād have preferred some Gamma went instead of him, heād rather be with his pack. But if the mission was successful, at least there would be some time to see some of them again- those assigned to settlement protection anyway.
āHey, you want me to scratch that for you?ā
Theo flinched, not expecting to have someone so suddenly in front of him, nor with their arm outstretched and pointing to his nose. It was a woman, and she looked young. This was likely her first scouting mission, so she did not know the protocol regarding individuals like himself. Still, everyone else seemed to more excited to chat amongst each other, than pay attention to the newbie. He couldnāt respond to her anyway, nor stop her either.
She didnāt scratch where he needed it, but her gesture of kindness wasnāt unappreciated. Though she would surely think differently of him once he was tasked with his objective on ground.
āYou know, Iāve never met a sub-human before. Youāre not what I imagined.ā She rambled, chuckling as Theo rolled his eyes. Of course, heād already gathered sheād never met someone like him. āIs it that obvious?ā She teased.
āIām Viola.ā She introduced with a smile. āItās nice to meet you, Theo.ā
āViola! Get to your seat!ā The captain ordered, throwing a disturbed expression Theoās way.
Viola looks startled, responding with some apologies before quickly buckling into the seat to Theoās right.
The captain watches as Viola buckles herself in before returning to his duties murmuring off to the Mother Shipās control center.
āStill no contact from the surface.ā He relays, āWeāll let you know what we find.ā
Double checking all his crew were secure and ready, the captain locks in the reinforced chair bars to everyoneās person and prepares the scouting ship for entry through the thick atmosphere of the planet.
āLadies and gentlemen, the temperature at point of entry will be a balmy 3000 degrees.ā The captain jokes, āPlease make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position. Buckle up.ā
āThink the settlers are still alive down there?ā One of the crew voices curiously, eyeing the view out of the ships porthole.
āIf they are, theyāre gonna be happy to see us.ā Another responds with a lazy shrug.
āWhat will they think of the sub-human?ā
āWho knows, who cares.ā
āThey were expecting the Second Wave years ago.ā
The craft starts to shake quite violently as the New Worldās planet resists the scouting shuttles entry, Theo intakes a bored breath before closing his eyes as he prepares to wait out the rough entry. However, a wave of⦠something passing through the ship causes his eyes to snap open in alarm. Before narrowing as he observes the quick chaos that soon spreads around the ship.
āWhat did we just fly through?ā Theo wonders before realizing in alarm that he could hear his thought aloud.
āDonāt freak out, donāt freak out.ā A male passenger pleads to himself, only, those were his thought- now broadcasted to everyone. āDonāt freak out- Weāre gonna die. Weāre gonna die!ā
āWhat did you say?ā Viola asks him, double-checking if sheād heard right.
The man opens his squeezed shut eyes in confusion, āI didnāt say anything.ā
āFire!ā Someone screams in alarm, before the entire ship tilts off course and throws loose items everywhere.
Theo glances everywhere for a chance at escape, āLet me out! I need to get out-ā
āHey, itāll be okay.ā Viola hurried assures him. āIāll get the captain.ā She states as she unbuckles herself.
Parts of the shuttle tear open below them and the rush of oxygen makes Theoās mind light-headed, and before he knew things simply switch off and his vision went to black.
They had landed.
~
ā-up⦠wa- up⦠wakeā¦. Wake up- Wake up! Theo, wake up!ā
Eyes snapped open before slamming shut again at the glare which hit him, squinting instead, Theo groaned at the sudden sharp slice of pain which came from his abdomen. Focusing however, he ignored the desire to sleep once more and scanned his environment.
Before him was a relieved Viola, and the complete wreckage of their ship.
She laughed tiredly, āI thought I was the only one⦠Iām so glad youāre alive.ā
āWhat happened?ā He wondered before realizing that once again his thought was broadcasted, and he recalled how the ship failed, how crazy everything became.
Viola looked shocked at him before ignoring her questions and relenting in answering him.
āWe crashed, the men⦠they started- I could hear their thoughts⦠just like you.ā She rambled together.
āWhereās everyone else?ā
āGone.ā She sniffled, āDead. Itās just us.ā
āHave you contacted Mother Bird?ā
āNo.ā She cringes, āNothing of our ship survived. We need to find a transmitter.ā
Mind clearer, Theo cringes when he tries to move. Eyes darting to his abdomen, he is shocked to see a chunk of metal speared right through him.
āOwā¦ā
Viola lets out a shaky laugh, āOw?! Thatās all youāve got to say?ā
Theo glares at her loudness, āDonāt speak so loudly.ā
She shuts her mouth quickly and lets out a shaky breath before nodding, āSorry.ā She mumbles.
āI need to get these restraints off.ā Theo tells her, āI canāt do anything like this.ā
āRight! Of course, yeah, let me justā¦ā She trails off and rounds Theoās form. Pressing a thumb to the back of his lower-face muzzle, the device beeps in recognition before disengaging. With a hiss, the muzzle falls off and Theoās hands are now free. He lets out a long breath in relief, then drawing in a nice fresh lungful of oxygen.
āThank you.ā He mutters.
Viola returns to his front, now seeing his exposed face she pauses. He glances at her, noting her reddened skin and frowns.
āAre you sick?ā
āNo!ā She denies, āNo, itās not that.ā
āThen what is it?ā He asks.
She looks hesitant but answers him, āI wasnāt expect you to look soā¦ā Theo raises an eyebrow, ā⦠Beautiful.ā
āYou were expecting an ugly person?ā He scoffs.
āNo- I donāt know what I was expecting! Just not⦠this!ā She gestures to his face.
He rolls his eyes at her before returning to his injury, āI donāt have time for thisā¦ā He thinks.
āWell, what do you need?ā She inquires softly. āHow can I help you?ā
āMostly, I need food.ā Theo bluntly tells her. āAnd for you to pull this thing out.ā
She recoils, āFood?! Thatās all thatās on your mind, right now? You need medical attention!ā
Theo sighs, and then hisses at the pain that dramatic action caused him, āI need food to heal, idiot.ā
āOhā¦ā She drawls before frowning, āYou donāt have to be rude about it though, I donāt know anything about sub-humans!ā
Theo groans as he leans back against some section of ship heād been positioned at, āIāll have to get used to that.ā
āUsed to what?ā Viola asks.
āYou hearing my thoughts.ā
Viola realizes that indeed, sheād been responding to him when he hadnāt even opened his mouth. He very much was only broadcasting his thoughts. But why couldnāt he hear hers?
She shuffles to stand, and gestures to the chunk of metal sticking out of him, āI better pull that outā¦ā
āPleaseā¦ā Theo huffs.
She thinks to do it slowly and gently, but Theoās expression causes her to intake a sharp breath and tug the chunk out quickly. Theo groans and hisses at the wave of pain which follows but already she could see that flesh within him trying to mend itself.
āIāll go find some food.ā She tells him, āGet some rest.ā
Theo nods his head, much too tired to argue with her. āThank you.ā
āJust donāt die on me, okay.ā
..
Theo gasped awake, hands darting to cradle the still very much healing wound at his side, only to find Viola desperately trying to speak with him, tugging urgently at his uniform.
āWhat is it?ā Theo asked.
āThereās people! Some- Someone is following me! Chasing me! We have to move-ā She whipped her head to the left of her, and the calling of someoneās thoughts were getting louder.
Theo gritted his teeth and pushed himself to his feet, slapping Violaās worried hands away from him.
āWhere are we going?ā He thought to her.
āOver here, thereās a ridge.ā She explains quickly, a pre-packed bag already slung around her side. Leading the way in a hurry, Theo stumbles after her. Winding around slopes and trees before emerging at a small ridge which would act as temporary cover.
āYou must be quiet.ā She urges, āDo not think.ā
āEasy for you to sayā¦ā Theo grumbles, sitting down and calming his racing heart.
But he managed it, as the curious voice of a young man hurried off with the word āspaceshipā in his head.
āHeās going to tell someone.ā Theo stated.
Viola nodded her head, āI saw a village. Thereās quite a few people there.ā
āDid you manage to find any food?ā Theo asks hopefully, and she nods her head. Hands darting to her slung bag and pulling out an apple each.
Theo looks at it pitifully and sighs, āBetter than nothing, I supposeā¦ā
āIt was that or beets.ā Viola shares, āIt was that boy which spotted me taking them.ā
Opening his mouth to take a bite out of the sweet fruit, Viola gasps, hands darting forwards to pull back his lips. Theo catches both her wrists and snarls at her, āWhat are you doing?!ā
āYour teeth!ā She exclaims.
āWhat of it?ā He returns.
āTheyāre sharp!ā She marvels, āYou have two sets of elongated canines! Do all sub-humans-ā
āJust Omega.ā Theo interrupts, pushing away from her. His tone is low and sad, āI miss the packā¦ā
Theo glares at her, before sighing as he realized it wasnāt her fault for being able to hear his thoughts. Instead, he turns his back to her and continues to eat the apple heād been given. Viola realizes the conversation must have been a sensitive one. Thinking more on it, she supposed that was a more than reasonable response. His family, himself included, were genetically engineered experiments that were barely classed as human- they didnāt share the same rights or experiences in the slightest-
Viola gasps as the farm boy stumbles randomly upon them both-
āHoly shit! Itās a girl.ā The boyās thoughts exclaim. āSpace girl.ā
Theo is swiftly at his feet, pushing Viola behind him protectively, his side causes him to wobble sightly but he maintains his strong posture and glares at the farm boy cautiously.
āWhoa!ā The boy jumps back a little in surprise at Theoās movements, āThatās a girl- Heās quiet too. Is he a girl too?ā
The boy looks at Theo form in a sort of awe, the man was tall and large, he held himself like a warrior. Like a predator and it made the young man shiver instinctually at the sight, not to mention the obvious training and skill this person displayed. Like a giant weapon⦠More notably however, was the silence of thought coming from Theo.
Backing up slowly, Theo snatches Violaās sling bag and shoves it to her form. The boy darts his eyes to the orange of her raincoat and pant uniform.
āNever seen a girl before⦠sheās from the farm-ā
Theo snarls, whipping out a small tactical knife from his uniform and swiping it warningly in the boyās direction.
āStay back, boy. Donāt come any closer.ā He warns. āIāll kill youā¦ā
The boy gasps, the Noise of Theo was not what he was expecting at all. The voice was low and smooth, it sounded controlled and⦠rather nice to the ear. But his attention is stolen again by the space girl, the farm boy is barely able to see Viola, who trembles in fear and remains pressed into Theoās back. But Theoās defending motion lets the stranger barely get another glimpse of her-
āGirl. Girl. Itās a girl. Girl. Oh, my God-ā The boy straightens himself, āWhere are you from?ā He questions softly, but his thoughts are still all over the place.
āYouāre a girl. No Noise. Who are they? Who is heā¦?ā
āAre you from Earth?ā The boy inquires again, this time directly to both of them. Neither Viola or Theo respond to him. āGirl! Thief! Theyāre⦠pretty! Shut up, Todd-ā
āSorry. Iām sorry. Iāve just never⦠Never seen a girl before. Never seen anyone from spaceā¦ā The boy explains lamely. Both Theo and Viola look at him like heās crazy. This Todd fellow was⦠unique, to put it lightly. But he was also threatening the exposure of their location.
āAre you from Earth?ā Todd asks again, before stumbling backwards at Theoās pulled lip. āTeeth! Sharp, sharp teeth! What is he?!-ā
Viola steps on a rather brittle branch which snaps under her weight, and Toddās eyes dart to meet hers.
āYouāre really pretty. Yellow hair. Found her⦠I found her! I found her!ā
His thoughts were loud and undeniably a beacon to their position, Theo looks over his shoulder to Viola.
āRun.ā
She doesnāt question him, she does as commanded of her and darts away instantly. Theo readies his knife again, ready to hold off any chasers on her tail.
What he wasnāt expecting however was a hologram that tricked him into attacking a false enemy, now face-to-face with the culprit, Theo readies himself for any other type of attack or defense.
āWhat are you?ā The man inquires with a curious gaze. He was older, in his fifties perhaps. With greying hair and an air of authority practically dripping from his person.
Theo scrunches his nose but decides to answer honestly, āIām an Omega sub-human, of Mother Bird colony. Who are you?ā
āSub-human?ā The man repeats confused, before his eyes gleam in intrigue. āInteresting. Iām leader of fleet 3, now mayor of Prentisstown. David Prentiss.ā
āPrentiss? You were-ā
Theo doesnāt finish his revelation as someone behind him knocks him out cold with the bunt of their gun.
Quickly, he falls to the ground lifeless.
~
Waking with a startle, Theo wasnāt expecting a nose to be pressed against the junction of his neck, instinctively he tries to protect himself, but again his hands are restricted and tied securely behind him. Instead all he can do is lean away from the perpetrator.
āWhat are you doing?ā Theo hisses.
David Prentiss takes a step back, allowing Theo to identify him, āWhy do you smell like that?ā
āWhat are you talking about?ā Theo rebuts quickly, āOnly Alpha can scent me⦠wait- Fuck.ā
āAlpha?ā David repeats, amused at the mistake. āExplain to me⦠what are you, Theo?ā
āHow do you know my name?ā Theo hisses, alarm flaring up in his expression. His records were confidential, locked and sealed tightly away. Only Viola would be aware of this-
āFirst, tell me where she is.ā Theo demands, changing the subject instantly upon his previous thoughts.
āSafe.ā David answers with a growing smile, āFor now.ā He adds ominously.

Theo sighed for the hundredth time that day, they were out in public and Bucky had the balls to expose their relationship by burying that nose of his against Theoās scent gland, the sun had long since fallen and people scattered back into their homes, but that didnāt mean no one was watching. Theo gives the cheeky Alpha a brief glare while pushing his face away, but Bucky only responds to him with the characteristic ācharmingā smile, the very same one which usually wooed all the ladies near his person. However, Theo was not only a man, but he was more than used to Buckyās flirtatious methods and clingy attachment to his person.
And it was all for good reason. Bucky knew since the day he met Theo when they were kids, that this man with the honey golden eyes littered with orange specks (an eye colour unique to Theo alone), with the smell just shy of the typical overbearing sweetness of an Omega, and a heart of gold behind a frankly transparent uncaring attitude- this boy needed to be his in any way that was possible. It didnāt matter that the both of the were men, but it was a difficult secret to hide from the rest of the world.
āFocus.ā Theo reminds, snapping Bucky from his lovestruck expression and earning a nod, still adorning that charming smile on the sergeantās face.
Coming to an abbrupt stop, Theo scrunches his nose a little, a sharp inhale following as a particular scent invaded Theoās rather sensitive nose, he looked to his partner and gave Bucky a knowing look.
āLet me guessā¦Steve?ā Bucky sighs, the smile finally leaving his face at the thought of the troublesome Alpha-dud. āThat guy, I swear.ā Bucky grumbles, āLead the way.ā
Theo rolled his eyes at Buckyās change of attitude, but followed his sensitive Omega nose down a few streets and to the right- into a dark alleyway. Bucky instinctually moved in front of Theo in an attempt to protect him and make him feel secure and safe, but it didnāt have much of an affect when Theo himself was of the same muscle mass, though he appreciated the effort despite being the tallest between the two. Though in saying that, the hidden claiming mark between his shoulder blades throbbed at Buckyās action in a lower purr.
Heād be able to fight just as well as Bucky, but a small smile still grew on his face at the funny Alphaās move to protect him. It was a nice thought, Theo supposed.
āYou just donāt know when to give up, do you?ā An unknown voice chimed, confidence radiating from his words alone. He was no doubt an arrogant drunk Alpha just by the manās tone, yet alone the disgusting smell of his drunk scent.
āI can do this all day.ā Steve mutters, taking another solid hit to the face as the stranger attacks him.
āHey! Pick on someone your own size.ā Bucky voices, standing tall and proud, the embodiment of an Alpha.
The stranger clicks his tongue in aggravation, forgetting Steve in seconds to instead swing his fist toward Bucky. Bucky however, twists the man around skilfully before kicking him to the ground and motioning for the now frightened drunk to leave.
He does so without a momentās hesitation, earning a low chuckle from Theo.
Theo then quickly approaches Steveās side in seconds, fingers delicately brushing against Steveās wounded and bruised face, Theo frowns at the damage, a saddened sigh leaving his lips. Steve glanced away, ashamed of being the cause to the disappointed sigh, much less from his packmates (even if not technically true, Bucky and Theo made it abundantly clear that the dud was stuck with them).
āSometimes, I think you like getting punched.ā Bucky comments, swinging his arm over Steveās shoulder.
āI had him on the ropes.ā Steve states with confidence, holding his head high. Moving away from Steve, Bucky picks up a discarded parchment from the cold and wet concrete of the alley. It was an enlistment form.
āHow many times is this?ā Bucky questions, raising an eyebrow. He then reads over the paper in his hands, snorting at the information. āOh, youāre from Paramus now? You know itās illegal to lie on the enlistment form.ā Bucky rambles with a sigh.
āAnd seriously, Jersey?ā Theo adds, a frown on his face.
āYou two get your orders?ā Steve changes the subject, looking at both their uniforms.
āThe one-o-seventh. Sergeant James Barnes and Medical Officer Theo King. Shipping out for England first thing tomorrow.ā Bucky chimed with a grin, pulling Theo back to his side, in-between Steve and himself. Steve gave them a tight smile, they looked so perfect and happy, ready to serve their country in war.
āI should be going.ā Steve grumbles.
Bucky shakes his head, āCome on, man. Itās our last night! Gotta get you cleaned up.ā
āWhy? Where are we going?ā Steve asks, confusion on his face.
āThe future.ā Bucky answers, handing Steve a newspaper article, on it is the ad for the World Exposition Of Tomorrow.
āCome on, Stevie. Letās get you cleaned up back at the nest.ā Theo suggested, a rare but charming smile of his own on display for the dud.
..
The ānestā as Theo called it was more like an assortment of blanketās and pillows on the ground, two thin-cheap mattresses underneath. All Omegaās have a nest, it brings them comfort and security as itās their most sacred place. Itās where they raise their pups. But for this rag-tag group, it works just fine as a regular bed to sleep in.
Although it smelt mostly of subtle Theoās Vanilla bean scent, there was still the faint smell of Buckyās cinnamon as well. Steve often found himself wondering what his own scent would of smelt like if he wasnāt an Alpha-dud. Strong and powerful? Seductive and safe like leather? Or warm and calm, like apple pie?
Dressing Steve up, Bucky didnāt waste time in grabbing the two and dragging them all the way to the Stark Expo. The child-like wonder Bucky had on his face had Theo show that small smile again, Steve however just looked uncomfortable. Most people werenāt as accepting of duds as Theo and Bucky were, to some they smelt rotten and to others it was a curse.
Theo gave the odd Alpha a reassuring smile, placing an arm around his shoulder and pulling the small man to his side. Bucky smiled at the two as he returned from the food vendor with a carton of popcorn.
āShall we?ā Bucky inquired with an excited glint in his eyes as he led the two toward the Expoās stage.
Music began playing as the stage lights up, an Announcer introduces the show with an unnatural energy in his voice. He seemed a little fed up with introducing the same show over and over.
āWelcome to the Modern Marvels Pavilion and the World of Tomorrow. A greater world. A better world.ā
Bouncing on the balls of his feet, Steve felt himself being pushed backwards as the crowd squeezed themselves closer to the stage with excitement and uncaring for those around them. However, without warning the sudden pressure was gone and Theo draped his arms over Steveās shoulders, looking up at the stage with a similar excitement in his unique almost electric blue orbs.
Steve let out a small breath of relief as Theo shuffled him to stand at the front, sacrificing his own body to be on the receiving end of all the pushes and shoves.
Most would probably just assume Theo was an Alpha anyway, all the mixing of scents made it incredibly hard to identify anyoneās sub-gender- Theoās unusual body build just made strangerās have a harder time trying to categorise him. Besides, Theoās scent was so subtle that it was only if your nose was against his skin, that you could detect that addicting smell identifying him as Omega. Though of course, Bucky was incredibly sensitive to Theoās smell as his Alpha- a connection Steve would never understand as a dud.
āLadies and Gentlemen, Mr. Howard Stark!ā A woman cheers, ushering the famous Stark onto the stage. Howard enters with a wide obnoxious smile, kissing the female announcer before pushing her away. Very old-school Alpha.
āLadies and Gentlemen, what if I told you that in just a few short years, your automobile wonāt even have to touch the ground at all.ā Howard inquires, and a few female Betaās wearing velvet blue, red and white American coloured dresses help take the wheels from a car on stage.
āYes. Thanks, Ladies.ā Howard tips his head at the lady helpers, āWith Stark robotic reversion technology, youāll be able to do just that.ā He turns on the switch to his machine and the car starts to magically hover off the ground. Everyone is silent and wide-eyed at the display.
āHoly cow.ā Bucky murmurs in amazement.
Without warning the mechanisms holding the car in the air start to malfunction and the car falls back onto the stage.
āI did say a few years, didnāt I?ā Howard chuckles, the crowd laughs.
āHey, Steve, what do you say weā¦ā Bucky pauses as he sees the empty space in front of Theo. Theo follows his gaze, a surprised expression on his face as he realises Steve managed to slip from Theoās arms without him noticing.
Looking around, the two of them push against the flow of the crowd in order to reach the recruitment/ enlisting office, where no doubt Steve had wandered off to. Theoās keen sense of smell only confirmed their suspicions as they escaped from the large crowd, making it easier to track that almost rotten scent of Steveās.
With their uniforms still on, Bucky and Theo received a few head nods and smiles as they moved around the recruitment centre with ease. Bucky sighed as he saw Steve standing on the height measurement scale. Standing in front of a mirror but heās far too short to fill out the body projected.
āCome on.ā Bucky ushered, guiding Steve toward the exit of the centre. āYouāre kind of missing the point of a pack activity. We were going to go dancing.ā
Steve shakes his head, āYou two go ahead. Iāll catch up with you.ā Steve states, his eyes drifting back to the centre.
āYouāre really gonna do this again?ā Bucky sighed.
āWell, itās a fair. Iām gonna try my luck.ā Steve shrugs.
āAs who?ā Bucky lightly snaps, āSteve from Ohio? Theyāll catch you. Or worse, theyāll actually take you.ā Bucky ends, his voice softening as Steveās eyes drift to the ground.
āLook, I know you two donāt think I can do this.ā Steve states, his quiet voice cracking slightly.
āThis isnāt a back alley, Steve.ā Theo adds, his eyes sympathetic.
āIt war!ā Bucky corrects.
āI know itās a war. You donāt have to tell me.ā Steve states.
āWhy are you so keen to fight? There are so many important jobs.ā Bucky inquires, raising an accusing eyebrow.
āWhat am I gonna do? Collect scrap metalā¦ā Steve trails off.
āYes!ā Bucky exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. His frustration was beginning to effect the strangers around him as he unknowingly was emitting his scent in strong waves- trying to get Steve to submit to his ideals.
āā¦in my little red wagon.ā Steve finishes his sentence.
āWhy not?ā Bucky asks, worry in his expression.
āIām not gonna sit in a factory, Bucky.ā Steve mumbles.
āI donātā¦ā Bucky trails off as Theo gives his shoulder a squeeze, Bucky looks around him, noticing the wary strangers walking around their small pack. He sighs, reaching up to squeeze Theoās hand in reassurance. Calming him also in the process, his scent thinning out.
āBuck, come on!ā Steve pleads, āThere are men laying down their lives. I got no right to do any less than them. Thatās what you donāt understand. This isnāt about me.ā Steve states with strong conviction. A sad smile makes its way onto Theoās face.
āRight. Cause you got nothing to prove.ā Bucky mumbles.
āCome on, Sarge. Arenāt we going dancing?ā Theo voices, giving a nod to Steve. Steveās eyes widen in surprise at Theoās sudden change of thought, he returns the nod discretely while Bucky looks Theoās way.
āYeah, yeah.ā Bucky rolls his eyes, āDon't do anything stupid until we get back.ā Bucky orders Steve.
Steve grins, āHow can I? Youāre taking all the stupid with you.ā
āYouāre a punk.ā Bucky states shaking his head, leading himself and Theo away from the centre.
āJerk.ā Steve mutters, āBe careful. Donāt win the war till I get there!ā He calls out to them. Theo looks back at Steve, waving him off, Steve rolls his eyes returning to the recruitment centreās entrance.
āSounds like theyāre playing our song.ā Bucky comments with a cheeky smile. Theo hits his shoulder lightly.
āYou say that all the time.ā Theo retorts, pressing his lips to Buckyās before the Alpha could respond. Bucky smiled into the kiss, rocking them side-to-side as the music guided his steps. Lost in a little corner of the dancing hall, away from prying eyes.
āYou knowā¦ā Bucky starts, āIām beginning to think youāre not on my side anymore.ā
Theo hums, allowing the Alpha to finally dig his nose against Theoās neck and draw in as much of that vanilla scent as the sergeant wanted.
āIām sorryā¦ā Theo trailed off, āI know itās a bad idea- itās justā¦ā
Bucky pulls away, a concerned expression littering his face, āWhat? What is it?ā
Theo shakes his head, āI know it sounds crazy, but- I swore I saw Sarah right besides him.ā
Bucky blinks at the unexpected answer before chuckling, āYou are crazy.ā
Theo scowls playfully, āCareful choosing your next words, Barnes, Iām not above giving you a concussion.ā
Bucky hums, hugging the tall Omega even closer to his person, āThat must make me even crazier for loving you.ā
~
Blinking his eyes sluggishly open, Theo groaned at the throbbing of his skull, trying to rub his forehead which seemed to be the source of his irritation. However, his arms did nothing of the sort- instead it sent Theo into panic as he took in his surroundings. Arm and legs strapped to a metal table, Theoās memory snapped into place as he remembered the mission his squadron was sent on.
āAwake, I see?ā A voice chimed. āYou know, Iāve never come across someone an Omega as extraordinary as you. Youāre quite the anomaly.ā
Theoās head snapped toward the direction the voice emitted from and he glared at the short Beta speaking to him. āLet me out of here!ā Theo hissed, pulling at the restrains tying him down.
āIām afraid I canāt do that. Youāre far too intriguing for me to simply throw away.ā The Dr. stated, āFor whatever reason, you were born bigger and stronger than the average Omega. Thankfully for me- it means you are far more resistant than all the others. Your body has already accepted the serum-ā
āWhereās Bucky?!ā Theo interrupted.
The Dr. hummed, āSergeant Barnes. Your Alpha?ā Zola inquired. Theo snarled at the short man.
āIf you hurt a hair on his head-ā
āIāll take that as a āyesā.ā Zola stated, adding to the notebook in his hands.
āSedate him. Letās move him to the main lab, there seems to be something else inside him which-ā An explosion goes off, shaking the building and Zola cuts himself short before pressing his lips together. āGet him out of here. Evacuate him now. I need him.ā
..
āDid it hurt?ā Bucky voices randomly, stumbling behind Steve on his own. Slowly regaining his consciousness, but his focus was mainly on the fact Steve was so damn tall all of a sudden, and smelling like apple pie.
āA little.ā Steve shrugged, looking down the hallway and checking the coast.
āIs it permanent?ā Bucky asks.
āSo far.ā Steve answers, motioning for Bucky to follow.
At the sight of Zola, Bucky growls, unable to stop himself as rage filled his person. āWhere is he?ā He yells.
Zola gives him a crooked smirk, āAlive.ā Was all he said.
āCaptain America! How Exciting! Iām a great fan of your films. So Dr. Erskine managed it after all. Not exactly an improvement, but still impressive.ā Johann rants, head of Hydra.
Steve punches him in the face without hesitation. āYouāve got no ideaā
āHavenāt I?ā Johann leaps forward, aiming a punch at Steve but the Captain protects himself with his shield. As they fight, Zola pulls a leaver and the catwalk they are standing on retracts to either side, separating them both.
āNo matter what lies Erskine told you, you see I was his greatest success!ā Johann exclaims, peeling off the skin on his face to reveal that he is the Red Skull.
āYou donāt have one of those, do you?ā Bucky asks quietly.
āYou are deluded, Captain. You pretend to be a simple soldier, but in reality you are just afraid to admit that we have left humanity behind. Unlike you, I embrace it proudly. Without fear!ā The Red Skull states, stepping into an elevator with Zola at his side.
Despite Johannās words, one major difference between them was Steveās Apple Pie scent. The Red Skull smelt like nothing. He was no longer an Alpha. He indeed, like he said, had left his humanity behind.
āThen how come youāre running?ā Steve argues as the elevator door closes. Sighing, the Captain directs Bucky to the stairs, āCome on, letās go. Up.ā
Steve and Bucky find a beam thatād get them to the other side of the Hydra base, toward the way out. If they want to escape, they had no other option but to cross.
āLetās go. One at a time.ā Steve advises, letting Bucky go first. Bucky reaches the other side but the metal beam collapses afterward, leaving Steve stranded.
āGotta be a rope or something!ā Bucky yells to Steve over the sound of the roaring fire of explosions beneath them.
āJust go! Get out of here!ā Steve shouts back.
āNo! Not without you!ā Bucky states, and Steve sprints to the edge, jumping over the chasm of flames.
~
Returning to camp, cheers surrounded the survivors of the one-o-seven. It should be a time to celebrate, and for Steveās sake it definitely was, but Bucky could only hope heād be able to return Steveās smile when he faced him next, despite how fake it would be.
But when Steve did, when Steve turned his head to his side, looking down at the now shorter Alpha- his smile vanished in seconds. Bucky had lost Theo, obviously there was still hope for the Omega. He was alive, Zola had said so himself. But what did that mean? What did that mean for Theo?
Buckyās expression was dull, he looked like he barely had a will to continue. Buckyās bright blue eyes, Theo often described them as diamonds- had shattered, they were now a shadowed grey, lifeless.
Steve felt conflicted. As a Alpha-dud, his pack was with Bucky and Theo. Normally heās consider Theo his Omega as well, but with his sudden development into an Alpha- Steve felt that Peggy was now his Omega, his pack.
Although he never claimed Theo, the Omegaās neck still had Buckyās bite. They had a connection Steve never understood. They could read each other and speak without words. Even feel each otherās pain to an extent.
Steve didnāt know what to do, Bucky would never return to his previous self unless they found Theo alive and returned to the camp, Steve had heard of stories about Alpha whoād lost their counterpart- none of them ended well.
..
Steve joins Bucky at the bar counter, the background was filled with everyoneās singing of joy. Bucky however looked like death himself, skin pale and with more than his usual stack of alcoholic beverages in front of him.
āSee?ā Bucky slurred, a smile on his face as he looked at Steve. But it didnāt reach his eyes. āI told you. Theyāre all idiots.ā
āHow about you?ā Steve asked softly, still not used to acting or behaving like an Alpha. āYou ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?ā
Bucky snorts as he chugs another glass empty. āHell no. That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb to run away from a fight. Iām following him.ā Bucky stated, leaning heavily against the table top. āBut youāre keeping the outfit, right?ā
āYou know what? Itās kind of growing on me.ā Steve replies.
The singing in the bar stops as Peggy rounds the bar in a tight fitting, deep-red dress heading straight toward Steve. Both Steve and Bucky stand up in acknowledgement.
āCaptain.ā Peggy greets, Bucky sniffles his nose at her scent. After bonding with Theo, all the other Omegaās smelt too sweet or not sweet enough.
āAgent Carter.ā Steve responds with a small smile.
āMaāam.ā Bucky nods.
āHoward has some equipment for you to try. Tomorrow morning?ā Peggy suggests.
āSounds good.ā Steve agrees.
āI see your top squad is prepping for duty.ā Peggy comments, looking over briefly at the drunk group of men singing to their hearts content. She frowns a little.
āYou donāt like music?ā Bucky voices.
āI do, actually. I might even when this is all over, go dancing.ā She shrugs.
āThen what are you waiting for?ā Bucky snorts turning back to face the bar.
āThe right partner.ā Carter answers without hesitation. ā0800, Captain.ā
āYes, maāam. Iāll be there.ā Steve nods, waving goodbye as the agent walked off. Bucky grumbled under his breath as the agent left.
āWeāre not going to give up, Buck. Weāll find him.ā Steve promised
~
āYou are failing!ā The Red Skull screamed in Zolaās face, his expression was of nothing but pure rage. Practically roaring at the scientist with unhinged emotion.
Captain America and the Howling Commandoās had destroyed many of Hydraās bases. Fuelled by winning the war and finding their lost Omega friend.
āWe are close to an offensive network that will shake the plant. And yet we are continually delayed, because you cannot outwit a simpleton with a shield!ā Red Skull growls. And Zolaās short stature shrunk even further at the intimidating and threatening stance the Red skull was loaming over him with.
āThis is hardly my area of expertise. I⦠I merely develop the weapons. I⦠I cannot fire them.ā Zola explains quickly, looking for any excuse to save his life and the continuation of his beloved work/ experimentations.
āAnd your experiment, Doctor? What of the Omega?ā Johann asks.
āIt will take more time. But I believe heāll be a great asset.ā Zola assures. āI havenāt an answer yet, but his blood has fused with some sort of power source, something that he looks to have been born with. I believe I can harness that power, given more time. Something is obstructing its full release and capabilities-ā
Johann interrupts with a sigh, āFinish your mission, Doctor. Before the American finishes his. And make sure your little experiment is safe from his hands. Move the Omega to our more⦠secluded bases of operation.ā
āYes, sir.ā Zola bows, glee in his eyes at the thought of his most upcoming experiment.

1953.
āWake him.ā The head doctor and scientist of Hydra orders, āThe soldierās having another fit.ā
A low hissing noise fills the room as the ice-cold chamber melts in seconds, releasing a wave of steam into the room which blinded the group of anxious scientists for mere moments before exposing the resting form waiting within.
āAsset?ā The doctor calls, standing a clear distance from the cylinder.
Not a second later and a black combat boot slams onto the ground, hands at the edge of the cyro-freezing chamber for support.
āReady to comply.ā The monotone voice of Theo whisks into the air, sending shivers down the doctorās spines, Alpha or not- He was intimidating, that was a fact. The Alphaās in the room stared at him wide-eyed, he was not the typical Omega at all. There was no doubt in their minds why he was paired with the Winter Soldier.
He was tall for an Omega; taller than most Betaās and even Alphaās- his height grew more as the serum began itās work. Moving him from barely 5ā10, to 6 foot. His body was fit, muscles spread across his entire body from years of training and discipline.
A quite apparent/obvious change in the Omega however was his hair, what was once midnight black strands of hair are now as white as freshly fallen snow. His electric honey golden eyes now a unnaturally glowing orange.
A blood red tattoo was branded onto the side of his neck, the symbol Hydra had also printed onto the Soldierās metal arm. On the Assetās neck was the recognisable red star of their cause, large and covering the majority of skin like a virus.
The head scientist nodded to the few soldiersā in the room, and they wordlessly pulled Theoās arms in front him and placed reinforced cuffs around his wrists. Without warning the shoved him forward, he stumbled just very slightly, easily able to catch himself and shift to walking in any direction they wished for him to go.
The walk was mostly a silent one, but everyone was rigid and tense with anticipation. While the Omega was restrained, he could, if he so wished, overpower many of the soldiers escorting him- even with the inhibitors restricting that uncontrolled power of his. Something which years ago, the Red Skull was becoming obsessed in finding the true source of.
Opening the door, random to the many lining the hallway, there inside was an empty confined room, the Asset was directed to a chair. Which he obediently took a seat upon, and as instructed- he simply waited. The mixture of doctorās, scientistās and soldiers hurriedly left the room, and Theo was left with his arms still stuck together in front of him by those specialised cuffs as the room delved into a darkness at the slamming of the cell door.
But he didnāt have to wait very long before loud shouts, orders and shuffled movement filled the end of the hall before approaching closer and closer with the sound of a struggle, then a body was thrown into the room, tossed harshly to the concrete before Theoās feet as the door slamming after this stranger.
The man looked wild, his eyes flickering all over the place and his hair matted due to lack of grooming. His eyes pierced Theoās causing his body to freeze in alert, but at the simple smell of Theoās scent, the Soldier approached the cuffed Omega more confidently- more needy.
The soldier buried his nose to the Omegaās neck, finding the vanilla scent addictive, familiar and safe, despite missing all the memories associated with this person. The Assetās eyes remained staring ahead, unfocused and dull like a robot. His posture was slumped and mouldable as the Soldier roughly pushed his head to the side, trying to gain as much access as possible to the gland before biting down on it.
Orange orbs narrowed at the pain and flickered over to meet the Alphaās, earning a low growl from him. The soldier was animalistic, practically drooling as he sucked desperately at the taste of vanilla, it acted as a sort of medicine and calming agent.
The serum had increased the Soldierās height as well, from 5ā10 to 6 foot 2. His build overall was a lot bigger and more combat ready than the Assetās muscular but lean one. Even with the enhancement of his body, Theoās Omega genes still made his bones more brittle, light and fragile- physically stronger than an average Alpha but weaker than someone like the Soldier, especially when the Alpha had the aid of a vibranium man.
The Soldierās metal fingers tightened their hold on Theoās head of white hair, warning the Omega to back down; Theo reluctantly shifted his gaze back to the wall behind the Alpha.
Pulling at the Assetās like a rag doll, the Soldier knocked over the wooden chair and dragged the Omega onto the concrete floor before shifting his body over Theoās, trapping him to the ground.
The Asset couldnāt do anything to move, his hands were restrained and his legs were stuck on either side of the Alphaās waist, he couldnāt kick the Soldier even if he wanted to. A low purring-like sound left the Alphaās lips as he rested his ear against Theoās chest, listening to the relaxing sound of the Omegaās steady and slow heartbeat.
He was stuck there for an hour before the Hydra soldiers waiting outside deemed it safe enough to quickly shoot a sedative at the Winter Soldier and remove the Alpha from the cell and back to his cyro-chamber.
Men rushed into the room upon noting the Soldier had been lured into deep and rare rest, most likely heād be dragged first to the brainwashing chair the Asset knew all too well.
Theo was then hauled to his feet and ushered back into the Doctors lab. He was told to lie against the metal table, and without hesitation, Theo did as told. Robotically slipping onto the table and allowing his cuffs to be removed cautiously, before immediately being replaced with the inbuilt restraints into the table itself.
All precautionary, as Theo would guess heād lashed out in the past, though he couldnāt recall ever doing so thanks to that memory-wiping chair.
The Doctor shuffled through his notebook and lab report before addressing the additional staff, they carefully cut away at the replaceable Hydra uniform Theo was wearing. Pulling the thin shirt from his body, the staff examined the long cut running down the lower half of Theoās stomach.
āGood. No issues with healing the incision.ā The head doctor commented. āAsset. We have a mission for you.ā

2014.
The white-haired assassin fiddled with the familiar cuffs around his wrists, flexing his hands open and closed mindlessly. The Hydra agents seated around in in the van watched him warily as he become more impatient. Theoās orange orbs flickering lowly around the van as it drove at high speeds, dodging and weaving traffic at the command for reinforcement, Theo was careful not to meet anyoneās eyes, thatād only result in punishment for displaying rebellious tendencies.
Skidding to a very fast stop, one of the many Hydra agents wearing a fake SWAT uniform comes to stand in front of the Asset, he fumbles hurriedly with a small electronic key before unlocking the assassinās cuffs with a quick scan. The inhibitors were deactivated.
The Asset stands without hesitation and follows the agents out of the back of the van as itās doors are kicked open, his mask was locked tightly into place and couldnāt be taken off without a similar mechanism to the electronic key that had previously been used by that Hydra agent earlier. It kept the Assetās identity hidden from people that could identify him as Theo King. But itās true use was as a muzzle, keeping the Asset from lashing out when they tested on him. Keeping his mouth shut until they wanted otherwise.
Marching up to the black government issued SUV, reinforced no doubt as it was littered with unsuccessful shots at the windows. Nick Fury glanced out the window in fright as the Assetās form marched closer to his window, quickly he slid over to the passengerās seat. He was expecting a battering ram. Not some juiced up mercenary with hauntingly orange glowing eyes.
The Assassin pulled his fist back-
āWarning! Window integrity compromised.ā Furyās car system warned, red lights flashing all over the place.
Theoās forearm erupted into black flame and smoke, which soon died to reveal blackened skin and claw-like nails- it was something demonic looking for sure.
The window shatters as a fist meets it, but it doesnāt brake. Fury looks at the white-haired male with surprise and horror. He had no idea of what he was. But he needed to know who he was. No normal human could smash a reinforced SHEILD SUV with just their fists.
āYou think?ā Fury panicās, āHow long to propulsion?ā He inquires the AI.
āCalculating-ā Another hit to the window, āWindow integrity thirty-one percent. Deploying countermeasures-ā
āHold that order!ā Fury quickly interrupts. Another hit to the window.
āNow!ā Fury orders and without delay a small mini-gun pulls up from the inside of the car and Fury wastes no time using it to return fire on the mercenaries.
The Asset shields his face with his arms. Bullets ripped through the skin on his arms, but never got past the bulletproof armour he had covering his chest. The force of the attack sent him to the ground and by the time the bullets were pushed from his arms as his skin healed- the target was racing away in his car.
āTarget on the move.ā One of the surviving agents said, speaking into the device on his wrist. āMoving Asset to the Soldierās location.ā
The agent waved over a passing Hydra van, and the Asset took himself a seat. Skin regaining itās naturally pale tone, it revealed Theoās arms coated in blood, but incredibly the wounds were already halfway through its healing process.
When the van came to its stop, the doors were opened and Theo jumped from the vehicle, landing effortlessly on the road just as the Soldier detonated the remote explosive heād shot underneath the targetās SUV.
Furyās vision was blurry as he recomposed himself, he glanced at his attackers, eyes wide at the new masked threat. And he was shocked to see the white-haired male still alive at all and without indicating pain or injury.
Unclipping his pistol from his belt, the Asset stayed back while the Soldier approached the vehicle, ready for any surprise escape attempts on foot.
Trapped inside his upside down car, Fury watches as the mysterious new threat walked slowly toward him, reloading his gun as he did so. Fury however manages to escape just in time by using a pencil-sized laser to burn open a sewage entrance.
The Soldier rips the damaged door off its hinges with his metal arm, there is however no one inside, prompting him to clip his weapon back into place and return to the Assetās side as they waited for a pick up.
Not a second later and the same van Theo was on previously pulled up to a stop and the back doors swung open for both of them.
The Asset was promptly ushered back into the van, the Soldier pushing him forward with a hand at the back of his neck. The Asset glared back at the Soldier and his small display of dominance. Entering the van and taking a seat, Theoās hands were quickly cuffed once more (inhibitors activated) before returning to base.
Mission was a failure.

At his home Alexander Pierce goes to his kitchen, and opens his fridge to pull out a carton of milk. He pauses as he sees the Winter Soldier seated at his table, just barely visible within the shadows, a gun however was very visible as the light shined and reflected off of it, the Soldier pulls it out as Pierceās Housekeeper calls out to him from the other side of the wall.
āIām going to go, Mr. Pierce. You need anything before I leave?ā She calls out.
āNo. Uhā¦ā Pierce pauses as from behind the Solder, and Theo comes into view. āā¦itās fine, Renata, you can go home.ā He replies.
āOkay, night-night.ā She calls in farewell.
āGood night.ā Pierce responds, his eyes never leaving the two in front of him. āWant some milk?ā He offers as Renata closes the door behind her. The Soldier doesnāt reply, and Pierce certainly doesnāt expect the Asset to either. His mask-like muzzle restricted him physically from saying a word.
āThe timetable has moved. Our window is limited. Two targets, Level Sixā Piece picks up his glass of milk and joins the Soldier at the table. He stills slightly as he sniffs the air, āSeems like your suppressants are fading, Omega.ā Pierce hums, a smile on his face as he shifts his gaze to the Asset. Pierce could feel his inner Alpha groan at the smell and he'll admit that he had a struggle to remain composed in front of the two assassinās. Theoās sweet scent of vanilla bean, typically youād never think to use suppressants on an Omega. It can become incredibly damaging to the body. But it didnāt take long for Doctorās and Hydra agents alike to realise the serum had altered the smell of his scent.
Zola theorised that because Theoās body had been changed further, more masculine and Alpha, overall less Omega- his hormones were trying to counteract the imbalance by making his scent more potent. It got to the point where Hydra had no choice but to place the Omega on suppressants in order to stop other Alphaās from trying to breed with him.
Technically his scent shouldnāt even be as strong as a normal Omega, because he bonded with Bucky. He has an Alpha, so his body no longer has the need to try āseduceā other Alphaās.
Yet something in the serum made his inner Omega feel un-bonded, the scent was a problem even for mated/ bonded Alphaās whom should be repulsed by the smell of another Omega- yet this again was not the case.
While on suppressants, only the Soldier was able to still smell Theoās scent. And that again, was just because they were bonded. Hydra used it to their advantage of course, when either the Asset or Soldier became unstable- it was a simple as putting the two together in the same space.
Swallowing his mouthful of milk, Pierce continued, āThey already cost me Zola. I want a confirmed death in ten hours-ā Renata (the housekeeper) walks back into the room, cutting Pierce off.
āSorry, Mr. Pierce, I⦠I forgot my phone.ā She stammers noticing the two figures in the dark.
Pierce clicks his tongue in annoyance, āOh, Renata. I wish you would have knocked.ā He grumbles, picking up the gun the Winter Soldier had placed on the table and shooting at her without hesitation, killing her in seconds with an experience shot centre of her head.
āGet him some suppressants immediately and be on your way.ā Pierce orders the Soldier, Winter nods his head, standing up and disappearing without a trace, Theo following his example.
Reaching HQ, the Hydra agents had a hard time separating the Soldier from the Asset, Winter was snarling, growling and snapping at those that got too close. Theo kept his gaze to the ground, letting the agents drag the Soldier away, much to Theoās regret as every instinct in his body is screaming at him to stay by the Soldierās side.
The Asset returned to the Lab, his usual destination within Hydra as the Doctor injects a large dose of suppressants, distributing the shots around Theoās body. Before examining his body once over before the mission early tomorrow morning.
~
Inside a bank vault, many Hydra agents move around the chair the Soldier is confined to, fixing his broken arm. The Soldier looks in front of him, eyes blank, mind empty.
āSir, heās⦠heās unstable. Erratic.ā A Hydra scientist warns Pierce as he storms into the bank vault. Rumlow is by his side as they make their way in front of the dazed Winter Soldier.
āMission report.ā Pierce demands. āMission report, now.ā He repeats, a frustrated sigh leaves mouth as the Soldier remains stubbornly silent. Something was obviously plaguing the weapon.
āWhereās the Omega?ā Pierce growls, eyes looking around him and daring someone to speak.
āThe Asset is still under- it takes time for his body to adjust to the suppressants.ā One of the scientists answer.
Pierce growls at the answer, it meant harder control over the Soldier when he became like this.
āThe man on the bridge⦠Who was he?ā The Soldier voices, catching Pierceās attention.
āYou met him earlier this week on another assignment.ā Pierce answers quickly.
āI knew him.ā Winter mumbles.
āYour work has been a gift to mankind. You shaped the century, and I need you to do it one more time. Society is at a tipping point between order and chaos. Tomorrow morning weāre gonna give it a push. But, if you donāt do your part, I canāt do mine, and Hydra canāt give the world the freedom it deserves.ā Pierce states, like reading a script said a thousand times previously.
āBut I knew him.ā The soldier pushed.
āPrep him.ā Pierce orders.
āHeās been out of cryo-freeze too long.ā A scientist voices.
āThen wipe him and start over.ā Pierce hisses, āAnd while youāre at it, keep the Omega under and send him to Siberia. The Soldier will follow after the mission.ā Pierce states.

2016.
Bucky groaned as his eyes open and he regained consciousness, blinking sluggishly for his vision to focus before realising his metal arm was trapped in a huge vice. He tugged at the restraint but his arm didnāt move an inch. Eyes flickering about the place, he concluded quickly that heād been brought to a warehouse of some kind- Bucky flinched as a helicopter flew overhead, and worry filled him at the thought of being caught yet again.
But then his attention was brought elsewhere when he heard shuffling steps, and in his line of vision was Sam Wilson, leaning against a pillar.
āHey, Cap!ā Sam called out, the raise in volume had Bucky subtly duck down instinctually to hide, were they trying to be caught?
Steve no sooner rounded the corner past Sam and eyed Bucky cautiously as he approached.
āSteve.ā Bucky recalled in an exhausted drawl.
Steve clenched his jaw, āWhich Bucky am I talking to?ā
Bucky paused, face displaying a blank expression as he realised he did remember, or he remembered more than he did before, in fact he remembered that-
āYour momās name is Sarah.ā Bucky blurted, before chuckling at another memory, āYou used to wear newspapers in your shoesā¦ā
Steve almost smiled, āYou canāt read that in a museum.ā
āAnd just like that weāre supposed to be cool?ā Sam huffed, narrowing his eyes at Bucky but directing the question to Steve.
Bucky frowned, āWhat did I do?ā
āEnough.ā Steve stated.
Bucky sighed, lowing his gaze further, āI knew this would happen... Everything Hydra put inside of me is still there. All he had to do was say the goddamn words.ā
āWho was he?ā Steve inquired.
āI donāt know.ā Bucky admitted.
Steve shook his head, āPeople are dead- the bombing, the set-up- the doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than āI donāt knowā.ā
Bucky frowned, looking at his feet as he racked through his muddled memory for an answer that would be of actual help, and like a switch he begun remembering.
āHe wanted to know about Siberia⦠Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly whereā¦ā Bucky trailed off, just as confused as the Steve and Sam were.
āWhy would he need to know that?ā Steve pushed.
Bucky instantly slumped at the answer which came into his head, āBecause Iām not the only Winter Soldier.ā
Steve and Sam followed Buckyās action and slumped their shoulders in mild defeat at such an undesirable response, containing Bucky had been difficult on its own- for there to be moreā¦
āWho were they?ā Steve eventually asked, taking Samās approach to lean against one of the warehouse pillars.
āThe most elite death squad, more kills than anyone in Hydra history, and that was before the serum.ā Bucky spilled robotically, the information drilled into the depth of his brain.
āThey all turn out like you?ā Sam voiced.
āWorse.ā Bucky whispered, but was still heard.
āThe doctor, could he control them?ā Steve questioned.
āEnough.ā
ā(The doctor) Said he wanted to see an empire fall.ā Steve quoted.
āWith these guys he could do it. They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilise- they can take a whole country down in one night and youād never see them coming.ā Bucky spoke in a monotone, cringing at the information popping up into his head as he spoke.
Sam ushered Steve closer to him for a private conversation, Bucky wasnāt bothered to listen to them, more so his head was flashing quickly with random memories that didnāt seem to be in any order, it wasnāt until one in particular enter his head that Bucky jolted at his instincts flaring to life, he still had an Omega to find.
~
Theo awoke with a sharp gasp of air, as pain radiated from his chest, he reached quickly to place pressure upon the wound, a gunshot through-
āYou know, you should be dead.ā Someone drawled in an exhausted tone. āThat went right through your heart.ā
Theoās eyes flashed to the source, seeing an familiar face looking right back at him, someone heād seen and read about in Hydra files, but had yet to ever meet in person (in a likely assassination). Eyes drifting to the environment around them, Theo concluded that the Hydra base was no longer in function, a sigh of relief almost left his lips as he spotted the dead bodies still within their cryo-chambers, that elite death squad scared him- the stories of their strength even against someone like his Alpha, the Winter Soldier.
āHey-ā Theoās eyes darted back to the wounded man, āWhatās your name?ā
āIām the Asset.ā Theo responded cautiously in a low robotic tone as he pushed himself out of his own cryo-chamber, landing with stumbling unsteady feet thanks to that blood-loss.
āYouāre Hydra.ā The stranger realised, āYou look so youngā¦ā
Theo said nothing to the man, deciding instead to stumble in the direction of the other cryo-chambers around the corner, needing to confirm they were permanently gone to the world.
āTheyāre dead.ā
āI know.ā Theo responds, eyes lingering over the bodies without glowing orange souls.
āHydraās gone, kid.ā The man shares, āTheyāve been gone a while.ā
āDid the Soldier survive?ā Theo asks.
Tony Stark goes rigid at the question, rage fuels him quickly before leaving just as fast- āIām not sure.ā
Theo nods with a sigh that caught Tony off guard, āWhy?ā He blurted, curiosity getting the better of him.
Theo frowns, crossing his arms tightly to his chest, āThatās my Alpha.ā
Tony was shocked, āYouāre Omega?ā
āYes.ā Theo confirmed.
Tony clears his throat, pushing away the many questions swarming in his head, āWhatāre you going to do now?ā
Theo thought about the question, knowing that the Stark was only asking to make sure Theo didnāt intend on continuing Hydraās legacy, Theo didnāt have much to say, he didnāt even know where to start- his only memories were of Hydra and nothing but.
āI donāt know.ā Theo admitted, the Winter Soldier needed him more than Theo needed to see the Soldier, Alphaās relied on Omega once bonded- whereas Theo could last a lifetime without his Alpha- especially considering he didnāt have any feelings for the brute, or at least, none that he remembered.
Tony bit his lip in thought, āDo you know where they kept their research files? I might be able to find more on you that wayā¦ā
Theo hesitated before nodding and guiding the limping billionaire through the facility.
āYou are a lot less hostile than, Barnes.ā Tony commented, spotting Theoās confused expression he corrected himself, āSorry, the Soldier I mean.ā
Theo eyed the man before continuing down a narrow hallway.
āJust as quiet though.ā Tony sighed.
Tony frowned, āWhy havenāt you killed me?ā
āI havenāt been assigned a mission or given orders.ā Theo stated, āAnd you do not pose any threat to me.ā
Tony scrunched his face up in offense, but silently agreed with the Hydra weapon whom he just now noticed, was no longer clutching at the bullet wound- that would certainly give the Omega an advantage. Added with the fact that Tony had discarded his broken suit back in the control room. Theo also had a good height and muscle advantage as well.
Entering the filing room, Tony darted to the old computer running on fumes. Fingers dancing across the keys, Tony seemed to find the code for the file he wanted- or two, considering he first went to the cabinets to the left before collecting another file to the right.
Dragging a stool over to a desk, which Tony cleared with the sweep of his arm, he opened the first file.
āTheodore King, a medical officer in one-o-seven squadron. Class: Omega. 18 years old upon capture- seems like someone lied about their enlistment ageā¦ā Tony mumbled. ā⦠Youāre enhanced.ā
Tony turned to face the assassin, āMind telling me what you can do?ā
Theo frowned but released the sensitive information after reminding himself that Hydra was compromised if not completely destroyed, āIām not sure how to explain it.ā
āTry for me, kid.ā Tony insisted.
Theo sighed, leaning against the edge of the desk Tony was occupying, āImagine there are two⦠worlds on top of each other- both existing at the same time.ā
āLike alternate dimensions?ā
āNo. Most people can either be in one world or the other-ā
āMost?ā
āWell thatās my enhancement. I walk on both.ā
āOkay, tell me more about this other world, is it dangerous?ā
āIt can be, if I let it.ā Theo frowned.
āOk, and can you take anyone there?ā Tony asked.
āWell yes, sort of.ā Theo mumbled, āIād have to kill you.ā
Tony froze at such words, but relaxed at Theoās lack of movement, he then put together all the pieces Theo had given him, āWait- youāre telling me, you can interact the with dead?ā
Theo grimaced at the description but nodded, āYes.ā
Tony pursed his lips before looking to Theo with a rather serious expression.
!NOTE!: (18+), inspiration from TRUE BLOOD TV Show, Eric Northman x male reader, Male-reader/(Y/N) is replaced with alternative terms.
~~~
Eric couldnāt help it, usually he wasnāt so sentimental or wondrous about sex, but the little beast beneath him was nothing short of beautiful. He couldnāt stop his eyes from trailing the expanse of the muscled back rippling and arching before him, each push and pull earning a new shape and curve to that untouched skin. Colour a gorgeous olive tan, a shade blessed and kissed by the sun, it was warm and familiar- the same kind of skin tone of viking women during the long-summer. It was soft, velvet and youthfully delicate. Stretchy and forgiving to his rougher nature.
Eric groaned lowly, eyes flickering briefly to the back of his head, as he realised his nails had dug through and pierced the boyās smaller body and drawn a flavour unlike any other. It smelt warm, satly like the sea of his origin, earthy like the sandelwood of forests- but sweet, if only naturally. Like vanilla bean and fruit. Juicy. His Tiger smelt like home. Natural and untampered. Pure and his alone.
Eric moaned obscenely as a hand left the boyās hip to gift his tongue with the pleasure of tasting the treat heād stained his own fingers with, cutting his own flesh in the hurry of consuming such an addiction. Fangs in the way, but all of Ericās self control had left him hours ago, instincts ruled him and his horny bloodlust wouldnāt let him calm.
His beast usually waited until near dawn to arrive, but tonight had been different. Eric had smelt him, heard that rapid animal heart-beat, well before the young man had even neared the establishment. But he waited, patiently so.
For that grumpy expression to become expossed to his ocean eyes, for that pout to rile his excitement, for those yellow feline-eyes to seduce him. Eric waited, for he was no new fledgling, he was old and experienced in the art and reward of waiting. Godric had instilled the importance of such a lesson and Eric would never forget something so valuable.
Then, there he was. Tucked into a hoody much to large- it was his, and Eric relished in the fact that his scent was prominant and consuming the boy properly. Eric felt a wave of pride fill him, as not only was the little beast uncaring of other vampire- He was loyal, Eric preened. But he was also respecting the rule Eric had fussed over, others needed to know who the shifter belonged to. Who owned him.
The beginnings of a purr was igniting within Ericās throat, especially as his beast neared him. He could now see black combat pants, with pockets that Eric could sense was filled with something silver- always the cautious little boy. Good.
The red glimmer of an earring, and Eric couldnāt stop himself from smiling smugly- his clever beast had thought of the idea. To have some of his blood on hand, safely and inconspicously hidden within the small vile of an innocent earring. Never used. But it made Eric feel better during his day-absence.
But this night, right... yes, Eric recalls, it was unusual.
He was practically vibrating with the hum leaving his lips as arms curled around his boyās waist and hugged him close. That made his Tigerās expression now available to him, the shifter looked conflicted- but with eyes blown so wide, Eric knew things were progressing smoothly. Sexuality didnāt mean much to a vampire... But his beast was a hesitant soul, stuck in the mindset of human tradition which had been imprinted. Eric was quick to fight such thoughts, battle it with force and persuasion. While his work wasnāt yet complete, Eric knew he had won something when the boy chose him. This night, his Tiger had confided reluctantly to him. And this was a change.
Eric rumbles at the brilliant hotness of his creature, so warm, so comforting. Like access to a sun away from suns. His own personal source of the long forgotten but well-missed heat of the day. The new position granted Eric the expanse of throbbing skin to his mouth, neck expossed and vulnerable to an attack which was undoubtly going to occur.
āMy pet, this is unusual of you.ā Eric chimes, eyeing his property stood before him. The eyes of some still lingered, but most were too caught up in lust, alcohol or simply the desire to move with the music. His pet looked uncomfortable, but in actuality, Eric was already well aware of this fact. He could sense the emotion from the blood bond. But he could not decipher why...
His Tigerās expression remained bored, but Eric knew better, his grumpy kitten couldnāt fool him. But others were not so privy to understanding the subtleties of his prized possession.
āI need your help.ā
It was but a whisper, soft and sweet. Embarrassment know flooded the bond and Eric was eager to understand why. Why, why, why? This was so highly unexpected. His shifter was a strong supernatural- humans were mostly no threat to him... And Eric had already honored his side of the bargin. So no other supernaturalās should bother the young boy further, unless, they had? But even then... He was confident his boy was powerful enough.
Of course, Pam was by their side in an instant, just as surprised and delighted to hear such words fall from lips as tightly sealed as their resident Tigerās maw.
āDid I hear correctly?ā She teased, silently urging him to repeat himself.
But Eric waved her back to her duties quickly at the massive spike of anxiety that clouded his bond, now even he was worried. She huffed with a frown, but rolled her eyes dramatically and did as she was told.
Standing, Eric allowed himself to briefly marvel the difference in height, shiver as those feline gold eyes followed him. Fuck, those damn eyes- they had such power over him, but heād never let their owner know that.
āCome.ā Eric ordered, āLetās speak in the office.ā
Relief came... Eric wondered what this was all about. Easily dividing the crowd, and while some humans watched with envy and jealousy, many of the vampires present understood that the Tiger was his. And that was to be respected, and reason enough, to earn priority from his duties on display as Sheriff and business-owner. They bowed their heads, and averted their eyes.
The door closed swiftly behind the shifter, and Eric found himself holding the boy still as his nose dotted about the mortalās form. Hands patting down the smaller for injuries he perhaps wasnāt capable of detecting. The beast waited patiently, not stopping Eric until the vampire was satisfied. Head pressing against a warm chest, Eric concentrated on the heart beat once more, double checking that it was healthy and normal. It was a little fast, but otherwise fine. He frowned, stepping back.
āI-...ā
āYouāre temperature has risen, and your heart beats quickly. But nothing is wrong...ā Eric mumbles.
āIām fine.ā His pet assured before pausing, āMostly.ā
āWhat is it?ā
āItās me.ā The shifter admitted through clenched teeth. He looked and felt unhappy to be sharing anything with Eric, and yet the boy continued. āIām a shifter.ā
āYes. Iām aware.ā Eric mused, perhaps he was over thinking things?
āIām omega.ā It was added, swiftly and beyond quietly. Eric was sure that without his enhanced hearing, no creature would be able to detect something so silent and muffled. But he heard it. And he didnāt dare ask his Tiger to repeat such a declaration. The implication was enough. A spark of greed clouded Ericās mind as he knew how incredably rare such a beast was- but he restrained himself.
No wonder the Tiger had trouble with other shifters (Wereās included). The boy was a walking, talking magnet. Valuable to every supernatural creature. Of course... Eric pondered. His boy was an excellent tracker, had given abilities that exceeded regular shifters and... those damn eyes. Eric nearly hit himself, those golden orbs were a dead give away.
āYou-ā Eric paused, āYou said you needed my help.ā
The shifter nodded his head, āNormally, Iād figure this out on my own... But-ā He cut himself off, the little beast was unable to finish that sentence and Eric knew exactly why. His night has gone from boring to electric in mere minutes.
āI understand.ā Eric assured, picking his words carefully. His chest puff up upon hearing the further loyalty in his tigerās words (or lack of/implication). āIāll help you.ā
His Tigerās shoulders slumped, and while thereās still a lingering nervousness and anxiousness, there is undoubtedly a type of relief paired with disgust. Eric ignored that last feeling, for heād overcome it eventually.
āIs it tonight?ā
He nods, and Eric is glad for the excuse to abandon Fangtasia.
Eric raises a palm to press against his big catās cheek, the boy doesnāt have the curouge to meet his eyes, but Eric can feel how despite the still rather grumpy expression, the Tiger presses into the touch. It wasnāt going to be their first time together, but it would be memerable and would change their dynamic.
So here he was. Fucking his dear omega prize.
Eric knew it was said to be special sleeping with an omega during heat, but the occassion was so rare that even Godric had not experienced such a thing. Still, he would disagree. It was so much more than special. It was otherworldly.
It felt like the perfect balance between man and women. And finally (aside from fellow vampires), Eric found a partner able to compete with his sexual stamina. Fuck, the little tiger just felt so very good. Unlike anything. He tasted brighter. He sounded pretty. He moved animalistically.
āYou know, Iām offended I wasnāt invited.ā Pam drawls.
Eric hadnāt even heard her. Hadnāt noticed her at all. Too focused on feeling everything, hearing everything, tasting everything. It scared him that Pam was able to do such a thing. So much so, that he initially snapped and hissed at her. Bearing down upon his dazed shufter and crushing the poor boy beneath him in an instinctually protective stance.
Pam seemed shocked as well, but then the scent hit her. And she forgot about Ericās posessiveness, and moaned at the taste in the air, fangs shooting out uncontrolled.
āIs he?ā
āYes.ā Eric croaked, āMy tiger appears to have been keeping a rather serious secret from us.ā
āI canāt believe he smells so damn good.ā Pam hums.
āHe feels even better.ā Eric rasps, pushing himself up to better allow Pam to see the blissed and sex-drunk state of Ericās dear beasty. And removing the protective stance heād been displaying. There was no need if it were just his child, his progeny.
āFuck.ā She swears, biting a lip. Rounding the bed, she drags her done-up nails upon the shifterās scalp. Tugging his locks of midnight hair in order to further expose the pretty face behind. Feline eyes dilate before expanding once more. He looked wild, Pam noted. Untamed despite the circumstance. Those hands were gripping at the sheets with white knuckles, in fact, she mightāve seen those precious talons of his extended and digging into the material. He didnāt want to be here, he didnāt want to be in this position... be with a man. Be wanted by men.
Pam nearly laughed at the irony. Oh how she wished sheād found the pussy cat herself, claimed him for herself. Heād have been happier then, but Eric would win this war, she had no doubt about that. The Tifer would succum to the Viking, submit to him fully in due time.
Unable to remain still any longer, Eric resumes his rythum of thrusting once more. And his shifter wheezes at the quick pace, but Pam silences him with her mouth. Bring the omega into a sloppy kiss. Her tongue traced those cute little pointed canines of his, while her own fangs threatened to draw blood. But she knew Eric wouldnāt be happy about that, she knew that tasting the omega was only a matter of time. Still it was hard to resist such a temptation before her.
Pulling away, Pam gives the special shifterās cheek a quick peck. She briefly gazes at her Maker, whom looks to have returned to a daze of lust. Perhaps, sheād join in next time. Trotting away, Pam wanders in the direction of her coffin. The day would join them soon.
Eric and and his newly discovered Omega had been at it for hours, but dawn quickly began presenting itself. Pamās interupting them was evidence of that fact, she didnāt like to be in the basement without appropriate need. Eric near roared as he climaxed, fangs extended and showing off their might. Lengthier and more prominant due to his age and power.
Calming himself, and steadying a non-beating heart, Eric examines his little beast carefully. The Tiger was near passed out, but his body responded appropriately regardless, still wanting more. Bruises and bites littered the boy black and blue. And while there was pride in such ownership, Eric knew it was only fair to heal the omega.
Biting his wrist, mortal lips numbly suckle at the blood. Not much is needed, and his feline doesnāt drink more than is nessessary, he takes what he is given. Heās a good pet, Eric nearly coos.
Heād never let the boy stay with him during day-rest before. Of course, the Tiger had guarded the room from time-to-time, but Eric knew at this stage that the boy was little threat to him. Nor did he ever suspect his shifter had the intentions to harm himself or Pam.
Simply rolling to his side, Eric curled around his dear tiger and allowed sleep to take him into a temporary death. Together in deeper manner than ever before. This new revelation made Eric ponder the changes he could make to his future endeavours. But it also made him debate his level of possessiveness, as of course, should anyone discover such information, it would be remarkably dangerous for not just his pet- but to him and Pam, as well.
Love was not an emotion Eric would ever be capable of understand, nor any vampire really, but he liked his little beast. He really liked his dear Shifter, and for now, that was all that mattered to a mind as old as his own.
The "Rebellious" one - BBC Sherlock sibling fanfic
The rebellious one
Sherlock absolutely loved you; you were by far his favourite sibling by a long shot. You were the eldest of all your siblings, 1 year older than stuck up Mycroft and 8 elder than dear little Sherlock Holmes.
You were the troublemaker, mischievous without a doubt. You saw little reasoning behind Mummy dearestās desires for you to become something great, like a doctor or lawyer. You hated the private piano lessons, the pointless tutoring sessions and eventually school altogether. It was easy to guess what you did, but dropping out of school was by far one of the best decisions of your life, and one of the easiest as well.
You were rebellious by nature.
Mummy and Daddy werenāt quite sure where the behaviour stemmed from as it was definitely not inherited from either of them. It was obvious to you however, the stress of being the first born, the expectation to be the most successful and therefore grand of your siblings. To be able to support yourself with ease and help your siblings if the need arises.
While you respected the ideal. You ultimately rejected the pathways your parents provided, paving a new one and building everything from nothing. It was satisfying seeing your parents reaction when you visited one Christmas dinner, they were horrified at the ink adorning your right arm. Sherlock however quite liked it, in fact he wasted no time gifting his present early, he wanted you to get his pirate sketch tattooed. And who were you to deny him?
That cute little face was irresistible normally, but with added intent and desire behind them? God, you were putty in his hands.
Together you went to a tattoo parlour, Sherlock was rambling furiously to the tattoo artist whilst the ink was being stained onto your skin, it was adorable, the passion in his story as he explained the intricacy of his design and the meaning behind it. āThe adventures of Yellowbeardā. Sherlock called it, or something similar at least.
It didnāt quite match the other tattooās youād gotten, as those were all grey-scale realistic designs, but Sherlock was adamant that colour was non-negotiable. The young Holmes was a hyper little bean as he jumped around in joy at the completion of his masterpiece. You couldnāt stop chuckling at his antics; the innocence was overloading your system.
Of course, Mum and Dad were horrified once the two of you returned, though they seemed less upset at the tattoo and more with the aspect of Sherlock in a ābikerās tattoo shopā of which it was absolutely not. You werenāt an idiot, youād made sure Sherlock was as safe as could be.
Mycroft thought you a moron the majority of your life. Growing up he strived to pass you at everything he possibly could, interestingly enough, it took much longer than expected. He thought you were just another goldfish, swimming around dumbly just like all the others. But of course, you were more than that he later realised.
You were a sponge. While you hated your motherās insistent lessons and tutoring, you had an eidetic memory and couldnāt help but memorise absolutely everything ever taught to you. You would have been a prodigy, everything your parents ever dreamed you to be. But unfortunately for them, you had slightly different plans.
Mycroft thought heād finally done it when he joined the British Government, there was no way you could outshine him now. Yet, despite not having achieved a high standing career, it was obvious that whenever the two of you met, who was smarter ultimately. You were the opposite of what you parents dreamed you to be, yet you were the happiest having done so. Mycroft admired that.
Heād admit that of course, you would win in physicality. Always. You loved going outside, working out, playing sports, and eating healthy. It was one of your passions, something that ultimately benefitted you quite greatly as your appearance remained younger for much longer than if you had of neglected fitness and health. Sherlock teased Mycroft relentlessly about it as well, how young and fit their elder brother looked in comparison. Of course it was playful teasing, but it was definitely something to respect.
It was only more recently that all three brothers started getting along quite nicely. Sherlock of course never thought ill of you, he just assumed you were an average idiot like John. You played the part quite well, snickering behind Sherlock back while explaining things to John, whom believed you to be his favourite of the Holmes children. You were fun to be around, the most human and emotional of all. It was refreshing to be around.
When you finally decided to reveal your hidden superpower, he was dumbfounded but also instantly relieved.
Mycroft however was a very different story. It started slowly, you invited him randomly to a gig, of which he was pleasantly surprised when he arrived to a wedding, you adorned in an unfamiliar suit standing at the stage and singing a sweet lullaby to the lucky couple. It wasnāt your usual style, sure, but you wanted to ease Mycroft into your life, and what better way to do it?
Over the years, Sherlock had subtly provided you with more tattoo designs heād wish for you to get, all his own of course. You were still a sucker for those eyes; it seemed their affect never dimmed as the detective aged.
Eventually one day Mycroft approached you on the matter, rather shyly youād point out as well, you were open and encouraging as he mumbled the reluctant request to add to your collection of ink with one of his own. Stating through hidden messages within his speech that heād been feeling a little left out. Of course you were ecstatic, more than happy to agree.
It was then that Mycroft realised no matter what heād accomplish, you always have the upper hand in the end. Not because of intelligence nor deducing skills, but because of your raw compassion and commitment to your beliefs and dreams, it was awe inspiring. Beautiful even.
Perhaps those brothers of yours might do a little rebelling of their own.
The normal one
(Y/n) Holmes.
That was your name. Of course you loved your family, you held them all dear and close to your heart, but that name came with a lot of baggage and responsibility. Youād often wonder what living life normally would be like, being born under a different name. These were just thoughts however, you knew in the end, you wouldnāt change a thing.
You were smart; there was no doubt in that fact, being born a Holmes provides such natural intelligence with ease. However, you would argue that you were anything but. You were a humble, gentle and modest soul, you were adamant in arguing that both your brotherās surpassed your measly intelligence without effort. Of course, the IQ tests would prove otherwise, but they were rid from the world quickly after there creation.
Living a normal life wasnāt something you detested, rather you grew rather fond of the mundane routines people lived day-to-day, it was funny watching them fuss over little mistakes, or creating the emotion of happiness with simple gifts and pleasures. You worked as a psychologist funnily enough. You could deduce much like the rest of your siblings, and decided to apply that skill toward something complimentary.
You were a young prodigy with a psychology major at only 26 years old; you lived a very financially stable life with your own private at-home psychology firm. You were comfortable with you life within London, you enjoyed being close to your family, and so it was never an option to live anywhere else. Often as a well respected personal to the community and the police, you were requested to provide psychoanalysis on victims, suspects or even the criminals themselves. Youād get paid of course, but your real motivation was helping you middle brother with his detective cases. Sometimes even the eldest would request your help, those were rare favours however.
Your brotherās wouldnāt admit it, but they absolutely adored you, you were the baby of the family and the most normal of them all. Your parents didnāt like to pick favourites but you were always the exception. Mycroft and Sherlock treated you like a child most often, they couldnāt wrap their heads around the thought of you growing up and maturing, when they looked at you, all they could see were those innocent orbs staring right back at them. This admittedly made them overprotective, which wasnāt necessarily a bad thing, but it was restricting.
You proved your intelligence and maturity every now-and-again, but you honestly didnāt mind their dotting. It showed the world that Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes were human too.
So when the two were on the way to your house, they were honestly surprised and both mortified when the Consulting Criminal Jim Moriarty of all people stepped outside of your house with a laugh and bid you farewell, hopping into a awaiting sleek black car and driving off smoothly. Sherlock and Mycroft had hidden themselves upon the sight, they werenāt stupid, but they were terrified for your safety. Did you even know the true identity of the criminal youād invited inside?
Neither brother remembered if theyād disclosed that information to you or not, they tried they upmost hardest to give you the privacy you desired, as hard as that was. They werenāt very good at it, but they did try their best to shield you from their enemies. You were untrained in any sort of defensive arts like they were; you were utterly defenceless if someone attacked you.
Nodding to each other, once they were satisfied with the distance Moriartyās car had driven away; they quickly made their way to your doorstep and hurriedly rang your doorbell. You needed to be warned straight away, you needed to cut your ties with the villain immediately. Your safety was compromised.
You greeted them with a kind smile as always, both brothers nearly forgot the urgency and softened upon your sweetness, but reality was quick to return to them. They ushered you to let them inside, which you calmly did so, asking if they wanted any snacks or tea. Mycroft paused and politely requested some sweets and both brothers of course agreed to some tea. You chuckled at them, reminding them to make themselves at home; they were family of course, no matter how dysfunctional. The two elder Holmes watched you like hawks as you waddled around the kitchen. It was cute that you inherited their motherās much shorter height, leaving you struggling and whining about reaching items on the top shelf. Though your brothers were more than willing to help, they teased you often about this fact.
Returning to the living room, you gently placed down the tray with balanced drinks and sweets situated on top.
āSo, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?ā Theo chimed, cradling his own cup of tea close and bringing his legs to his chest, curling into his usual ball-like position on his single seated couch.
Sherlock was first to speak, āWell, originally we both decided to check-in on you, we hadnāt seen you in a while.ā
You chuckle, āYes, well I was having a fantastic time in New Zealand. You should visit if you have the chance, itās beautiful country.ā
Sherlock rolls his eyes, completely disinterested in the idea. But he admired your simplicity.
āLike Sherlock said, that was āoriginallyā.ā Mycroft pressed, narrowing his eyes at the detective.
āWho was that man that left your house moments before we arrived?ā Sherlock questioned, though he already knew, he wanted to see if you were aware.
You rolled your eyes at the two overbearing brothers, āThat was one of my clients, of course.ā
āHeās dangerous, (Y/n-ā
āJim Moriarty.ā You finished, āA charming man, to say the least. The infamous consulting criminal.ā
Mycroft and Sherlock frowned, this couldnāt be good.
āYou know who he is.ā Sherlock stated.
āOf course, I do.ā You retorted, āBut thatās not my business, is it? Iām a psychiatrist and psychologist; my clientās background means nothing to me. That is my work.ā
āYes, but itās also a hazard-ā
You interrupted Mycroft, āWithout Moriarty confessing to future crimes in the motion, I have no legal standing. Past crimes are useless.ā
āA scientific priest.ā Sherlock grumbles.
āIn some ways.ā You agreed absentmindedly. āIām bound by my word.ā
āThen I suppose there is no use asking you to share some details.ā Mycroft sighs.
āNone at all.ā You chirped, āNow, if you two are free this afternoon, would you care for some fish ān chips? Itās been a long while since weāve talked like this.ā
Mycroft pursed his lips, it was his favourite food. A Holmes delicacy in some ways, as even Sherlock was fond of the food as well. Mycroft frowned, a defeated expression forming on his face, āI suppose, I have time.ā He admitted.
Sherlock narrowed his eyes at your happy face, you were sweet and innocent, but boy did you now how to use that to your advantage. Those damn puppy eyes.
āFine.ā Sherlock sighed.
Suddenly a knock sounded at the polished wood of your door, you furrowed your brows in confusion, not expecting any clients or guests over at this time. Standing, you gestured for your brothers to stay put while you answered the door.
Sherlock and Mycroft tensed as Moriarty waltzed into the house, smirking at the two of them confidently. He looked more than comfortable in your home, and both the protective brothers felt their instincts flare in that instant.
āSorry to intrude, I believe I forgot my jacket.ā Jim swooned, slinging his arm over your shoulder as you rolled your eyes and led him away from your siblings and into the office/ library room, where all your clients reveals their deepest secrets and feelings. Sure enough, Moriarty returned to the front door with his suit jacket under one arm.
He seemed to be talking normally to you, joking and laughing as if he were just a mundane human male, like all the rest. It was obvious to the brothers, that you and Moriarty knew each other quite well, they didnāt like that one bit.
Jumping to his feet, Sherlock decided heād had enough of seeing that smug face and those evil beady little eyes looking at his youngest sibling.
āLeave.ā Sherlock simply ordered, holding open the door for the mastermind to exit. Jim raised an accusing eyebrow at the new emotions Sherlock provided him with, but decided to play nice and do as he was told, for now at least. He left quietly, ignoring the slam of the wooden door after him; he was far too satisfied with this new discovery to care about rude behaviour.
He was originally just curious about you, intrigued and fascinated. He didnāt even know you existed; it wasnāt until Eurus cooed about you during his visit. She was smitten by you, couldnāt stop remembering all those memories as young children, when youād follow her around, listen to her every tale with admiration and love. She talked about you as if perhaps you were a god, a higher being that she prayed to- or a rare exotic creature like most thought fantasy. You seemed too good to be true.
Yet here he was, obsessed with it all. Obsessed with you.
The expression of your brotherās were both the same, stern beyond belief. And you sighed, anticipating the emerging argument to take place.
āThis is my job.ā You stated, smile vanishing with the seriousness of your tone.
Mycroft and Sherlock almost didnāt recognise you, you looked different without the aura of sweetness drifting around you like a halo. Theyād never seen this side of you.
Mycroft clears his throat, āHe is dangerous, (Y/n). We would be fools to-ā
āThen be fools.ā You hissed, āThis is my job. The career Iāve strived for, and Jim Moriarty is a normal client. You will not drag me around under the guise of your āsafetyā.ā
Sherlock watched you carefully, scanning your expression and body language, trying to deduce you. Yet he came up with nothing. Normally you were so open to him and Mycroft, usually it was so easy to pull you apart, dissect every emotion and activity youād been up to for the past week or so. But youād shut down that gate, preventing any clue to find.
But then your shoulders slumped, and suddenly everything came flooding back, he could read you like an open book once more.
Sighing you looked them both in the eye, āI propose this.ā Instantly you had your brothers intrigued, āIāll install a camera within my office. You may have access to its feed at any time, and Iāll send you both my schedule, if you so desire as well. However, due to patient-confidentiality, the audio will be wiped, you will hear nothing.ā
Sherlock scowls at the idea, obviously wanting to hear the conversations you and Moriarty had, he wanted to know everything. Mycroft on the other hand was more open to the idea; he eventually gave a slow nod.
āDeal.ā
āGreat.ā You clapped your hands together, smiling once more and instantly relieving the tenseness in your brotherās posture, āNow, how about that fish ān chips, eh?
In the end, perhaps you were not as normal as everyone believed.
Iāve included the link to watch the full interview for those who havenāt already ā props to @bohemianfortunes for sharing that with me. Iām not sure if itāll work for everyone, I do live in Germany, but fingers crossed!Ā
Bill comes in at 24:32 for those who want to skip to the goods. Subtitles are available, though sketchy at times. At one point heās talking about his portrayal of Pennywise and his words translate toĀ āscary or daddyā, which I thought the clown stans would enjoy.Ā š
My thoughts:
Why does it always surprise me how tall he is? Like I KNOW heās fucking 6ā²4ā³, yet every time Iām blown away by just how tall he appears.Ā
I wanna kiss whoever chooses these outfits. Iām living for the high waisted trousers, the tight collared shirts that show off his biceps, the BULGE. I mean cāmon?Ā
I would gladly lick the sweat off that top lip of his.Ā
He has great taste in music.
I think my favourite word of his isĀ āpapa.ā My ovaries just die.Ā
Can we get rid of this sidekick host dude? The selfie thing made me cringe like crazy but Bill was sweet about it.Ā
