True, I think photography could be really fun for you! Since you can control water you could definitely take some really cool photos of water doing different things.

Hey that's not a bad idea. I've seen some pretty cool pictures of surfing and things. Just think what I could do! [Kaia lifted her hand towards a puddle and the water started rising into the air.]

Look at it this way, if they ever add Napping as one of the events, you’ll definitely be prepared for it.

I would win gold silver and bronze.

“Uh…” Should he point out he could also neither cook nor drive? That’s why fast food was invented. And shadowtravel. He shifts, and waits for her to pause. “I never went to high school. I stopped going to school when I was … ten?” Though he can’t remember much from before the Lotus Hotel, and he didn’t spend a whole lot of time in that military school before the whole “yer a demigod, Nico” thing happened.

He didn’t doubt it. He was pretty sure most demigods had nightmares, or visions, or prophetic dreams, at least sometimes. It came with the territory, didn’t it? He found a stick and poked at the sand. “Bad dreams?”

The fact that he hadn’t gone to school kind of unnerved Kaia. Despite Nico being somewhat of a infamous person around camp, for like splitting the ground open and letting out skeletons or something, she realized she didn’t really know that much about him. Kaia knew all about school having gone to the same one for all her life and she kind of loved the idea of never having to go again. Sure she would miss all her friends, but she could always visit in between monster-fights and such. Now that this world was opened up for her, she didn’t want to go back.

“Yeah bad dreams. They started the night I got here. The sea-monster attack kind of freaked me out.” The dream always started the same. Kaia was back home, on the cliff where she had gone cliff diving. She dove into the water but instead of being able to breathe normally, water filled her lungs and she began to choke. From there the dream would twist and turn, sometimes she’d be attacked by a giant monster and other times just a demigod with a sword. Weird thing for a daughter of Poseidon to have nightmares about drowning, as it wasn’t really much of a thing she would ever have to worry about. “What about you? What horror brought you to the beach?”

Well that’s not entirely true. You may think you don’t have talents, but talents could include being beautiful, being kind or even making people smile. And you’ve made me smile on numerous occasions. But a hobby is good.

That's some adorable talents to have. I'd say you have a few of those too.

Something to do besides like swinging my sword a hundred times a day.

but at Jupiter we had like, interrogations for possible suspects, when a crime was commited. Do you guys have anything like that here? Or a justice system at all?

It's fine really, if I was new I would want to know stuff too.

No not really, like we don't have interrogations that I know of. Everyone is on the lookout for the murderer but right now we just don't have evidence pointing to anyone. Well, that not totally correct. Some people think the evidence we do have points towards...well, a Roman.

His turned his gaze back to her, startled by the outburst. He’d never thought it was a big deal, not knowing how to swim. Maybe, there was a tiny chance he might someday shadowtravel right into the ocean, but it hadn’t happened yet. And he figured he could either travel right back out … or drown. “I’ve never needed to swim.”

He takes a moment to answer, unsure of how to explain, or if he should, or if a lie would be safer. He draws a breath and lets it go. At least the shaking has stopped. “I try not to sleep at all, if I can help it.” But he had been, and he’s not sure if it’s obvious. He always feels more tired after waking. He curls up a little tighter. “Dreams.” It’s spoken quietly, like he didn’t mean to say it at all.
