Even from the other side of the tavern, Kaia could see that the guy was getting a little bit handsy with the vampire. She sighed, knowing she’d have to help Clover out. Seriously, who’d heard of a vampire who couldn’t defend themselves against a human? Perhaps if he had any common sense at all Kaia wouldn’t have to look out for him. At least that’s what Kaia told herself as she walked over. Despite the fact that he was a vampire, Kaia did actually have a soft spot for Clover. If he had been anything but a vampire, chances were they’d be friends. Not that Kaia would ever admit that to herself, certainly not Clover.
As the taller man became more forceful, ignoring Clover’s requests for him to step back, Kaia interjected. She pushed the man back stepping between them both. “That’s enough ale for one night. Perhaps it’s time to return home... to your wife.” The words seemed harmless enough, but the slight growl to her voice when she spoke made it clear what would happen if he didn’t comply. Often acting as a bodyguard for Ozzie Kaia was already had a bit of a reputation herself in this tavern.
“Don’t think you can go climbing into bed with me again, just cause I helped you out,” Kaia commented turning to the vampire. @bcdvampire

Ozzie groaned as he flopped down onto bed beside Kaia – her bed, mind you, because he’d just had an insistent client who insisted on not leaving his place and Ozzie refused to sleep sleep with someone. That’s why he should never offer his own place for these things. He never learned. “Don’t yell at me, I promise it’s the last time,” he offered. “That’s a lie. But you love me.”
Face still buried in her pillow a muffled noise came from the mound that was a previously sleeping Kaia. “Mmm, ‘spose I do,” She muttered turning over to face her friend, a tired but teasing grin on her lips. “I can go and give him the boot if you want,” Kaia offered, now she was more awake. Not that she minded Ozzie crashing here. It made no difference to the wolf if she got to stay in bed or got or kick someone’s arse - both being appealing options.

He’s here. Those weren’t the kind of words he wanted to hear coming from her. She’d confided in him her past, her trauma and her loss and her opening up to him had meant a lot. And he had let her story become part of him. No one messed with his little girl, even if he knew she was fierce and strong and she could handle the world. She knew that he could blindside her, and the fact that he is here right now, it just added fuel to the flame. He was already angry at others possibly threatening her, and others he loved. Knowing he was near, possibly endangering Kaia’s life, it made his hand unsteady, trembling with anger, ready to snap bones and shape hand to paw. But he wouldn’t let it consume him, not in front of her. “Where is he now?”
Kaia was larger than life, in more ways that one. Her dominant personality and fierce will meant that Kaia often filled up a room just with her presence. However, right now Kaia seemed to shrink back. She felt like she was eleven years old again as Kaia spoke about him. She hated that he had this kind of effect on her, and hated even more that the vampire knew the effect he had on her. “I don’t know,” She replied honestly, “When I saw him it was at Howl.” Kaia wasn’t sure if he had been there knowing it’s where Kaia would be, or if it was pure chance. She wasn’t sure which one was worse either. “Even if I did, I wouldn’t let you go.”
myleshart:
“You know, I don’t consider myself impatient, but….” Myles looked to the stone oven from the wooden table and let out a soft sigh. “How much longer do you think we got?” Pie was serious business and they’d spent a long time going over the lattice work already. It was more than a little nice, being able to have down time to bake. It wasn’t his mother’s kitchen, but Kaia was knowledgeable and altogether nice to be around, so he at least got the same vibe from her.
A soft chuckle escaped her lips at the other's impatience. “It’ll take as long as it takes,” She quipped with a grin standing up and walking over to the over. Experience meant Kaia had a rough idea of how long the pie would take to cook, but the only way to truly know when it was ready was by eye. “It’s crisping up nicely, so should be much longer. Just needs to be more golden,” Kaia answered properly, the heat of the oven not seeming to bother her as she peered into the flames.

“Morning, love,” Ozzie called as he made it into his own room after spending the night on the couch, so Kaia could sprawl out on his bed. Not like they hadn’t slept in the same bed before, he just figured he’d stay out of puke-range this night in particular. “If I was any more evil, I’d pull the curtains back on you. You’re lucky my apartment is close enough for you to crash on, y’know, you were pissed drunk yesterday,” he flopped down onto bed beside her. “I’m a marvelous fake boyfriend, I know. Save the fake blowjob for later, I made coffee.”
Kaia’s eyes fluttered open as she heard Ozzie’s footsteps, it only took her a few seconds to realise she was in Ozzie’s bed and not her known. It was so familiar to her it rarely disorientated her for long waking up there. “Please, you’re talking to a werewolf here. One of the few perks is no hangovers,” Kaia retorted with a grin snuggled up to Ozzie as climbed onto his bed next to her. She had been getting drunk more frequently ever since New Year’s, especially since her run-in with Kieran. “I’ll get Elijah to repay you for me with a real blowjob. We’re best buds now,” She teased.
